madaras vlad I know mate, I'm sorry... the old problem with youtube and music copyright issues.. no I don't have a terrible taste for music haha I just have to use copyright free music unfortunately... :/
+Lucas Azeredo cool cool thanks. I have this same bike and I'm looking to make her look a little better. what size headlight would I need to get to replace do you know?
Hey mate. Great job on the bike. Where did you get the mini speedo from? I'm looking for one but I'm not sure what all the tech specs need to be and yours looks great. Cheers
Awesome work dude!! im planning to do something like this for other GN The rear shoks that you're using are the standard GN?? if they are, how do you remove the circular chromed tube??
+Raul Mg hey mate! I bought the bike with those shocks, actually I didn't even notice the tubes were missing! haha I guess they are either non stock or the precious owner removed them...
Hey there, its hard for me to say as I rode sports bike most of my time on wheels so it feels much more natural on a sports bike position than on a cruiser position, to me its much more responsive and natural to ride but I guess it will depend on your riding style.
Lucas Azeredo Thanks, Some bikes I have had are extremely sensitive to the fork/yoke position even a few mm. I may be getting a GN250 soon so have been looking around at peoples conversions..
The only thing you have to be aware is that if you drop the forks too low the yoke will hit the front fender so you either cut the fender or raise the yoke.
Lucas Azeredo Further to our last I bought one!!, in our (UK) climate it's not very nice cosmetically but it runs and everything works. Just wondered, roughly how much did you raise the tank? I presume it was just raised at the rear with long bolts and spacers.
that's right... I can't remember how much it was raised and I don't own the bike anymore I'm sorry, but around 5cm should work well.. more than that you risk hitting the tank with the top part of the forks... you also have to raise the front part of the seat.
not really... depending on what turn signals you chose it will blink faster.. change the relay or put some resistors and the problem is fixed... the complicated part is the speedo with the harzzard lights... you will need the manual and follow the instructions manual that comes with the speedo... some basic electrical knowledge is necessary tho.
hey mate, damn that was a while ago but it was around 500/600 Australian dollars. the seat was the most expensive at around 200 as I paid someone to do it.
hey mate, clipons were from China, I have used them previously and as long as you have the measurements they are strong enough and cheap as! spedometer I bought on ebay, get the ones with the warning lights, they are a bit more expensive but worth the money, they still cheap unders $100 dollars.. the tail light came with the bike and I think its from a TU250 if I'm not wrong but I would have changed for a small LED light otherwise that you can also find online. I hope this helps. Please Like or subscribe for more videos and thanks again for the comment :)
beautiful!!, hey bro can you make a video or at least recomend what to buy for making a suzuki gn 125 look as good as your gn 250? Id really apreciate it thanks and I admire your work
hey mate, I don t have much experience with the 125 but I recommend measuring your forks and buy clipons, or at least a clubman handlebar... also lower the forks and trim the seat to get a lower stand for the bike... then add a few touches like small blinkers etc. I hope this helps.
Ek70R yeah I believe the forks have a different size... so better to be safe... also change the speedo as the stock one is quite bulky... I recommend a mini speedo from bike shops/ebay...
yeaa thanks for the info! hey you know... you should buy a pair of bar end mirrors for the recruit!! :) it would look awesome and a bit more cafe racer-classic dunno and also it will make you stay away from the cops as well jaja
Hey man, just wondering if you trimmed the seat yourself ? Would the trimming and reupholstering of the seat be one of the more costly aspects of the restoration ?
Hi Rich, I didn't do it myself, I have no tools or skills haha.. but you could try... as for the costs, it cost me around $200 and the original seat was used as a base so its not very expensive at all if you consider the final look it adds to the bike. as a single part I would say it was the most expensive part added, you're right.
That's awesome man... I definitely think this is the coolest GN250 I've seen, followed at a distance by the "Dyno Garage" one another youtuber put up. I'm sorry for all the questions I'm about to ask but prior to watching this video and the dyno garage one I was adverse to touching my bike... now I just want to make it special haha. i have a 2007 gn250 exactly the same as this one - trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/tq/314693838.jpg I'm still trying to figure out what you did to your seat, did you shave off the rise for the pillion passenger and the extra width around the front of the seat ? Would I need to see a bikes customs specialist or did you just see a general reupholsterer ? I'm super impressed man, and thanks for your time replying to these comments.
Rich G Hey mate, no worries! I went to a specialist, he did a shave on the top part of the seat... where do you live? if you live in Sydney Australia I can definitely give you his contact details... and thanks a lot for the comments! :)
I live in Auckland at the moment but looking to start a trade apprenticeship in Sydney/Brisbane so it'd be cool if you gave me his contact details, thanks man. Do you think you would consider doing a Recruit 2.0 ? Honestly too impressed at this haha.
Rich G Hey Rich, sorry I missed your post... Thanks a lot for your comment, I will add his contact details in the description... I have 2 projects on pause atm, one SRV250 and a CX500... I have a few ideas for my next projects as the CX would be a major restoration... not sure if it will be military tho but maybe... :) Please like or subscribe for more videos, it helps a lot my work! Cheers!
I always had sportsbikes, so to me, it handles much better.. just be careful not to lower it too much as you will get the exhaust headers hitting the back of the front fender (hence they cut it shorter), hope this helps.
hi, I painted using etch primer first thn 2k paing on top, but don't expect it to last too long. paining on top of chrome is never going to last long..
Tomek_PL sorry mate, when I did the video youtube didn't accept any music with copyright... Things have changed and they now accept it but I sold the bike :(
👍🇧🇷 fico show chic show👏👏👏
Fantastic, great job. Congratulation !
Just saw this and I love this bike. Great work!!
your bike looks just absolutely amazing! so retro man! so awesome!!!
Thanks a lot!
Love the bike, really well done! Might be getting one of these for almost nothing so...
Do it!
What is the music of video ?
"The Recruit" proved to be a work of art, nicely done.
I'm sorry, youtube is a pain with free music...
Hola tengo una moto igual y la voy a pintar igual q la tya una cosa los guardabarros los pintaste o pusisteis vinilo?
it was painted with a 2pak paint, just make sure to sand it very well or it won't stick.
Que color es numero o referencia?
El cromado me da miedo q salte
well done, man! She's absolutely beautiful! And the editing is nice too!
Thanks man! really appreciate the comment :)
Awesome bike dude!
Thanks!!
Great video, great bike. I am really interested in the process for lowering the forks... Can you please describe it? Thanks so much
beautiful your bike
thanks guys, the indicator was from ebay, the speedometer cost around 100 dollars shipped in Australia. just look for mini speedo :)
Should've painted the engine black man. Would match the indicator lights.
Hi there, I love the bike and I would love to know where you got that exhaust. Keep up the good work!
csol2013 hey mate, I'm not sure, I bought the bike with it, I'm sorry I can't help there...
no worries, thanks!
great job on the bike. thumbs up. What kills me is the song though.. What is it? please spare my suffering.
madaras vlad I know mate, I'm sorry... the old problem with youtube and music copyright issues.. no I don't have a terrible taste for music haha I just have to use copyright free music unfortunately... :/
Any idea what the seat was off?
Seat is just the original seat trimmed... I would recommend just buying a new one and selling the original unless yours is damaged as it wasn't cheap.
hey I like your handlebars what kind would I get to look like that?
hey mate, you need to measure your forks first and get the correct width, then look up for clipons on ebay or your local bike shop. Thanks.
+Lucas Azeredo cool cool thanks. I have this same bike and I'm looking to make her look a little better. what size headlight would I need to get to replace do you know?
I guess this is very personal. I didn't change mine but I really like the daytona model, look up i google, daytona headlight.
So that "horizontal look" you achieved on the tank was only by lowering the forks?
and raising the back part of the tank... don't raise it too much as you risk hitting the clipons/handlebar on the side of the tank when you turn...
Thanks for the tip and quick answer!
Alexandre Porto Alegre no worries, please subscribe and check my other videos for more ideas :D
Hey mate. Great job on the bike. Where did you get the mini speedo from? I'm looking for one but I'm not sure what all the tech specs need to be and yours looks great. Cheers
hey mate, ebay! there are heaps and they are quite cheap.
Awesome work dude!!

+Raul Mg hey mate! I bought the bike with those shocks, actually I didn't even notice the tubes were missing! haha I guess they are either non stock or the precious owner removed them...
Nice man, how dud you keep the tank so straight?
you need to use spacers and bigger bolts at the front. :)
Looks fun, how did dropping the forks so far effect the feel of the steeing and how the bike tuns in?
Hey there, its hard for me to say as I rode sports bike most of my time on wheels so it feels much more natural on a sports bike position than on a cruiser position, to me its much more responsive and natural to ride but I guess it will depend on your riding style.

that's right... I can't remember how much it was raised and I don't own the bike anymore I'm sorry, but around 5cm should work well.. more than that you risk hitting the tank with the top part of the forks... you also have to raise the front part of the seat.
Is it complicated installing the electrical part to the bike like the signal lights and the headlight or electric starter and so on
not really... depending on what turn signals you chose it will blink faster.. change the relay or put some resistors and the problem is fixed... the complicated part is the speedo with the harzzard lights... you will need the manual and follow the instructions manual that comes with the speedo... some basic electrical knowledge is necessary tho.
hey dude amazing work, how much have you spent on pices??
hey mate, damn that was a while ago but it was around 500/600 Australian dollars. the seat was the most expensive at around 200 as I paid someone to do it.
Great Bike, very good made video!
What Colour is this? Can you tell me RAL Number?
blaues Wunder Sorry mate, I've done this project years ago and I aske for an olive colour military style 2k spray paint.
Great job. Where can I buy this seat? It fits in a GN125?
hey mate, the seat was custom made, if you're in Sydney I can give you details of the guy who made it.
What model is the:
Clipons
Speedometer
light stop rear combination
and the Headlamp black
hey mate, clipons were from China, I have used them previously and as long as you have the measurements they are strong enough and cheap as! spedometer I bought on ebay, get the ones with the warning lights, they are a bit more expensive but worth the money, they still cheap unders $100 dollars.. the tail light came with the bike and I think its from a TU250 if I'm not wrong but I would have changed for a small LED light otherwise that you can also find online. it is that different then? :( well I`ll see what can I do, thanks for your help!, :) it is the same principle with the gn250 I guess :s
Ek70R yeah I believe the forks have a different size... so better to be safe... also change the speedo as the stock one is quite bulky... I recommend a mini speedo from bike shops/ebay...

Ek70R haha definitely, I sold the bike already but I was using the stock mirrors... they work well but I removed them for photos or videos :)

Hello Lucas, nice Bike !!!
I have a question, the seat is from which Bike ?
Hi Vinicius, the seat is the original seat but trimmed and re upholstered professionally done.
Lucas Azeredo Very nice, thank you.
How does it handle with the dropped forks? Thinking of doing something similar, and the internet is saying all different kind of things.
I always had sportsbikes, so to me, it handles much better.. just be careful not to lower it too much as you will get the exhaust headers hitting the back of the front fender (hence they cut it shorter), hope this helps.
How do u rise the tank?
sure did, around 4 to 5cm.
Hey lucas Where did you get those rims. Ihave been searching it for days now still couldn't find one
Ali Shinaan the rims are standard as far as I know?
Hi! How did you paint the chromed parts? I'm working on mi gn and I would like to save some money painting these parts by myself
hi, I painted using etch primer first thn 2k paing on top, but don't expect it to last too long. paining on top of chrome is never going to last long..
Thanks, I'm going to try. And what about the seat? you used the old seat to make the new one or you made a completely new one?
Hermosa
Nice bike. But I´d like to hear the sound of the machine, pure, without disturbing elevator music.
Hey Lucas! Awesome bike! Mind if we make a review on it for suzukign.com ?
sure thing mate, go for it! :)
show us a real drive instead of this speeded crap with music. dislike
Tomek_PL sorry mate, when I did the video youtube didn't accept any music with copyright... Things have changed and they now accept it but I sold the bike :(
Me das tu correo electrónico para comentar cosas? voy a dejar mi moto lo mas parecida a la tuya y si me puedes ayudar te lo agradecería
What size tires?
