RIP KA also known as Brownsville Ka, one of the illest MC's I ever heard bar for bar. I know alot of times I cover underground artists and people sometimes look at that sideways like why would I cover them? Ka is why, and artists like him. I first listened to Ka on Grief Pedigree because his long form video caught my attention because of his eye for cinematography but when I heard his rhymes I was blown away. What followed was a lyrical journey with Ka from The Night's Gambit, to Honor Killed The Samurai which was the first album cover I used as a background when I'm on the show, to Descendants Of Cain, Days With Dr. Yen Lo, Orpheus vs The Sirens, A Martyr's Reward, Languish Arts, Woeful Studies and The Thief Next To Jesus which I had the honor of reviewing here. THIS is why I do this. For the ART of Hip Hop. Ka's words hit me in a very profound way not just for the pure mastery of lyricism, and nuance which is hard for me to even describe myself but also for the wisdom and lessons in his songs. My condolences to the family and just know every time I touch this microphone its not about fame and popularity for me, its about what Ka represented as an artist and thats what I'm carrying with me into this world of Podcasting/ Hip Hop journalism. Again Rest In Peace and we gonna hold it down over here on A2HH as long as I'm here for sure 🔥
@@stillhere6558 You was hating on the man with multiple comments degrading him personally and his art. No such salvation is at work in your own life because if that was the case it be reflected in your words which its not. Don't speak on this man now in death when all you had was hate about him when he was here.
@@stillhere6558 What Ka had to say about organized religions like Christianity was historically accurate and THATS what no religious person can face cause respectfully even though you accept the positive of your faith its also intertwined with the negative and there's no escaping that. Ka respected the religion thats why he wrestled with it but like I told someone today which is Columbus Day the same reverence you hold for the cross in your home today strikes fear and terror to people calling it Indigenous Peoples Day today. This is consistent in no matter what element of whatever religion and faith. There is a flip side to all you hold positive with brings with it the negative. The denial of the law of opposites as a real factor in religion will be its downfall when people realize the whole truth is not being represented.
I never hated on the man. I gave an honest, fair review of his album The Thief Next to Jesus. And I said he used Jesus’ name for clout based on the rhetoric of his own words. And I repeat: Everyone needs to work out their salvation with God while they have time.
@@stillhere6558 Nobody is more guilty of using Jesus name for clout than people like you. Salvation is based upon the PERSON, it is not granted by God and this is the mistranslations of transforming ancient language into English by people that never believed the religion anyway. "Salvation" is based on the PERSON making calculated decisions to "save" themself before they even die and get to judgment day. God does NOT grant you that. YOU do based on your own actions. God observes what YOU do, he don't hand out salvation passes that aren't EARNED.
Showing ✊🏾 from Duval as well. I just tweeted about Come Together Day in 98 lol. Tip’s legacy is certified but before he bows out of the game….. I wanna see him do an entire album with DJ Toomp
Is all of rap media scared to talk about the other 3 verses on meet the Grahams? He said alot more in that song than "u got a daughter". I dont see or hear anybody tryna disprove the rest of the song or talking bout how hard the rest of the song is to deny
Right people were saying cole needs to explain himself and he does hes still getting killed and he can talk goat talk too if he's rapping and making better music than everybody else
Yall need more consistency in the show. Different combinations of different host every other pod makes the pod drag. Yall two energy is too dry. As bogus a Leroys takes are most of the time when he is on here with Mike I think it's the best combo. Just offering an opinion to help the show. Yall need someone a bit more lively on every show.

Hopefully Ka worked out his salvation with God. That’s what matters more than anything.
