Monster isn't Nicki's best verse lol. She's had far more superior verses since then, if you truly listen to Nicki's music. You just have to get into her discography!! I appreciate that y'all give Nicki the respect she deserves though ❤ But I just wish that people would understand that she's a much more layered, nuanced and complex artist than people make her out to be. Also, the Beyonce comparison is unfair in my opinion. You don't see Nicki's male counterparts in rap being compared to Beyonce as much as she does, yet we know that Beyonce is the standard for women AND men. Nicki and Beyonce are both influential artists, but both are also different performers. Male rappers stand on stage (some with no energy at all) and do nothing and get praised for it, but when it comes to women, an impossible expectation is always set that they have to do intense choreography, with great performance visuals. As an MC, Nicki is already doing much more than most of her male counterparts, performance-wise.
