Already pulled the trigger. I went to a Callaway demo day. With a 27 handicap I need a lot of help so I tried both these drivers and their accompanying Woods, hybrids and irons. After much testing and deliberation with the fitter, I now have a Big Bertha 23 10.5 driver, 3 and 7 wood. Played my first round with them last week and so far I am very happy with the results.
Got a Paradym X a couple of months ago. Very pleased with it- noticeably straighter with it than previous driver. Do agree about the noise though - it’s so quiet that you often doubt how far it’s gone even when flushed!
Great review, I bought the Paradym X and I’m really pleased with it. It’s so forgiving, if you hit slightly off center you still get the distance, great club.
Love the sound and feel.. Mimics by pxg irons👊🏻 but you are right, it is softer. Love your input
My new Ping G430 with 35g shaft has added 20+yards compared to G425. Sounds much better also!
Standard paradym Andy love it was fitted as well mate ...9 degree head weight heel stiff shaft I found it long for me well longer then my mavrik driver ..cracking drivers that paradym range
Looking at the shot patterns, have to say if you take out the one bad one in both, there would be just as tight grouping in both. I'm playing the Paradym TD but as a super senior I've been experimenting with light shafts and I think the BB23 is better designed for that (swingweight with 45 gm shaft), the TD is above D8 I think, only other option might be CB weight in grip I haven't hit BB23 yet but definitely will shortly.
I still game the B21, nothing has beat it yet....
Andy you mentioned the Bertha as being built shorter but I’m looking at the specs and per Callaway both drivers tested show a std build of 45.75”
Love your tests
Currently playing the Cobra Rad Speed D,3,5,and 7 woods. Looking to possibly change to the Paradym/X ? Hopefully prices will go down beginning of new year ?🤞
I’m still using my M5 because I’m striping and not gaining much distance with new models.
Would be cool to see the bb21 vs 23. Wonder if there’s any real difference.
I tested my BB21 against the BB23 at a fitting day. I’m 27 handicap and I found the BB23 easier to hit straight and gained about 10 to 15 yards. I ended up buying it.
Just went back and had a look at the video review for the Mavrik standard driver and your carry was 247
Seems quite a big drop off looking at the number for these 2 drivers
Very curious how these 2 Perform
Still waiting for someone to review/compare the Great Big Bertha. Why has no one reviewed thst one yet?
Probably because it’s £900
@jday4217 yet he did review the XXIO driver, and others have tested gold drivers. It's supposed to be a great set of clubs.
Not sure the shaft did AVG. any favours. A more appropriate shaft might have brought the spin rate down.
Never been the biggest fan of anti slice drivers - most of the holes that i use a driver for on my local course are set up for a fade
Right, but most players probably looking for anti-slice drivers probably aren't just faders of the ball. They more than likely have pretty massive slices that they deal with!
@@bluetoughguy Pretty massive slices sums up what I played for years (decades). An anti slice driver might calm it down a little bit but probably only for a short while until the swing fault(s) override the "anti-slice". More cost effective is to get lessons to fix the swing fault(s).
@justinstephenson9360 I don't disagree at all. I had a massive hook problem for well over a decade and got lessons last year which fixed this. My point was more that there's a audience that this is meant for and it's players that slice and are not necessarily wanting to go get lessons.
Before the test I thought the BB would be straighter and tighter in dispersion. Fooled again,
Compare the maverick ls triple diamond to any driver for distance...it's the absolute longest..prove me wrong..
Totally different design meant for different type of player. LS drivers are typically longer when struck well and with enough launch angle. They are also usually fade/biased and less forgiving.
I do not like the Paradym. I do not like the split colours on the crown. Reminds me of the older TaylorMade; I find it distracting.
Horrible looking drivers, I’ll stick with my rogue st max
