holy cow, Midori and Fami so close it's unimaginable, so jealous!
I agree with you entirely, I've seen them in large venues in Japan and festivals in the UK but I think that's a once in a lifetime opportunity to see them up that close. From the way the bonded with the crowd during the soundchecks you knew it was going to be something special and Miyako forever the perfectionist made sure the sound was good, as for Fami she fits in so well it's as if she's been in the band from the start. Asami enjoyed the banter with the crowd, Midori forever smiling and how does Haruna keep the brutal drumming up without rest. As musicians they can't be bettered and seeing the human side made it even more enjoyable and I think at least half the crowd have tickets for Islington.
They are LOVEBITES and they play HEAVY METAL.

I did see you speaking to some people outside. I'm in your video but only from the back stood in the queue from approx 3.17 to 3.48 with the bald head and blue jacket. The door that I am stood at the side of opened a couple of times to let venue staff in and I caught a glimpse of Fami looking out and gave a wave and got a little wave back. I felt like a little teen fanboy for a few seconds. I think that was the hospitality room behind those shutters.
This band loves their Fans so much they will take a $$$ hit to play at smaller local Music Hall's. You lucky Devils. World Class Live Performance on a Beer budget. Outstanding!

It was a fantastic gig. I was so knackered that on the way home i literally couldn't get up the last flight of stairs at London Bridge! 😂 I had to have a rest! Such a great evening and the train home was a zen moment. An hour and a half on a train with only 2 other people on it and reliving what i'd just seen.
My turn in 2 weeks, and I can't wait. Thanks for the review, I'm a bit nervous cos I'm still feeling effects from radiotherapy, but just getting to see this awesome band is going to be worth it 💯.🤘🎤🥁🎸🎹🐺🇬🇧

Great vlog man! This gig looked amazing. There’s nothing wrong with a big band playing a small venue from time to time, you could tell from your footage that the ladies enjoyed this performance just as much as you lucky guys. Big respect to Lovebites!
Fantastic vlog !! Thank you for this ! It was also very good quality - both visual and audio. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the ladies flew half-way around the world, and landed with only about 24 hours before the gig. Not sure how much rest they had on the flight and when they arrived, but if it was me, I'd be terribly jet-lagged. It certainly won't be me performing a fast-paced metal show for nearly 2 hours after a long flight ! And they did it with energy and broad smiles all the way through. It shows how phenomenal this band is.

Yeah, you have to plan the time correctly, or you will get yourself into trouble quick. You need the rest time after the jet, and in-between shows. Lovebites has 2 days off, then they will be at their next show in Germany.
Jetlag is worse going east. They went west. Although they probably went north to stay away from Russia. They'll have the worse jetlag going home.
@@jefffromchicago6321 It depends on which sector or route they took. As you have mentioned, if they took Japan Airlines, they could have gone east and then north via the polar route (crossing Alaska). It takes slightly longer but they could have done that just to avoid getting too close to Russia/Ukraine as well as Russian airspace "tolls". In a way, that's still heading "eastward" to a certain extent as they cross the International Date Line and gain one day.

Fantastic footage. And what a professional band they are - playing that dwarfish venue and then giving it all. i love this band even more now - if that's possible. Tuesday I myself will be seeing them live in Lindau/Germany. My day of the year.
Looks like it was an awesome concert, and getting to see their sound check was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Wow .. very nice. In the end i always loved concerts in smaller locations much more than in bigger halls or stadions. I remember back in the days i saw first Al Di Meola in a smaller location and a few days Frank Zappa and then Peter Gabriel in a bigger hall, and the Al Di Meola concert was just so much better because of the intimcy it had. I mean Zappa and Gabriel were of course also fantastic, but seeing them just from a distance is not the same like when you can nearly touch them.

It was an amazing experience and I absolutely agree with everything you said. To be so close to the girls was just surreal. At one point Midori got her hair dangled over her nose but had to carry on playing, I almost leant over and moved it for her!!!
But yes, on a selfish level, it was like a private show. They were so cool, reacting to the audience, respnding to calls from the crowd. They even came to say hello to us early arrivals in the queue. Super talented, highiy professional and yet still so humble. I feel so blessed to have experienced it...and hopefully we will do it all again on June 1st!

Two things: It must be nice to play a small gig with the crowd right up to you every so often - visceral , and I didn't think Fami could be more adorable but I was wrong. Great show to be at
Dude… No need to apologize for anything!! You covered it perfectly, getting all those snippets, and enjoying it yourself!! Besides, you caught the best moment in the show - the fist bump between Midori and Miyako after the solo in “We the United” (with the wave from Fami coming in a close second!). Thanks for sharing!!
Nah the best bit of the show was when the crowd chanted "Fami, Fami" after she was introduced by Asami and Fami looked really embarrassed !

Very cool, Great footage to show the band in such a pure raw moment. Fami & Midori looked happy and Asami was really showing the crowd what she is made of, such a great band live. I hope the small clubs are behind them, the stage was tiny, and they had to carefully tiptoe around each other. Thanks for the excellent report and footage, showing us the experience.

What a concert the band were dynamite. I got in early to go get the merchandise which was downstairs . The ladies were trying to sorth out their sound issues, and we walked across the hall to get downstairs. When we got our merch we went back upstairs but queued at the entrance to the hall. But some dude orobably venue management ushered us in. I could see the look of surprise on Asami's fac e but she soon recovered and we saw them trying to fix their sound issues and Asami would occassionaly make a joking comment to us. It was like a free concert as the band would start playing whilst they tried to sort out the issue. I think it was to do with in ear monitors, non of the ladies could hear Asami. After about half an hour the ladies left the stage (beer time?) but Miyako came back and I suspect it was her and the audio guy that got it sorted. During all this the ladies were in their street clothes, and I wouldn't have minded if they had played the gig like this. However when they came on in their new outfits I think my jaw hit the follor, they were stunning and Asami well what can I say, I have no words to do her justice. The concert was just amazing. I was right up front almost directly in front of Asami, I could have stretched out may hand and shook hands with her. What an amazing vocalist first off, but also what a fantastic, dynamic, engaging frontwoman. Always moving, dancing, engaging a fan with her eyes and pointing at them and smiling. I also had a great view of Fami. Fami and Asami seemed to have no hangups about playi ng a small venue, Asami especially seemed to be having a ball. Couldn't see much at all of Midori as she was off to my far left, and I should have had a great view of Miyako but the was a fricking pole in the way. B y the end of the concert I was knackered and soaking in sweat. I was a bit self conscious at the Meet and Greet getting my photo taken with the ladies in case I smelled all seaty but they didn't seem to mind. What amazed me Asami did not seem to sweat despite all her movement on stage. I have long wanted to see Band-Maid in a small venue but guess that will never happen and so glad I was able to Lovebites in on e in all their pomp and glory (I suspect that may never happen again after this tour of Europe and US). Sorry about the long spiel but I enjoyed myself so much and was so impressed with them
Thanks for the detailed report. Glad to hear the show was a success, even if the venue was too small for them. You guys probably should have exited the venue to let them do their sound-check. Out of respect. But I know everyone wants as much time with them as they can get. It was cute to see them in their street clothes.

What an amazing intimate experience❤. Something Japanese fans rarely experience themselves. Imagine an intimate experience like this with say, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rainbow and Ritchie Blackmore, back in the day. Treasure these moments.
They really deserve world glory. Need much better marketing and more shows in Europe and USA too. They have everything a band needs to have to become like Metallica famous, od Megadeth. Love them so much

Two thoughts. 1) This was great, thanks for sharing. 2) This is why they need to be opening for a major band as a supporting act. They belong on a big stage in front of thousands of people.
Did Kiss ever open for another band? I think other bands( Metallica/Dream Theater) fear their greatness 👍🏻🐺😎
LOVEBITES opened for several well-known bands ( before the pandemic). The last concert of LOVEBITES outside of Japan was in January 2020 (Singapore). After a 4.5 year break, LOVEBITES has to start all over again. From simple to complex. There are five major rock festivals ahead (including the mainstage of Hellfest, the 2nd headliners in Atlanta).
@@785uli RUSH opened for KISS. I could see Lovebites on tour with Megadeth. But Mustaine has an ego, not sure he wants Lovebites stealing all the attention! 😆

@@kylenavyguy He likes to control everything. He will soon retire, and Lovebites will be the ones at the top. Lovebites doesn't need anyone's help. They are in control of their own destiny.

I read a lot of comments about the small place, but in the end it's the opinion of those who were there that counts.........everyone seemed to be having fun (as did our girls) and I envy everyone who was there.........maybe one day they here I am live too (perhaps not as close as you)..........should we wait for another blog?

I hope in the future, Lovebites can get more attention in Europe...live in bigger venue, and get more respect....they are the best metal band right now....and they deserve more....no matter on video clip or live....they sound exactly the same....that is awesome....don't mean to offense but serously I am very sad to see them live in the small venue like this....but one thing.. they had approved that in every kind of venue they are always awesome

Hello from Canada, thanks for uploading this video you did a great job on it I’m really glad you enjoyed your experience seeing LOVEBITES in person (ngl I’m kinda jealous lol it would be nice if they came to Canada someday lol) anyway I hope the ladies lived up to the hype we have been giving them but as long as you enjoyed it that’s all that matters. On a side note I noticed that a lot of major brands have been downgrading their venues and even cancelled their shows because of poor ticket sales where as LOVEBITES have been upgraded their venues (especially their gigs in the states) but many fans are preferring the more intimate venues over the bigger stadiums and arenas witch is good for smaller venues like the one you were at because it helps them bring in revenue for them over the big ones ✌️👉🇨🇦
There's small then there's REALLY small and i was not expecting the latter we knew it was a small show but none of us really expected it to be a tiny ass pub BUT saying that being so close felt more personal and I got way more interaction with the girls than i perhaps would have if there was another 100/300 ppl wanting the girls attention so it worked out nicely for those attending.

These ladies should be playing stadiums!
I've seen Band-Maid in front of 250 (an additional venue added to the tour in 2019) and they were probably more popular then than Lovebites are now. I'm sure bands at this level play small venues often enough for it not to be a shock to them. I think small venues are great, unless the sound is poor, but normally it is very good if the venue is primarily a music venue.

@@brandydynamite5877 Smallest venue I've been to was "Rathole" in Tokyo, watching The Let's Go's. It claims the capacity is 60, but honestly, I think my bedroom might be bigger.

I was there, too. It was such a precious experience.
took the crowd awhile to get warmed up but once the girls stepped up a gear around stand and deliver the crowd was sold, its harder to get a small crowd like that going and getting the energy.

In 1989 I had a similar experience at a club in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. I was two feet away from a band called MANOWAR!!! I believe it was the first time I saw someone crowd surfing 🤣 A guy almost kicked my head 😯

Every Japanese band over the last 10 years or so have played in these small clubs in Europe and the United States. There are quite a few Band Maid videos of them playing small clubs. Also Rolling Quarts' US and Europe tours.
Epic gig!!! The venue for the next London date (1st of July 2024) is about twice the size. I was getting a bit concerned during the soundcheck when the GA crowd were first let in 'cos they clearly weren't getting any sound into their earpieces, and Asami was saying (in Japanese) to the Japanese crew that they can't perform without it. The situation was genuinely "YABAI".
Yeah, the in-ear-monitors are very important. Yabai indeed. But everything was daijobu in the end. Subarashii.
Man.... I wish they come to Calgary, Canada.... For even west Canada... 100% i would come to their show.

Dammit Reaper, if i'd known you were there i would've said "Hi". Do you know how you can also tell it was an awesome concert? When the concert started the windows were clear glass, by the end you couldn't see out of them cos they were all steamed up from the body heat & energy.🤘😁🤘

@@GaryHolloway-810 $14 bucks for a pint is about right even at a dive here it would be $12 for one we usually have our beer in Pots which is 10oz compared to the Pint of 20oz and a pot is about $10 bucks in most pubs.
