Honestly, these turtles look nice even as a repaint of previous versions. They remind me a bit of the 2003 versions. Plus, I would say that their design is a bit of a mix of 1987 and 2003 for me.
I just can't believe, in all the years that Archie held the license, that the Turtles never had a crossover with Sonic & Co.! I would've eaten that up with a spoon!! =D =\
@@TheMainOne. Maybe, but Archie owned the license to both, so why didn't they ever have a full-blown crossover? Sonic had a 2-ISSUE arc with Sabrina the Teenage Witch! =\ But that's still cool to hear. I'll have to go back and look for those. Thanks! =)
I realize that I might be biased because of my fond childhood memories, but early Playmates figures seem so much more interesting to look at. They're more pleasant visually and by touch
April has the extra accessories because the ones inside the package don’t do their job. The suitcase does not close and the gun as camera handle won’t stay inside the camera. The ones taped to the side do work like the originals. At least, they do their gimmick better than the ones on the inside.
I have no problem with Playmates doing the constant reissues and I think this was an interesting concept. The biggest problem I have with Playmates is their inconsistent approach to quality. The super hero set from Walmart last year was fundamentally as well painted as fhe original releases. But then you get something like the Bebop reissue out on shelves now that is just an abomination compared to the original. They've shown they can do great work with these so whenever they take a lesser approach it really shows.
happy TT day and yeaahhh not sure what to think about them just painting them buuuuutttt its always cool to see turtles stuff being sold and on the shelves... i hope they sell well!
They look good, I really like Splinter's new robe and the Turtles brighter green, it's a good way to get an original April as she's a bit harder to come by, but they're definitely lazy. I really wish playmates would bite the bullet and just copy Masters Of the Universe Origins by taking the old figures and updating them entirely with more articulation. The Last Ronin figure they just did was so good, so it's pretty disappointing to see them fall back on repaints of 30 year old figures again.
This Ray filet looks pretty close to how he did in the Mutanimals comics: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mighty_Mutanimals#/media/File%3AMighty_Mutanimals.png
9:11 you forgot that those are the ones that are wrong the black and white and fist realise of those turtels (aka the ones that you still have in the box) are the right ones
@@cubehead8046 that would be nice. However, like Gokuktchum mentioned there are many legal hurdles surrounding most of the Archie comics characters. Even though Sega does own the core freedom fighters, they don’t seem too interested in brining them back in any form.
@@sonictoast Well if they were able to overcome all the legal stuff(and there would have to be some Ken Penders stuff) what do you think they would have other than the obvious

Me too so much potential for a crossover like that
@@gokuketchum =)
The TMNT made a couple of cameos in the Archie Sonic comics.

The Turtles really needed some wrist articulation. All the Aprils I’ve seen have wonky eyes.

This video is turtally awesome

Cool new playmatestoys
Honestly kinda want these just for the mirage turtles in normal colors. Idk I just like the design. But 50 dollars for a 4 back is a little to much

Where can I find April?
Next: Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Sonic the Hedgehog MINIS
Super weird about Aprils extra accessories 🤷♂️
I wish they would make Archie Sonic figures, if not for all that copyright stuff
Yeah, that would be a dream come true
@@sonictoast well jacks would do it since they hold the current rights for sonic figures
