That's one sweet-looking bass. Love the matte finishes & unfilled grain coupled with the clear acrylic pickguard & nice bindings. Very interesting choices.
Dave , I just looked at one of your old videos when you said "my back's killing me". If that happens after sitting too long you might need a kneeling chair. That cured my back and leg pain.
Recently picked up a '78 Ibanez CN200...i love this weird Japanese stuff! (The "Flying Finger" humbuckers are easily my favorite pickups, out side of single coils of course, which I've always preferred over all) Bacchus, Moon, Atelier Z, Hondo, Edwards, Burny, etc.... love that stuff, can't get enough of it! Lawsuit guitars outta Japan are an excellent bang for buck (and some blow the stuff they're imitating out of the water as far as I'm concerned!) Played a Burny Les Paul Custom copy a little while ago, Alpine White, and man...felt just like a 70's Les Paul...
5:20 I've seen in a previous video that you want first fret action at least below 0.022. I've got a pretty low action on my beater SG (0.015-0.010) but it feels almost too low while it plays great but there is less "feedback" from the unwound strings. My guess is that I get too much skin contact with the fretboard cause the crowns are on the wide and flat side. It's night and day on my Fly just with a bit more crown. Does crown height influence your first fret action besides the playing style of the owner? Heat shrink is a great idea!
I agree its a pretty cool bass what w/the wood grain, clear pickguard w/truss rod access (all the things you mentioned) AND its been protected or not played much as there isnt spooge all over the bridge. That bass was deffo not gooched 😀😉
Hey Dave, I recently bought a new Gibson SG, and discovered their neck relief specs call for .008, compared to the old .012. Do you think that PLECed necks is the reason?
I'm not trying to pry into your business. Just curious if setups and repairs are your primary 'job' and if you advertise locally or just do it for friends and acquaitances.
Sweet freaking bass! Thanks for the tour!
Cheers Dave with the small jobs, for a guy at home, you've saved me bucks,by tuning into your vidoes,,,,,keep them coming please!

Gorgeous bass.
This instrument costs like an American "J-bass" but the neck feels mush better and it's body looks amazing!
You have the best introductions.
Keep up the great work.

I think it has that quality non specific genre look, that the legitimate Japanese models do so well. I like it.
Generic .
Looked like a pretty painless setup, cheers Dave!!
Seeing these basses going for around $1599 Canadian. Great looking bass.

Bacchus the Roman god of wine. Major Mardi Gras Krewe in New Orleans Louisiana named after him.
Nice bass
Notice most e strings are not in line
Nice to see some good Japanese basses like Bacchus come through on your channel, Dave.
Fender and Gibson get all the attention....
Fine looking bass Davey....just watched a Bass Buddha demo of a Sakura DX5 with a lovely tone....highly desirable....
Looks nice but I'd prefer no pick guard to a clear one myself...
Ok..what's the intro music?
Mike Gervasi I tried to Shazam it but got no result.
