like i still have no idea what cold war meant for the storyline up until now... the rest of it was a tough pill to swallow on how poorly written it was but we're trying to tie it all together now somehow?
Considering we have slowly gotten more apothicon related monsters in Cold War's life cycle, it makes sense to see The Shadowman return. I'm wondering if this will eventually lead to Dr. Monty returning as well. Having Richtofen doing so much evil for the greater good (preventing the Shadowman and Dr. Monty from returning) is totally within his character.
Yes! I really hope that's the case. Cause I just can't wrap my head around Eddie being evil when he was supposed to be the most 'good' version of Richtofen. Primis was fighting so hard to do the right thing too. Idk it's really weird for them to lean into Richtofen being an unhinged bbeg after the character development we got in BO3-BO4.

Fr. I didn't play vanguard or mw3 and just watching these cutscense makes me lose hope. The story is so bad in mw3. Atleast vanguard went into depth with the dark aether gods but mw3 is straight butt.
I was thinking the same thing. Now, the story seems to be set that weaver/grey die and sam Maxis never made it out of the dark Aether after her sacrifice, I was hoping we would rescue her.
So what im getting from this is that BO6 will be about what do we do to try and bring Sam back, but more importantly what makes us fail to bring her back

I find it really interesting that we have two maps with two campaign things going on. We have the prison map where Weaver and crew are imprisoned basically immediately after the events of Cold war. So I imagine through that storyline will get some idea of how they ended up in that room dead around that table. At the beginning of modern warfare Z storyline. Then we also get the Liberty falls storyline which is the future and takes place after modern warfare Z
While its a direct story continuation from cold war, BO6 zombies is 5 years after the end with them being on Terminus. Liberty Falls is happening at the exact same time, meaning before MWZ. Its implied that Ava most likely was yoinked through the portal to the past and will experience the outbreak there in real time. Liberty Falls will be shown at COD next apparently, next week.

I would watch the hell out of a zombies storyline video at this point. The hype for Bo6 is immense and there is a vast amount of people likely to be in a lapse of knowledge of the storyline due from the past couple of games.

The storyline already shouldve ended with Tag, but now theyre (maybe) bringing one of the 2 main antagonists of the series back too? If they want to make Zombies feel like it has a soul again, bringing back characters that have had their stories told already is not the way to go. Now, Ill still enjoy the hell out of it (I assume at least), but from a storytelling/writing perspective, this just aint it.

He may have her under his control but I actually think the Dark Aether just corrupted her and now they're working in tandem to doubly spread the Dark Aether around the world via more breaches than one can handle. It feels as if tag was really just a goodbye to the original characters, at least that's what i thought until they brought richtofen back into relevance. They just brought everything back from the dark aether as a cool little dimension breach story which is boring and has been done before. Seems they can't stick to anything that isn't the original storyline.
Dr. Jensen being Maxis’ daughter is an interesting concept. I see where this may be going with more and more of Project Janus being highlighted. Richtofen knows that Monty or the Shadowman were not killed from the Old Universe, rather evolved into the new one. Hence his plans around the Dark Aether and Maxis being trapped in there post CW game. The theme of a cycle seems to be coming back with evil Samantha re-appearing. Time will tell how this interconnects, but BO6 will be without a doubt solid as hell.
This looks fantastic. While I did love the old-school style of “show don’t tell” I do like the evolution of this becoming a movie and the storytelling. It’s different but also good

However it seems that Liberty falls specifically will take place in the future while the other map the starter map the one that takes place at the prison will take place in the past prior to modern warfare 3. Which is interesting that we have two maps that take place before and after the story of a previous game

Now we get this cutscene which most definitely takes place after modern warfare z so I think what's going to happen is we're going to have two different story lines. I don't know how deep each of them are going to go if they're only going to have like a one-off for the prison that continues the Cold war and then the rest of it is going to be modern warfare Z's continued storyline or what will have to wait and see
Well similar to how in BO1 Kino took place in 1963 then jumped to 2011. Then BO2 picked up canonically in 2025. Now I gotta be honest I don’t like care for MW3 being integrated with Treyarch’s zombies storyline. I think that Liberty Falls should bring back the Victus crew because there’s motivation against Richtofen, it certainly appears that the Shadowman didn’t stay banished or Dr. Monty possibly. So to bring back a crew that wasn’t canonically dead, i.e. Ultimus and Primis, the Victus crew is the only other crew that would fit well into this new storyline where Richtofen is the antagonist or hell maybe be Richtofen’s accomplices. Just a thought.

Might be controversial to say this but I'd say from the Act 3 (or was it 4?) cutscene with the Zombies hallucination and onward I was actually pretty invested in the story, Ava having a dark half in the Dark Aether that's trying to connect with her gives me Silent Hill movie adaptation vibes with Sharon and Dark Alessa being the 2 halves of Alessa
After breaking this down the last cutscene and looked closely at the figure or Shadowman at this point, is actually 50/50 Hat is different for sure but if you look at his model from BO3 & BO4 the hat matches the description and when the entity reached and pulled ava in the dark aether it looks like part of a suit but however after looking closely its a sleeve of jacket and it matches the same sleeve to what Sam was wearing in Forsaken so my big theory atm is that Shadow-Man is the main Villain this time again and Sam is probably corrupted like how she was back in original aether story cause Monty even said back in Revelations intro cutscene "The One And Only Harbinger Of Doom." So thats my idea how this is playing out and Who knows how Ava will play into that.

Funnily enough it’s always the games people seems to agree are the worse of the franchise that zombies gets shoehorned into. IW, AW, vanguard, and MW2023. The pattern is clear.

So like what is the story? How tf is she Samantha’s daughter and when did Dr. Grey and Ravenov say that they were ever caretakers for Jansen? There’s this implied emotional resonance with this character when the gameplay barely reflects any sort of depth I have for this character. I really hate how MW3 kind of railroaded BO6’s story to probably be about how Dr. Jansen came to be.

MW3s campaign is set in 2023 its zombies mode is set in 2021. Soap doesn't die until a couple years after Zombies.

The only good thing about this story is how it connects to Cold War and how it tries to answer some questions after that ended/ Seeing a possibility of it being connected to bo3 is interesting. But if this ending scene is in 2022, how will bo6 connect it to when it takes place in mw3

@@nuttbag6658no the problem is the games are so rushed they pull resources from treyarch to make it. That’s what happened with vanguard and MW3’s step child. Funnily enough it’s always the games people seems to agree are the worse of the franchise that zombies gets shoehorned into. IW, AW, vanguard, and MW2023. The pattern is clear.

@@connorthegambitgaming but every non Treyarch game outside of WW2 had teams from Treyarch ripped away to make the modes, there is no reason to limit one devs resources because they need the fan favorite mode to sell copies.

Given how poorly Activision and the devs handled MWZ, I'd actually be happy if they retconned it...Or made it its own universe of sorts similar to how they did the original story line.

cool and all but to be honst i stopped caring about the story in BO2 or 3 somewhere. its just to much guckery with timetravel and different realm stuff.

@@lucbrown3091 check the time stamp and you may have to slow down the close up of the apparition in the mirror but I see a hat strikingly similar to the shadow man’s and the fact that he’s more of a shadow than anything I’d say would also point to that.
So like what is the story? How tf is she Samantha’s daughter and when did Dr. Grey and Ravenov say that they were ever caretakers for Jansen? There’s this implied emotional resonance with this character when the gameplay barely reflects any sort of depth I have for this character. I really hate how MW3 kind of railroaded BO6’s story to probably be about how Dr. Jansen came to be.
