- The entire drive from Miami to Key West in June 2023. The entire journey took about 4 and a half hours. I start off in Downtown Miami and end in the Old Town of Key West. This drive takes you through the entirety of the Florida Keys on the Overseas Highway. Along the way, I cross over 43 Islands and 42 Bridges. The islands border the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The most famous attraction on the Overseas Highway is the Seven Mile Bridge, which was considered one of the longest bridges when it was built.

In 1999 first visit to Miami, partner and I drove this route from south beach, in a chevy cavalier convertible rental, off season, then traffic was very lite no congestion, the drive and scenery was breathtaking plus we got a good tan. Great times.🌞

So have to say, very nicely done video. Enjoyed watching it. When I was 16 years old, back in 1976 my dad borrowed his boss's motorhome, at Christmas time, our family went from the finger lakes to key West in it. I remember the 7 mile bridge the most, not sure if it was the same one, or maybe it was the older one that you mentioned with the trees growing. I do also recall going to I believe it was a museum in key West. It was full for treasures from ship wreaks maybe. Long time ago, have never been back. My parents are long gone since then. Thanks for the trip and the memories.
