  • Here we have a look inside the locking mechanism of Audi A4 door. Lot's of fidgety small pieces and scary springy sprongy springs inside!

    Thanks for taking the time to do this video , I was just about to give up with my A5 coupe lock , I couldn't work out how the 4 way spring fitted ,.. all back together and working now ..

    Surely u don't need to open the both sides and just remove the cover for the 2 motors and then u don't have this carry on?

    Hi. Do you know why after combine with The Black part... And I tighten the screws, The mechanism not work, sims like something press The Green and yellow parts and dont let The motoras to work.. After relise the screws and The Black and White parte are shaking a little... Everything work.. What can press on the mecanism, did happening also to you?

      The peg on the cam that goes into the green part is very short. With the small grey inspection plate off you will need line the green slider up with the cam and push the green slider from behind with a small screwdriver to engage it with the cam so it connects in the same way as the longer yellow one does.

      This is best done with the black arm above it removed. Use a pair of small pliers to take off spring and you will need to pry off plastic arm at spring end with a small screwdriver. Hope this helps.

    I broke that piece also and glued it. Yours is holding?

      I glued it with cyano acrylate. It held for a year. Then I replaced the whole actuator because it started acting wonky again.

      @@FizzlNet Thanks man. I replace the whole thing, i bought it second hand, because i was afraid of breaking.

      Sorry. Most of my videos are kinda haphazardly made. Just wanted to share my findings after watching some other videos on the subject and what did they miss.
