GW have played a blinder with their Necron sales strategy for 10th. They've systematically made almost every unit worth taking at least once during the edition, even if those units don't always stay meta for long. Now it's the turn of Obeisance units, and Szarekhs and Praetorians will no doubt be flying off the shelves in time for Xmas. Very well played, James Workshop! In other news, I hate to nitpick, but why doesn't the Command Barge have the 'Noble' keyword!? It's literally an Overlord on his techno-chariot. The second and third words on the lore section of the datasheet are 'Necron nobles'... MAKE COMMAND BARGES GREAT(ER) AGAIN!

Yeah, I love the idea and something we can look into for you :) Custodoes and necrons are totally different play styles, I would recommend making a list for the Awakened dynasty as most of those units then branch off into the other detachments so helps learn but also preps you :)
I think the Triarch Stalker has some real play now. You get your turn 1 scouting shenanigans, you place it aggressively, and if you end up going second, you just retreat - or if you go first you have options for it to help you score turn 1 stuff. Then the rest of the game it's more of a tech piece, you hyperphase it around to strip cover... maybe a slightly hot-take but I'm thinking the Heavy Gauss for the extra range. And if you keep it at range, it can handle itself against some random melee if it needs to (better then most any other vehicle)... I would absolutely bring this in turn 3 and charge whatever 5 man unit was protecting the opponents home objective. I do wish it was t10 though.......

Going to 400 is a pretty heavy nerf and will change my way of playing I think. Used to play it in every list but now I think I'll remove it with the 6 Skorpekh + Lord I had to combo with Eternity Gate for a juicy charge. Will keep the list as a "for fun" kind of thing, but if I play more competetive I think I'll drop it.
@@WorHammer40k Oh for sure I will! Those guys have been on my "want to play" radar for quite some time, and now wit hthe drop to 100 for 5, I'll experiment with them. Same for Stalker and Annihilation Barge. I hoped they'd give Command Barge the "Noble" keyword as it's got a Overlord model in it, but hey, maybe another time :)
I thought Overlords always benefitted from the detachment rule. It was just because Imotekh and Trazyn didn’t have the Overlord keyword that the rule was off.
The annihilation barge is good against armies that have units or characters that require that they’re within 3 inches of another unit in order to gain something like lone op (might be good into a Necron mirror match if they brought Szeras, HexMarks and reanimators, but it’s gonna require more than 2-3 annihilation barges) maybe use Imotek’s once per game ability to help finish off anything that’s been hit with multiple Malevolent Arking. I still can’t bring myself to taking a Tesla gun mounted underneath because I’d rather have the Gauss Cannon which has three attacks with AP -2 and two damage plus lethal hits.

Immontekh also has a torrent weapon. Not only that, he is also now worth running in OP detachment because they changed the keyword from overlord to noble and he counts as a noble, so he can finally be in a immortal unit and be benefited
I’m pretty much thinking that all of these points increases have to do with how well the big vehicles are doing in the hyper crypt Legion detachment combined with taking multiple C’Tan
I was really hoping the catacomb command barge at least had the noble keyword, not sure why it doesn’t? In ninth edition, I’m pretty sure it had the overlord keyword and with the lack of additional reanimation protocols in the Obeisance phalanx, we’re going to have to over rely on resurrection orbs. The Praetorian Points drop is significant enough for me to take at least one unit of 10 for 200 points. Not sure which weapon loadout is best. However, deep striking them so they gain line of sight to the unit you chose as your worthy foe so they gain plus one to the wound makes me think that the rod of the covenant might be the best way to go because it’s not hampered by the particle caster even though it’s a pistol with three shots and has devastating wounds, if you don’t critically wound, it’s just a strength five, AP0 damage one attack. The rod of the covenant only gets 1 ranged attack but it’s using the exact same weapon characteristics as the rod of the covenant and it’s a two damage weapon. In the fight phase the raw of the covenant only has three attacks but again it has good AP and it deals 2 damage and plus one to wound when attacking your worthy foe.

Just once in a while, I see GW messing with rules for the purpose of driving sales and nothing more and this really gets me goin again.
@@aulusflavius9635 i hear ya! I (dan) have been in and out since rogue trader. It takes a LOT of time and money to keep up with current 40k but i'm still enjoying it - for now
Love 2 units of 10 Flayed Ones with infiltration, and the larger footprint helps prevent enemy units from deep striking certain parts of the board
