REI Ruckpack 18 and Flash 22 Side by Side

Thanks for this! I own two flash 22, and a flash 18 and absolutely love them for dayhikes and loaners. Given the current sale I’ve eyeballed the Ruck 18 as well but didn’t know how it would compare. This helped

Hey Chris thanks for the video. I have the flash 22 and check out the ruckpack 18 today at REI. Going to wait until the 18th to purchase it and get the $20 off. They gave me a $20 off card today during another purchase. That being said I appreciate again your video but there are big differences between these two bags in particular is the internal storage which is why I’m going to retire my flash 22 and switch to the ruckpack.The organization is so much better and plentiful with the ruckpack. My flash 22 has become a black hole. You put something in and you have to pull everything out to find what you need. There is zero organization inside the bag. It’s later for sure but the organization sucks.

These are the two I’m deciding between. I commented on the wrong post. Which would be better for a petite lady. Just looking for a small hiking, travel, out and about bag.

Cindy, no worries : ) I actually prefer the Ruckpack 18. I would recommend it for what you need, as far as a multi-purpose smaller bag. I feel the size of the Ruckpack 18 "should" fit you as well. If you only needed a daypack, the Flash 22 is a good choice because it's light weight.

why does the flash 22 look much smaller than ruckpack 18? 22L should be much bigger?

Biggest Drawback - It would have been best if it had a complete opening like REI Ruckpack 40L.
