That extraction baiting was one of the tastiest things I’ve seen in a Hunt video. Because it turned their cockiness against them. It’s a big part of why I love Hunt. I’ve haven’t enjoyed a PVP shooter in a long long time but the large maps, relatively small amount of players, and the objectives leave all this room for mindgames you just don’t get in other shooters. Great vid!!!
Hey man. Thank you for posting this. I love how you explain deep tactics of the game with examples. Watching your videos got me interested in the game, and I just got a pc to play Showdown for the first time with. Soon. Much support for content like this.
One bait from my part that I'll never forget was in a quickplay match. After a bullet had barely missed me and I had taken cover, I decided to peek just enough to draw another shot, taking the risk of getting shot. It paid off, my enemy missed me and now I knew where he was. Time to counter attack. Managed to win that fight too.
One great bait is the revive of your own mate. When both team are splited by an unpenetrable wall (like stone wall or big mount of mud) and your mate is down to your side and the team other side: start to revive your mate. You can be sure they will rush at you. Wait to hear them run, stop your revive and welcome them with a good shotgun shot!
Coming from a ps4 perspective, I've noticed burning is better bait than leaving them for a revive. A lot of the players are newer and start to panic, then usually rush the body to put the fire out. I'll use that strategy if I'm getting impatient with how drawn out a firefight is getting.
Great Video! Can you do one on the efficiency of fanning on different revolvers? Because it seems that the firerate and accuracy get differently affected by it, depending on the gun.
i appreciate this channel. im hoping to learn some new skills. my typical game, i usually get murdered out of nowhere and i never catch a glimpse of the enemy. im sick of it.
one of my favorite ways to bait: Run away and find a thick bush to hide in. wait till the guys after you are about an asshair away from you, and unload on them with a fast firing weapon or a shotgun
I use it when I’m solo a lot. Not automatically, but if a server is still full and I’ve downed half a duo and the other half is holed up trying to pull me into a trap, I’ll just burn to pull them out. The reason is because every second I’m moving around a compound for them to finally make a move (or chasing them) is a second I can get shot in the back by another approaching team. It’s happened too many times haha. So I have an internal timer, then it’s time to burn. It also doesn’t seem unfair solo because I’ve got zero revives by default
It's interesting to watch this after the announced change to reviving where you can revive red-skulled teammates if you have the bounty, since you totally would have been able to save your friend there after taking down those two pursuers, if the change had been enabled back then.
What do you think about the current state of hunt? I have stopped because of the numerous bugs in teh game and it does not seem like they are able to fix it any time soon?
Well the last update made my game crash several times before I had to re-install the whole thing, but other than that it seems to be running pretty well. The no exp bug after pretty much every update is a big pain though. As far as the sandbox, it's in a pretty great place at the moment.
My squad and I make some noise for a while, I then toss a decoy grenade at the same location while we run as fast as we can to another location. Enemy team shows up near the grenade...XD and we start shooting hehehe.
One great tip on this topic: Silenced Nagant. It literally is THE distraction tool. If done well you can shoot lanterns, birds, barrels from more than 100+ meters away to let enemies think there are people somewhere else. Also shooting within 30m range from another direction, makes them think the shots are coming from somewhere else. Actually hitting them, for example, will let them see where the shot came from, so don't. Take a sniper and a teammate with anything but a sniper. Use this tactic. See you wins grow. Never take the winnie sniper. It's shit for this purpose.
Cheers, for most players that have been with hunt since early access, hunter is our default setting, as their was no gunslinger control scheme until the 1.0 launch. Gunslinger also has several significant drawbacks: 1. Your weapon is always raised, so it will often protrude through windows and walls giving away your position. 2. It only takes one click to misfire, thus accidentally giving away your position. 3. It restricts your field of view, with hunter you are able to keep a wide field of view, or raise your weapon at will to provide a slight magnification when you need it, without fully scoping in. 4. Having an extra button to melee makes it a bit more clunky. Unless I have spare buttons on my mouse to bind to, I cannot hold a heavy melee at the ready while moving in different directions, jumping, and crouching, it's far easier to use the hunter setup if you need to melee in a pinch. For these reasons, I will not touch Gunslinger.
@@sniperfood86 lol what a childish response. 4FS gave a perfectly concise reason why its generally better to use the default control scheme.... Some people

@@sniperfood86 It's 3 points and they actually lowered the RoF on top as well believe it or not. Used to be 60 rpm, its now 50 rpm. @@WinnebagoPygmyPorno Nope, look at 8:51 min, the weapon selection icons are black & white like in 6.0, where'as in a later clip at 9:36 min the icons are colored indicating this later clip is from 1.0. @@bellator11 You could be right, but I'm just going from memory and it wasn't a long time ago. It might be just before 1.0. However, ascendance hardly ever uses the ping and also looking at when he checks the map it has the same layout as in 1.0, but does not display any perks. Thomas Eli Nielsen I wouldn't go that far haha, gunslinger is great for new players that want to jump right in using a more familiar setup.
