They should add new game + and companions after you beat the game, so you can continue with your wizard/witch all from the beginning but with your levels, potions, etc but higher difficulties. If they add this, the game will be insanely good and add a lot of replayability.

Correct. I don't know why they decided to not implement the companion feature in the game, it's such a shame that we have to resort to using mods to bring that back in. From what I've gathered, the game was supposed to have so many other features too, it could've rivaled a Bethesda/Bioware RPG.

I cant call myself a hardcore player nor casual, somewhere in between, I guess, but I found normal difficulty so easy, that I switched to the hard mod right before final boss. And even then I wasnt that troubled with beating it, even though I was 37 lvl with boss being 39 and I didnt upgrade my gear at all, just changed 2 or 3 traits. The feature of upgrading and adding traits in this game feels like empty decoration, since there is no dire need of "surviving" in this game, when it comes to battles. Wish we had an options of testing our limits in arenas. They are fun as they are now, but some optional challenge would be welcome in this game.
@@YiorKha I know what you mean. When I switched to Hard Mode I expected the enemies to cast Unforgivables at me. If you are playing on PC I downloaded the “Very Hard Mode” Mod which made all enemies either the same level or higher than your characters. The mod also made them attack more aggressively and made our attacks weaker. Made some encounters and missions very challenging.

Yeah I remember when the game was first announced I was really hoping that it would be bit more "choices matter" type game, where if you decided to hang out with someone more than others they would eventually join you for your adventures. Like you would have to choose who you would do a quest with, and picking one would lock the other away.

I’ve been playing with companions for quite a long time, and I didn’t see anything critical (at most in a couple of places the NPC’s route is not registered, but it just teleports to me and everything is fine again), which indicates that the system was removed shortly before the release. In any case, having to run around the world alone is an unpleasant minus, and my optimism tells me to hope for the future (maybe the developers will add this sooner or later? Or will someone make a more convenient and lore mod?).

They should allow for follower companions. Once you gain their trust and loyalty, they are sure to want to help you as much as they'd like. Would help a lot for side quests. Other than the main relationship quests, there are a lot of interesting students I'd like to fight alongside with has a very interesting personality to them. Like the Ravenclaw that gives us a telescope later. He was very helpful! Underrated dude.

I wanted a cat in the Room of Requirement. I also wanted Ominis as a companion. Finally, I wanted to either customize my common room (choose my roommates ie Nerida, Imelda, Sebastian, Onimis. Assign beds and change decorations etc) But I also wanted to choose which companion I could have in my Room of Requirement to tend to one Vivarium of my choosing or wandering the room or reading, studying, researching etc
Ok, I wasnt really going to install a companion mod at first. I thought that outside of quests with party members, NPCs will feel kinda dead inside, but seeing this I now understand that there really was a party system that got removed, which is really sad, honestly, cause this looks amazing. Also through my first playthrough where I just finished main story, but still have, I think, around 40% of map to clear, I was playing as a friendly and kind person. I cant imagen my character going on adventures alone, which was kinda breaking my emersion in the world of the game. Kinda regret a bit now, not installing companion mod sooner.

It annoys me how the NPCs would only turn their heads when they talk to you. You move and they keep turning their heads to follow you, but not their bodies, gosh it looks so awkward, weird and unnatural.
It's interesting to see the game already having all these features for a companion system, but ultimately no companion system outside of storyline quests. Makes you think how much more interesting the companion system would be if the devs actually had a chance to properly flesh it out.
He is the only good character in the game in my opinion. The other ones are all 100% positive, 100% boring 2023 zoomers. I wanna play with bad guys and anti heroes not these wholesome losers like Poppy, Natty and Amit.

It’s quite frustrating to know that the original script files and game contained companionships and in general much more. It’s obvious that releasing this game was rushed. It’s a brilliant game but it would of been great to see gameplay with your favourite characters.

Almost all of, if not most, of the more prominent NPCs are in the companion mod! (Even students like Adelaide, Everett, and Imelda are in it!) Professors and other NPCS such as Officer Singer, Lodgok, Solomon Sallow, as well as the elves and poltergeists are in there too! Although it’s only some of them that have quest specific lines or any voicelines at all if you take them as a companion.

He'll come along with you while you're doing side quests, just make sure they're not his own quest or things will get buggy. I heard he also comments on certain side quests, though I haven't tried it myself.
I tried this thing out yesterday and was able to do one side quest with him (spider one with Mary from Aranshire I believe?) and having done that quest on my own before, I can say he says lines very similar or the same as your character says normally but I still loved that anyway.
Can anyone please tell me how to open the menu to select my companion? I have all the mods installed and when I press F8 the little window opens, I write in AnyTimeC, enter and wait. But then when I press alt + O nothing happens. How do I open the menu? ):
@@MeltsWizards no, I tried it and the companion leaves on its own. =D Then returns after the mission. You do have to disable the companion if its the companion that gives the quest. Or the NPC dont show up
The companion mod also allows you to take Garreth, actually! For the most part, he’s actually really quiet except for when he’s attacked or casting spells. Doesn’t seem like they had any voicelines recorded for anything outside of that 😢 (Which is weird because even Everett has way more lines as a companion than Garreth 😭)
This mod just involves editing your save file using a save file editor and then dragging and dropping a folder into your game directory. Just backup/make copies of your original save files and you should be fine.

I wish Companions are unlocked after beating the main story. I think they just cut this feature and it is really programmed to be like that.
yeah it gets quite lonely after completing all main + side quests. You can’t interact w the npcs anymore after that either.

Yeah especially when you go to some of the bigger bandit camps and your character says something along the lines of it would be unwise to go alone.

You need to either install a mod called any time companion or edit your save files "current companion" line

@@RedCaio The memory you're talking about is after you find a piece of the Tryptich. That's the one he joins you for. He can actually join you for Niamh's though if you have him out with the companions mod and you start the Black and White one in the headmaster's office.
