A couple of observations: you don't need to buy tools (they are actually quite expensive) as you say at the end, just use a wire. I would suggest an old thick knitting needle to open up the lines for the first steps. The only other thing that you should always do is to taper the end of the line before you bury it inside at the last step. Tapering the line makes a big difference to the final strength as you otherwise make a weak point where the internal line ends.
Thank you for this video. I always wanted to learn how to splice lines so to make short line variations, so I bought the tools you recommended and followed your video. By the second attempt I had success and now feel comfortable to fix and splice any lines I ever break. Thanks again for your video👍🏻👍🏻
not bad. appreciate the video. other vids are showing that the end of the line (which get burried than) needs to be made thinner. as there is the part the lines than are likely to break. so here is a crucial part missing...
Thanks for the feedback. I know it looks better to make the end thinner. So far I’ve used it in several kite lines without ever having any breaks and i have used those lines in strong winds.

I do it a little different. I do the the first mark, then pull it past the second and pull the line through. I find its easier than pulling the loop through the second hole.
I used to do it like that but then i found the line opened. It has to be sown if used that way. If you pull it doesn’t but once the line is slack the eye of the line can open.

Thanks for the subscription. Appreciated. If you practice, it is easy. The tools help a lot. You can make your own if you want also. The key advice is don’t pull the tool but instead help the tool to go into the line
Great video but honestly I haven't seen anybody who have had this kind of tools :-). Maybe some qualified service. I'm still a beginner kitesurfer, but it's good to know that you don't have to buy new lines right away.
If you break 1 line you need to cut all the others to make them have the same length. To connect them you need to make a loop to loop connection. So you will need to make loops in all 4 ends to do this. There is another way to fix it by splicing them together but this method also allows you to shorten the lines if you need it

How do you tape the end of the lines and why it makes it stronger? Thanks
I have fallowed your steps and I can not believe how easy it was and the outcome is incredible I recommend your technique to anyone.
Thank you !
Glad it was useful
Great! But you need to taper the end of the line before burying it. The amount of line that gets buried should also be 50x the diameter of line
Thanks!! Got the tools right away and it works like a charm!
Great. Glad it was helpful

Amazing. Thanks for this tutorial, just bought my tool and i am having fun with it
Glad i could help. Have fun!
Wow! What a great video. Not sure if I will ever do this but it's nice to know that it is accessible. Much appreciated.
No problem it's very handy knowledge specially if you are somewhere you need to fix lines because you don't have another option.
Great skill to have out kiting.... can save a session with this.
Thanks . It can be for sure a session saver.
...gold...that is how old people in my town did it on ropes for big boats...
It’s exactly the same process.

Do you have broken lines that you didn't fix because you didn't know how? Hope this helps you out.
What about adding a knot in the loop to make for a universal loop/knot connection for different kites? Is that doable?
I don’t think you can do it with this technique. If you use a sewing machine it will work i think.

Hi. Nice video. compliments.
Can I find out where I can buy the lines and how thick they are?
This method I use to fix broken lines. But on the description of the video there is a link to the company that sells the tools and also the line.

I know the machines that are used for that but I don’t own one. And I do hate to fix bladders so I normally find someone to do that for me.

Hi - where Can i buy the sewing kit? Thx for Great videos/: jakob
You have a link on the description of the video
nice but at 2 min 42 sec, I don't understand what your are doing with the second loop, could you please help ? ;-)
Hi. If you are talking about passing the line back up, I've found out it's not necessary. So you can skip this step.
By not tapering the bury, the weakest point of the whole line is now the point where the line steps in its thickness.
Great video but honestly I haven't seen anybody who have had this kind of tools :-). Maybe some qualified service.
I'm still a beginner kitesurfer, but it's good to know that you don't have to buy new lines right away.
These are available and used by sailors we just need to use the smaller ones for our lines that are also small, same techniques apply.
3:57 : "if you broke the lines, you have to do it 8 times ". Why is this?
If you break 1 line you need to cut all the others to make them have the same length. To connect them you need to make a loop to loop connection. Looked up the two tools. 26 euros but 44 when delivery added.......too much.
You can make them with alternative material. I’ll try to make a video for that
