Maligne lake canoe trip | Jasper National Park | Alberta

An unforgettable and stunning trip paddling Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta. It is one of my favorite experiences in the Rockies. This 22km long lake is surrounded by incredible mountains views and is such a peaceful place to be. The majority of people visiting Maligne Lake embark on a 1 hour lake cruise to Spirit Island which is actually one of the most photographed placed in Canada. But if you want to see anything past this point of the lake, the only way to do it is by paddling. And with three backcountry campsites dotted along the shore, you can extend your day on Maligne Lake into a seriously multiday backcountry experience.

Definitely a great place to go paddling. Super hard booking the campsites though! And it can get real cold at night, even on a hot day in the summer.
