- Winter arrived, and it is so beautiful outside. So I went out together with my son Thijs to enjoy the amazing views. We hope to see black grouse and grey shrikes, but will we succeed? In the meantime I tell you about my new 70-200 GM2, and my new GoPro 9 which will replace my Insta 360. That last actioncamera has some serious audio issues and I couldnt stand it anymore...

Beautiful conditions there Jeroen. Here in Wales we have actually had a week or so of dry weather and one slight frost but nothing like that.
Unfortunately, back to rain now and its forecast to rain over most of the Christmas period.

I have picked up lots of english names through social media and developed a fascination for the mix-ups that can happen. Try the rietzanger translation as reed warbler means kleine karekiet.

I’m in the amsterdam area. Birding locations oostvaardersplassen zuidpier. Learned english names through Twitter mainly.

I can relate somewhat with the bird name confusion. Here in the US, we have some different names than other places. What we call a buzzard is a type of vulture, so every time I hear folks talking about buzzards, I have to remind myself they're talking about hawks. Sas to hear about the plight of the black grouse. I hope they make it. How do you like that monopod? I've been thinking about possibly getting one. Anyway, great video. I hope you and yours have a happy new year. Cheers from Maine, USA. :) Paula
Thanks Paula! Yes, names of animals have been going around in the past quite a bit and stuck in totally different animals than they originally were made for...
I like the monopod! But I never did an extensive review of more brands side by side. So I have to be honest and say I am not the best to ask for advice.... :)

Oef, good question, I had to look it up as I bought it as one package. It is the S4 from Benro.
