Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

Since your kitten is a longhair, I'd definitely recommend to start getting her used to being brushed! (You'll thank me later lol) I recommend just a metal comb, those seem to work the best.
It's really strange to thing that I started watching your channel almost 8 years ago, you guys were there when my granddad past, you guys help me stay sane when my mother past, through me getting through high-school. This may seem like a dumb question ⁉️🧐 can goats be superficial... Lionesses actually prefer lions with darker manes and birds prefer birds with brighter colors so I wonder if goats do the same thing
I've heard that some does prefer more aggressive bucks when it comes to breeding, and they might not give a mellower buck the time of day!

@@kayprice7800 I've wondered that too like so they think " oh he's bigger and stronger" and in nature bigger and stronger means they are a great provider or has great genes so I wonder what a goats mindset is
It’s not superficial. It’s natural selection. Lionesses naturally want larger, darker males with larger manes because it shows that they are stronger and will be better protectors than a lion with no or little mane. Darker manes are also usually found on older more experienced lions, whereas lighter manes are generally on younger lions with far less experience. Not superficial, just natural.

Don't feel bad, Kevin. We used to have a Bedlington Terrier (a blue). The dairy farm down the road from us slaughtered a cow who was past her prime, skinned her and tossed the hide and guts behind the barn. Her rotting remains were like a Sirens call to Heidi, who obeyed said call, had a great time rolling around in the remains, then returned home wanting to share her 'delightful' fragrance.
M9m bathed her twice, but still made her stay in the mudroom overnight, so she could be let out in the morning - this time tied to a l9ng rope until Mr VonDrasek could bury the remains as it seemed their Husky was also attracted to the miasma.
So nice for the dogs to be able to swim and DRINK the water! Nice to have the natural pond and not the chlorine of a swimming pool!
I love all the breeding updates! Pokey's doing such a good job and he is very stylish! Thank you for including Juno and Kiwi updates despite the bumper goat news! I'm sorry you got hurt DaNelle, that sucks. Hopefully lots of Juno cuddles will help.

That kitten is one of the cutest kittens I’ve ever seen in my life. I rescued two brothers as kittens in 2020 after the loss of my dad. And they help so much.
I can't wait for Twila to have her big day. She's my favorite, and I know she's going to produce beautiful babies ❤❤❤❤

4:42 - Nah, looks deep but it isn't as if you ripped your skin all the way open. Wipe down with iodine then use liquid skin to seal the area to keep from bleeding. I've cut myself a lot on fencing and I find it'll heal up just fine as long as you keep it sanitized and put iodine on it once in awhile.
Calico's are super independent cats, hard to believe she's gotten so big!
Not all calicos. I’ve had a patchwork calico that would scream if she heard me from another room but couldn’t find me. And I currently have a torishell calico that’s always up my butt
@@moonmanmercury8183 though there is no scientific proof that this occurs in ALL cats it's just common that color pattern comes with a some personality traits. It's a fun thing and I find it is often true for me..but yeah it's not always the case.

The kitten is an adorable patchwork calico.. it’s been awhile since I’ve had a calico marked like her.. mine are tortoise shell cali’s.. gray ones & black ones .. be sure you keep a close watch on your wound …poor Luna was a boyfriend soooo bad😂
I have a cat that is tortie over tabby, I'm so confused by her. She has suddenly decided to not be a witchy tabby and is now a sweet chatty tortie all of a sudden. Like her brain just swapped gears.
😅sorry, bit of a nerd, but technically to make it simple, any white at all (even just a little) would make a kitty a calico if they had two different colors under that! your gray kitty also sounds like they might be a dilute! which is another pretty gene that lightens their primary pattern :)

Coach bolt a couple of 4x1 with the fence sandwiched between to cover those sharp ends. Don't forget to trim the bolts off, the boards can be replaced if they get nibbled.
