I'm new to Islam. I've been struggling my whole life wondering about my identity. It's as if my whole life has been just one journey to my discovery of Islam. Growing up in a mostly white, Western/Christian paradigm, nothing answered my deep questions..
The answers are in Islam. I'm sure of it. Some family and friends have raised eyebrows..
There are many different scholars of Islam on RUclips, I don't want to say which ones I don't like, but I get a really good feeling from Nouman Ali Khan. Very uplifting lecture..salaam

Very happy to read your comment brother Jason Mckenzie.
My native tongue is not English, but of all the hundreds of Muslim scholars around the globe, Nouman Ali Khan is one of the few lecturers and Quran teachers that I specifically listen to although his lectures are in English, and the reason is because he does indeed have something different and great to offer in his lectures and wisdom. May Allah Almighty reward his efforts with the best of rewards.

salam brother Jason and welcome. I read your comment and wanted to advice you to be careful where you take your information from, since Islam has a couple of sects and you could watch a video(or read a book) from someone that doesnt belong to the major sect of Islam which is Sunni. 90 percent of Muslims are Sunnis, about 10 percent are Shia and there are some other minorities like Sufis...etc. So please be careful, and at best go to your local Mosque to get further guidance on wnat sources of Info are reliable.

There's so much I can internalize from this, and the first on my list is : "Apply yourself in anything you do. Whatever you jump into, dive in. Dive in. And really dive in. And don't be afraid to fail and try things." Jazakumullah

This is one of the most helpful videos I've ever watched. I am at a point where I don't know what to do but it makes sense to go out there and try things rather than sit and ask advice from every one you know and then be confused and do nothing, Do not be afraid of failure, it only exposes the cracks in the wall. It shows you what you are good at and like and what you do not like. Taken in this sense, is failure really failure? Salaams

I once heard it said that we should "make a friend of adversity" knowing that most folks are too fearful of being overcome. My love of Allah and hunger for a relationship with Him proceeds from the trust that I need never fear being abandoned to my outcomes or ever confront these challenges alone. People are always looking for a safety net or some sort of hedge against painful results all the while being held by Allah's protective embrace. Next time you see an infant taking its first steps with a protective parent hovering near know that Allah attends to our efforts with an identical focus....and more. Alhamduillah.

Yeah, doesn't it? :D The Qur'an is so beautiful and everytime I read it I can see the world in a better perspective and get the 'oh so that's what I'm supposed to do' feeling, like it refreshes my aqidah (refreshes?)
May Allah unite our hearts in our effort of understanding the Qur'an better!

I found Islam 10yrs ago, I decision I made privately and Committed to stay to it, tbh it hasn't been easy for me, but I held/ still holding on to it because I know I am worshipping the one true God. I lost my family to this, only one of my sibling speaks to me, to they rest I am just like the devil. Got married to my husband over 7yrs ago, a Muslim, thought Allah is sustaining me in HIS Deen, but my husband made a mockery of me that I reverted so he will marry me and that I begged him to marry me. I have never been hurt like this in my entire life, if one can feel pain after death, this will still hurt me. I wished for death to take me, my life for the past 10yrs seems like a lie... I am lost... I don't know who I am anymore. Pls pray for me.

I'm sorry but it's better to stay happy alone than be sad and suffering whilst in a relationship.
If your family isn't happy with you, it's okay. Be patient be the best you can and avoid harm if they intend to do it to you. You could stand on your own two feet and still be happy you know, you don't necessarily have to be with someone else. Trust me, it's more relieving.

Assalamualaikum. I’ve been watching your RUclips beginning this Ramadhan.. Your explanation is so easy for me to understand and I appreciate it very very much. Though I’m not well verse in Arabic but I do read the Quran. The amazing thing you have done for me is articulating what’s in the Quran and lynx it to a situation (story) back then, which was not easy to grasp when I read from the Quran translation. Thank you. Now I’m able to answer the questions that comes from my 3 teenagers. Alhamdulillah and again thank you 😊
