- In this video bonnies kits are now 5 weeks old. All of their eyes are open and they are starting to venture out of the nest and eat meat.
I show you what I'm feeding them at this early age, the colouring in their fur and the size they are now.
The next video of these kits will be at about 8 weeks old and I will do a live stream from in the penthouse. I will be in there with these 7 kits and bonnie.

Thanks mark much appreciated 👍
Thanks so much for sharing your videos. Seeing the kits grow reminds me how of getting a ferret was the best decision in my life, despite losing him, after so many years, being the hardest moment in my life. Watching these kits grow remind me I have so much love to give to ferrets still.
Yeah they're little heart breakers

Hi mate,
A complete beginner here. Finding your videos so informative and helpful
I’m in the process of building them a shed conversion with adjoining run.
I’m thinking of getting 3 hob kits
When do u recommend i get them neutered?
Thanks for your time
Thanks 👍
It's up to you really. They won't come into season until next year. So you could wait until around march April time next year. That's when they'll start to come into season.
Brilliant
thanks for the quick reply

Hiya mate thinking of getting a ferret done some research I’m 17 I was wondering what is more likely to be more tame a Jill or a job?
Hob
Both are as tame if handled enough
How long do your ferrets live for on average? Is it normal for them to show signs of cancer/illness in their older years? I live in America, so my only experience with ferrets have been breeding farm ferrets. Two of mine died before they were three (both had cancer) - I've heard that ferrets outside of America are healthier and I'm curious to know if this is true.
My eldest hob is 7 this year. He isn't as active as the younger ones and his two brothers I also had have passed away. They can live anywhere up to 10 years old if looked after correctly.
@@ruralpestcontrol Thank you!
@@ruralpestcontrol i got a old polecat here he 12 years old and like a big kid
I’ve got a thew hobs struggling to find places to go
Hi have you got any tips on how to introduce two hob ferrets together. Thanks for the great videos.
What age are they. ?
One and two years old.
@Duster Davies so they'll both be in season at the moment unless you've had them done. If they are currently in seperate hutches swap them over for a few days so they can get to smell each other. Then introduce them to each other but stay with them for a while so that you can seperate them if needed.
@@ruralpestcontrol Ok thanks for the grate advice.
@@leedavies2646 no probs 👍
Would you be selling any off these ferrets we are looking to get our first one in the next few weeks
There is 4 hobs available
@@ruralpestcontrol Great how much would you be selling them for and where are you located we are in Lincolnshire
I sell them for £10 each and I live near york
Hi what is the size of your penthouse?
I think it's 5 X 6 foot and 6 foot tall
Would u recommend hobs or jills 🙂
I personally don't think there's any difference. Whether it's for a pet or working. Both are as tame if handled from an early age and both can work as well as each other. The only issue you can have is when they come into season each year.
Hello mate, any advice on introduce a Jill kit to a group of 3 adult jills?
How old are the older Jill's ?
I think the only thing you'll find is that the older Jill's will try and mother the kit. If you are there with them when you introduce them you'll be able to keep an eye on them. Let them see and smell each other first through the wire, or swap their hutches over so they can get use to the smell of each other first.
Rural Pest Control Whitwell the older jills are 3 and 5. Should I wait for the kit to get a bit older and bigger or no? Thanks mate!
They'll want to mother it more cause it's that time of year. If your currently keeping them in seperate hutches swap them over for a few days so they can smell each other. I don't think they'll do any harm to the young Jill it just might be a bit much for her when all three are trying to mother her.
Rural Pest Control Whitwell thanks a lot bud
@@perryreed3338 no worries 👍 good luck I'm sure they'll be fine
How/best way to train ferrets bought two from. Hunting stock they are 8 weeks old now?
Train them to do what. ?
@@ruralpestcontrol hunting. Be confident about them not stay in there and coming out?
You can't really train them to catch rabbits. It's their natural instinct, all you can do is put them in front of a rabbit hole and hope for the best. The more they go the more they get use to it. Some are better than others.
