    Nevermind bro, I got it. I just missunderstood the cache of the brush tool LOL. Really nice and clean tutorial! Glad that youre not showing unnecessary things like a webcam or something (Like many other channels SADLY do lol).

    how could I rotoscope your guy wihout the mountains, I mean could you create just a transparent clip of just the guy standing there talking for instance. i want to resize the clip to just the size of the guy, no mountains, i would like to create an object that i can then attach to walls or ground.? Yes? No? maybe so?

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      That’s what the whole tutorial is about. If you finish the tutorial you’ll be left with a video without a background. The end of the video just shows what you can do by separating your subject from the background.

    Please how I can duplicate the actor many time in main video (like 5:31 min from your video)

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      You can just copy and paste the layer and then move the position of each copied layer either left or right. Use key frames to animate them moving from the original position if you need to!

    Mine highlights the border of the video not the person

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      Sounds like the footage you’re trying to roto has a lot of similar looking pixels so it’s selecting the whole video.
      HOLD alt for windows or option for Mac to activate the subtract mode (this means you’re telling after effects which parts you don’t want highlighted) and paint out the bits you don’t want.

    thank u i need help tho so my subject have dark colours and it's kind of look the same as the colours of the background so the brush keeps selecting the whole things even when i use a very tiny brush

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      Might have to manually mask in this case! I’ve heard of people adjusting the curves so it’s brighter, precomping and then trying to roto that but I’ve never done that method myself.
      Sorry I couldn’t help but I’ll keep an eye for some other ways!

    Can you tell how to subtract an object and remove subtracted background layer from the main video?? You did not tell in the tutorial

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  3 года назад +1

      I did show it in the video. When you finish rotoscoping, your footage it won't have a background and will only show what you selected with the rotobrush.
      If you're confused because the footage at the end still has the same background, it's because I put the background back in to show the layers have been separated and you can change them independently of each other.

      Maybe you need to click "toogle transperancy grid" in AE

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  3 года назад

      You'd have to also export it with an alpha layer, which is a setting you can toggle in the render queue, or export it as a webm file in media encoder.

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      Drag and drop what ever background you want underneath the layer you rotoscoped. This is a rotoscoping tutorial i.e removing a background, not how layers work in After Effects.

    After you clicked on Freeze you do a hard cut and have a black background. I've no idea how to turn off the background. :(

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      My bad! You can uncheck the view mode you have selected and it should show your footage without a background. Also, if you click back into your composition from the tabs up top it should show your footage without a background too. Let me know if this helps! Thanks for watching 😀

    How do you do the last part - is the man on his own layer? How do you duplicate it?

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  2 года назад

      Once you’ve rotoscoped your footage you’re left with a layer that has only your subject (a person in this case) in it with no background. You can put a different background behind your subject by dragging and dropping another video file or image underneath your rotoscoped layer. You can also drag in the original video under it and make changes to it (like making it black and white) and it won’t affect your subject. To duplicate your subject multiple times just copy and paste it or use the motion tile or repetile effect.

    the trim part at the beginning makes it all confusing like does the real video start at 0:50 if i dont care about cutting my video or i gotta follow the trim section aswell? mad confusing

    • @bgoodstudio
      @bgoodstudio  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback. Some people might want to know how to trim videos within After Effects rather than doing it in another program, making the whole process much longer.
      I understand you don't need to know how to do it personally but that doesn't mean other people don't want to know. It's exactly why I put in chapters.
      What exactly about it was confusing?
