I can see you on stage playing somewhere and you've brought your own backdrop.....the tub and blue tile back ground.....too good man....you killin it...!!
I just wanted to tell you that you have nailed Big Bill Broonzy tunes. Very great skill. I hear the punch more in your technique than any one else that I have seen on the internet. Except Big Bill himself! Great work. One day I'll learn this too! :(
Thanks for posting this video, man. I've been working on learning this tune by ear for a few weeks, and being able to see someone playing it has made all the difference in the world. I still don't have it down as well as you, but I'm getting there.
Great job! I've just understood how to play better this tune which is one of my best favorites since I first heard it 30 years ago. Thank you Eddie. P.S. I agree with you: the bathroom is the best place where play guitar in a house!
really great videos! appreciate you sharing. spot on. can you get the same sound on a new Martin or is there a bit of magic in the old guitar you're playing and how it's set up/worn down? What guitar are you playing in those videos from 10 years ago anyway? again, awesome playing.
Thanks a lot!...it certainly is an old guitar..a washburn I got at 12yrs old in 1979, about the same time I heard Broonzys version of the tune. I don't know about magic but I do put a capo on the first fret and then drop the tuning back down to standard which makes the strings a bit looser....I'm sure the Martin will sound great! Cheers
real good job! great thumb work. very faithful indeed, really good feel. Clever idea to tune down and get the capo 1rt fret, to get the jangly Big Bill sound. Big Bill had a plain G string to make it even more so Not an easy tune. Many suspect the original recording was sped up in the studio. I am teaching this tune this fall at Passim School of Music. BTW, Check out Bob Riesman recently released fabulous Bio of BBB:" I feel so good". Cheers, Bertrand
excellent! i can play this tune, just not as smooth as you do though, im gunna try and play in the bathroom too just to see what it sounds like! well done, best version on youtube.
RUclips won't let me link to it but CanadianFolkBlues has the program from which the studio version was cut. It is part 7 of "Blues with Big Bill Broonzy, Sonny Terry & Brownie Mcghee" Starts at 1: 54
Great job on Broonzy's Rag. I transposed the piece to D tuning while working on D stuff and made my own arrangement but your's in the best I've seen since Broonzy! Well done. Keep the blues alive brother.
Live from my bathroom !!! Gotta Love it... Big Bill would love it too. Nice relaxed version. Thumbs way up!!
if it were not a video I'd swear it was big Bill!

Hello Sir - Do you still happen to have the tab for this? If so, I would love to try to learn it! Thanks in advance
Niiiiice!!!!!
Nice right hand.
lovely jubbely
Ehen you sing taking a shit you do it bluesy
is that a standard tuning? i've always wanted to play that tune and with your video it now seems doable. great job!!!!!!!!!!!
He seems to be tuned down a half step and capoed on the first fret, meaning that he's essentially playing in standard.
+Joseph Kirby
Makes the strings a little looser. That bend is easier then.
is that standard tuning or what's the tuning
