Yummy as it gets colder in the northeast I’m craving some. I’m not vegan but I make the vegan version all the time, the coconut gives it a great flavor.
I love the coconut milk version as well!

To be honest, I’ve never seen cornmeal before. My flatmate who isn’t black brought a bag of it home from the event she attended. Since we both didn’t know what to do with it, I started searching on the internet and found this video! Looks nice, so it’s time to experiment with that bad boy, wish us luck! 😅

@@festnotfirst maybe just watch some practice videos, and then improvise. It was the same for me with custard, I struggled alot with it, after a couple practice, I nail it!! So just try ur best, ur learning

I remember when we use to sit in the public park and prepare cornmeal porridge which I would then share with good friends. I have lost most of them throughout the years though.
This recipe is just like how we do it in jamaica. I love to sprinkle cinnamon powder on top off mine.

No proportions given on this video. Web link says to use liquid proportion 1:7. This grain does take more water than others.
Use however much liquid you prefer but that worked for me.

And on your site it says vegan cornmeal .. is that the recipe for this cornmeal porridge? Is it reg milk or coconut milk?
Oops I was supposed to add the non vegan addition. Just replace the coconut milk with milk and sugar with condensed milk. That version is very tasty! You can also do half milk and half coconut milk!
Can I make a big batch of this for the week or does it not sit well in the fridge??

hi... i am not a sweet person... i used your recipe, leaving out the sweet stuff... i added salt mustard, black pepper, chipotle chilli & grated cheese and some mayo, because it kicked like a mule... goes well on pasta as a sauce, or on toast as a snack...
