This was shot in '81. I was the Technical Director. I also wrote, produced and played drums on the theme music. That's me counting off the tune...

@Finsnake God bless you for living the dream and allowing Wall Street millionaire, pathetic career oppor5iiof her also morbidly obese children going to soccer practice where they sat on the bench the entire time and sucked down Gatorade in the hopes of having a diabetic coma and dying of nothing like me who live for this type of music, and curious as to the unimaginably awesome times you must of had on the road with some of the worlds greatest musical minds ever. peace and love my man peace and love

I was working as hostess at the door for this show. After party for band, staff and crew. Lived up on 86th St at the time. It was decided “that little girl “ shouldn’t be out on public transport at that hour. They drove me home , all the way uptown, on the Paycheck tour bus. Such a night. Lonestar Memories.

It was 25 years ago today that the Lone Star Cafe closed its doors. I was at this show, stuffed in there back by the bar with someone's elbow stuck in my back - but it was the best of the dozens of shows I saw at the Lone Star. Such a pity that it's gone!

one of the Bo Diddley tunes on this video is
"Before You accuse Me, Take a look at yourself"
Bo wrote this song and this performance with Moonshine Express, was recorded decades before Clapton put out the same tune... thanks Eric !!!

fyi... Bo Diddelys band was called Moonshine Express. they are Butch Kania ,guitar ,Bob Falk guitar, Mike Phelps , drums, Pete Crisman ,bass,
and Wally "Gator" Sirotich on piano . They became one of the house bands at the Lone Star, and ended up backing such greats as Elliot Randall of steely dan, Richie Havens , Odetta, and many other top acts . wallygator.net

Does anyone know the band members' names from this era? I have a couple recordings from this period, and they're smokin! I was too young to ever see any of this, but thanks for uploading this to watch. Paycheck was one of the best in my opinion! My best friend's uncle was a police officer in Hillsboro when he was arrested. He has some great stories about him.

+DrumD8on The West Texas Music Company: Bass: Michael McBride, Drums: Johnnie Barber, Steel Guitar: Jim Murphy, Piano: Bobby Wood, Guest Guitarist: Barry Chance. They recorded the 1979 Epic LP "Everybody's Got A Family... Meet Mine" then this show apparently after a show here from 1980 released on an lp.
