Hi Hannah, I don't usually post comments but I just wanted to say.. I had major foot surgery many years ago and was six-weeks non-weight bearing! Oh the pain and inflammation! Two things that got me through: 1. I tied an ice pack tied behind the knee and then kept the foot raised - this helped enormously with the inflammation, even during the recovery period after walking, etc., any time it was painful I would put the foot up and tie on a pack of peas with a tea towel! 2. humour! I read Jeeves and Wooster, as I couldn't concentrate on anything serious. Now really is the time to let yourself binge-watch some comedy or drama, anything that helps pass the time and take your mind off the situation. Many years later I am finally dancing en pointe, something the surgeon said I wouldn't be able to do... With recovery what counts is not how long it takes, but how long it LASTS. God bless you through this time xx
Physiotherapist here…To promote healing and protect your operated right ankle, if you are using one cane, it should be held on your LEFT arm, not the same side as your operated ankle. This way when you walk, the cane and the operated ankle go forward TOGETHER, and you Share the weight bearing of your operated right ankle with your left arm. ❤from Montreal
thank you for being truthful! I feel like its a side of ballet that we dont get to see often, but you sharing it, definitely helps everyone going through something, not feel so alone, and learn things from your own journey
🤗 you’re amazing! Thank you for showing the real side of surgery and recovery. We all send good vibes and wishes. You’ll get there, one day at a time. Keep your chin up chick! ❤️❤️
This video fees almost cathartic to watch! You and your mum’s relationship just made me smile throughout. Sending lots of support and positivity your way! 🤗 Take care and cherish these moments with family!
Honestly, it's nice to see the in-between messy bits. Because it's easy to forget, we all go through them. Also, in recovery over here 😅 we're gunna rock it, though, and get back to it soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤
I never had foot surgery during my professional dancing days but I can only imagine your frustration. When you talked about waking up at four am working through dance moves etc I would go through complete variations and make corrections. I like to think it was constructive. Happy healing Hannah!
🤗 Great to hear about your progress on week 2 of your recovery. You'll get there eventually, like when you had your left ankle worked on. Hopefully, this will keep your career going for a while.
🤗 I’ve just ordered my first pair of Halara leggings …I love the style! And I’m loving your flexibility course. Keep taking care of the ankle, you’ll be back dancing in no time x
Hang in there and FaceTime with Reagan❤ Understandable that you feel blue! Your body is recovering and it takes time. It can be frustrating to feel you are missing out of Nutcracker season after all your hard work. Keep taking your mini trips out and each week will get better ❤ Sending prayers for healing, peace and comfort!!!
🤗 Thx for being so transparent! I pray your recovery goes well now that the stitches are out. My 18 yo dancer spent all Summer recovering from a right ft fracture. She had to start the school year at her ballet academy 4 weeks late and it was really hard on her but with Gods help she’s doing really well now. I get it when you spoke about 1 step forward and two back. 😅
You’re doing great. Recovering from surgery is often 2 steps forward 1 step back. You will get thru this period and reach the stage of continual improvement. Getting out is so important to keep your spirits up. The 4am wake up is something that happens to me a lot 😂. Absolutely hate it. Your family is so wonderful and supportive. Listen to your mum! Keep up the recovery process and trust in God to get you thru this. You’re still young and time to let yourself make a full recovery without pushing it too hard.
🤗 I’ve had 9 surgeries, which included double knee partial replacements, and many years of Physical Therapy. I’m now dealing with tennis elbow for a second year (so painful). All this to say I’ve experienced really good days during my recoveries and really bad days. On the good days I’ve always pushed myself a little harder only to then take two steps back for the next week. But then the following week I was a little bit stronger. You’re going to have those days (good, really good, really bad) throughout your recovery….just remember that it’s OK to feel frustrated on the lose bad days but that you’re ARE making progress forward! As one of my physical therapists once told me, it’s better to recover slowly and be better in the long run than rush through recovery and end up weaker in the long run. Long term gains are the goal! You Got This!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
🤗 thanks from Germany. I' m having similar Situation waiting for recovery . Thanks for encouragement. It will be fine. God bless you and your familiy ❤
Hi Hannah. Just wanted to share as an ex-nurse who has had several foot surgeries, NEVER has it been advised to not sweat! I have too many platelets, take Aspirin, and so bleed profusely. Never has the blood affected the stitches, so a bit of sweat will be fine. Hope you get back to dancing soon x
You are so cute! I really get it. I'm sick and my mom is taking care of me and somehow having your mom with you as an adult makes you feel like a child again. 😊
I know it's frustrating and you want to speed up the recovery process. Be patient with yourself as we as with your body. I've had a broken bone in my foot, a torn meniscus, 3 bulging discs in my back, sciatica...you get the picture. What I try to think of is that these are humbling experiences that puts one in one's place, as well as a time to rejoice in the awesomeness of our body's ability to heal. One day you will look back and see how far you've come. You have a great mom to keep you on track. Be thankful!
My brain also does the new idea thing at night. Over the years i have gount that when it does that and i need to sleep i write the idea down on the notepad that is next to my bed. Then my brain goes idea secured mode and i can go to sleep instead of brain working on idea all night.
Thanks for the analysis! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Oh hon what I would give for a strong body! I had a brain and heart injury I’m using a walker… I live in Canada in brutal cold a little bit of the blues ok you are going to heal and do better when upyou get down remember. There are people like with horrible illnesses and injuries. I’m trying to manage the pai. I can’t work out either which is soshard but I’m trying to remain positive 19:25
You should have had a physical therapist to supervise your exercise program when you 1st started weight bearing this is the trickiest point in recovery. Even 1 or 2 appointments would have helped. They don't do that in England?
You're healing wonderfully, Hannah. It's normal to improve and get worse and go back and forth. It's also normal not to feel cheerful and filled with gratitude all the time. But you know, if everything were great and we were always happy and had everything we needed, we would never have to ask God for help. Thank you for your encouraging talk at the end! Here's an anthem to encourage you in turn: ruclips.net/video/jl2_gSExTA0/видео.htmlsi=D5Mp9odpgtWePRG9 🤗
Arnica gel for the bruising...frankincense with DMSO gel for pain relief/soreness..... Might see if either might be of any use to you. Praying for your recovery ! 🙏🏼 Thank you for sharing, even the hard days. We can do hard things!!! 😊
Hannah, I’m praying for you and your recovery. ❤️🩹 Think of it as Footprints in the Sand , but backwards: in the beginning the Lord carried you, then He gave you strength to walk with one foot 🦶🏻 and finally He will help you walk again with full perfect footprints 👣 💪🏻🇧🇷🇵🇹🇷🇴🇷🇺🇺🇦🩰❤️🩹➡️❤️ 16:47

It hurts for a reason...it wants to heal, rest, ice and elevation. You'll just prolong your recovery doing too much too soon.
She is on track.
No, you have to move. RICE is an old fashioned approach...
