Love how you tell all the history of were you go it's great ❤❤❤ to you from Julie
thank you julie 🫶❤️🐕
You asked about the weather we're we live !😁, we live in Benalmadena, Spain and it's sunny and warm 😂😂😂👍
😁
We had an outside toilet in Gorton In Manchester. We had to put a candle or tea light in it to stop the cistern from freezing in the winter nights. Great vlog you guys. X
can you imagine people having candles now for light actually if the power cuts they predict happen it may go back to those days. thanks for your lovely comment carol xx
I think that chute would be a coal chute. You'll probably find a door further up where the coal man would drop the bags of coal in. We lived in mining area and coal house was always next door to the outside "netty"!
thanks for your comment it seems to be the top answer
We always used to take my mum to Clitheroe Castle or Skipton Market.. 😊
it is a lovely little market think most had seen the weather as decided against going out that day lol
Yes and square bits of newspaper + spiders 😅😅😅
We had an outside toilet in our house on Rochdale Old Road in Bury in the 60's and Jenny's mum had outside toilets in Welwyn Garden and Jenny's grandad had outside toilets in St Albans in the 60's so I don't think it was exclusive to the North.
that’s great to know bob though it was just the hard core northern folk that had to dodge the weather to go to the toilet 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes our family had an outside toilet, we call it a funny in Australia. My big sister used to pay me 20 cents to stand outside the door in the cold while she used it.
Nice one guys top one 💟☮️💯
A Norman Castle built in 1914! I think it was built much earlier than that😎
yes charles read linda’s comment it was that cold i think it effect my sense of history that day lol ❤️❤️
We had outside loo freezing 😂🥶
very
fantastic video
thanks mandy xx
We live on the Isle of Wight and still have a outside toilet 🚽 which we use everyday!
wow that’s amazing 🥰🥰🥰🥰
We had an outdoor toilet in Beighton, I used it for storage as no one used it. but we also had a full bathroom indoors. Xx
hey any storage is good storage
@@NorthernersonTour I agree xx
Hi Mark and Lisa 👋 just us 2saying hi 🤔 thanks again for this video update 🤔 shame yous miss the Christmas market but at least you had a great time 🎄 yes I had outside toilet growing up in the Northeast of England in the sixty 👋 den and sue 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
we are getting lots of comments with people saying they also had a out side toilet great to hear from you both xxx
We had an outside toilet in newtownards Northern Ireland right up into the seventies also ice on the inside of the windows ll
yes i remember the ice and spiders 😱😱😱😱
it is a coal bunker ,the door at front is missing to keep the coal in.
It's supposed to be summer here in Australia, but it was 15 degrees and raining and has been like that for most of December, we are all wearing jumpers, coats and boots, it also snowed somewhere in Victoria, have a good Christmas, love your content.
oh no rose yes your supposed to be having summer hope it changes for you soon thanks for your lovely comments ❤❤❤❤
Did York Christmas Market this year it's fantastic just the correct size..
Btw just seen your van parked not far from my home 😄😄 nice walk along the front btw.
hi there we are in lytham quite a bit we love the town fantastic in summer your lucky to live there thanks for watching please remember to subscribe 👍🏻👍🏻
Some great parking spaces along Fairhaven and some towards st annes 👍
We had outside loos in London in the 60s, great Christmas carpark 😂🤣☃️⛄, we'd call it an alley or cut through.
ohhh a cut through that’s a new one 😅
I do remember my aunt's place in Hexthorpe, Doncaster having an outside loo, late 60's early 70's & an Anderson shelter at the bottom of the garden.
Used to love going up north & still do.
oh wow i would love to see a real anderson shelter how amazing 🥰
Hexthorpe is sadly a bit of a no go area in Doncaster now :( Lots of immigrants infighting and people that have lived there for years are trying to get out as its gone downhill a lot, used to take my kids to the park there as it was one of the nicest parks with birds in cages and a great play park. real shame
@@helenreasbeck1348 Yes i remember the dell, wonderful place when you're a kid 😃
Hi Lisa an Mark,I am 72 yrs young Scouser, i have 1992 Citroen C25 Motorhome up until i was 14 i lived in a 2 up two down house mum dad and 5 kids no bath tin bath in front of coal fire memories, outside toilet not like the one you just saw filthy mum kept it clean. Was i glad to move to house with inside bathroom but that's the way it was for us back then.
hiya John, thanks for your lovely comment. I can remember my mum used to keep our toilet spotless as well and there was something about the front doorstep that they all wanted to keep them clean as well. They took a lot of pride in their houses back in them days, didn’t have much, but looked after what they had. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a lovely New Year. Take care❤❤
Outside toilet, newspaper as toilet paper, to bath in front of the fire,. And that's down South, Canterbury Kent.
now then new territory here a bath in front of the fire 😮😮😮😮😮
Wife says I find it hard to fine the Clithrough lol. Very gold week no snow though. Love noodles could eat them every day 😊
😮😮😮😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Eh up, it’s bleak up north, even the Christmas market is a bit sad. Come down to the Midlands where the temperature soars to 1 degree! Great yes we had outside toilets we lived outside Maidstone in Kent and it was my job to empty the potties every morning. Great filming guys!
it beautiful up’th north lol but yes the crimbo markets where a. let down owww potty duty not good but good lad 🥰👍🏻👍🏻
Was in Clitheroe over Jubilee weekend and had a lovely time. Probably best to go in better weather ❤️ have a great Christmas
glad you liked clitheroe it really is a nice place xxx happy christmas to you too xxx
We are on a cs in Abington Scotland been frozen up for 5 days currently it’s -8 loving it toasty in the van tho. We had an outside loo in London when I was a kid freezing lol🙏👍
we are heading you scotland for the new year are you staying long
@@NorthernersonTour we are here till jan 3rd then west coast👍🚌
I remember the outside toilet that we used to have (you certainly didn't linger in freezing temperatures) and I also remember that a relative's outside toilet was a drop loo....... I used to be frightened of falling down that one 🤣. I was born over the other side of the hill from Clitheroe, but did move to Clitheroe when I got married and I lived there for 12 years. You'd have been ok driving up and over the hill. I've driven over there many a time with inches of snow on the ground. Once you know the road up and over via Sabden there's no problem whatsoever. It's the folks that don't know the road that cause problems in bad weather. It's definitely known as a ginnel here in Lancashire.
hi annie i’ll take your work for it driving over the hill think i would of preferred going down it on my sledge
Amazing 👌🏻👏🙏👍
thank you xx
Well if we are up your way and we get caught short we now know where the loos are!!!! Great vlog guys
hey they are a bargain as well as there Free 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Outside loo - oh yes. Only posh people had a flush. As for southerners, Alf Garnett had an outside loo with a flush. I am in Blackburn so we had the same weather. When you do a vlog on Pendle witches you have visit witches galore in Newchurch and if you are lucky they may speak if you are good lol. The person that built them had some fun with them, I was walking past and one of them raised her hand and spoke - you can imagine my reaction
i can see pendle hill from our upstairs window and used to visit witches valour with my parents and the witches outside used to talk to you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great Vid guys. I have a faded memory of an outside toilet when I was younger but I think I missed out using them. My mum and Dad used to always talk about we dont know how lucky we are having a toilet inside haha. Take care both and look forward to the next one
i can remember the one my mum and dad had and the spiders that stayed in there too 😱😱😱
There used to be a fantastic sausage shop in Clitheroe with lots of different flavours.
ohhhh we saw that mark went in but i got tempted by a charity shop will have to have a look next time we go ❤❤
We live in Accrington , we walked up Pendle Hill on Friday it was beautiful . I worked in Nelson love hearing your accents Shame the weather changed for you x
hi victoria thank you for your lovely comment it’s amazing up pendle hill isn’t it xxxx
Lisa there is a sign in Whalley Road in Great Harwood saying there is a Christmas market in Whalley Sat 17th and Sun 18th Dec . Says it’s in the pub car park x
They're called "Closes" in Scotland predominantly in Edinburgh and Glasgow, We got a hard freeze last night -7 with highs of -3, no snow yet
get ya woolies on as it’s coming lol
Were are you from Lisa and mark
lancashire
My dad had a toilet outside and no electricity till he was 11 and we call an alley way a jitty where I’m from xx
No snow here in Shropshire 😢
Market wasn’t as good as that one in Bury!
You two are great, we’ve had a real crap week and you made us laugh 😂😂

Hiya guys,We couldn’t get our car off our driveway,it was so icy.Managed to get it off this morning though TF.A bit of ice and snow always brings uk to a standstill.Great video 👍

@@NorthernersonTour Off to Bristol then working our way up to Cumbria
Definitely a ginnel. Born in Castleton, Rochdale. 🙂
fellow northerner welcome to our channel and thanks for you comment don’t forget to subscribe 🥰🥰🥰
Solo stoves are brilliant. The shute is probably for coal delivery. It's a snicket or alley here
yayh another solostove lover we think there amazing yes coal shoot is coming out top answer at the min i call them ally’s ❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant vlog as usual ❤ love the history of the places you visited, shame there wasn’t a Christmas market for Mark Lisa…ended on a good note those solo stoves are brilliant ❤❄️🥳🎄🥂
yes he still hasn’t had his xmas market lol but what better way to finish your day then a lovely warm fire pit with Solostove 🥰thanks for watching hope your both well xxx
Keep the snow
no you can have it 😂😂😂😂
We had more snow than you 🤪 and we're in Sussex.
Where I'm from Oxted, Surrey some houses built late 40's- early 50's did have outside loo's of sorts in a covered passageway next to kitchen.
lol a loo next to the kitchen omg if mark lived there the smells coming from the kitchen might not be so nice 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@NorthernersonTour Well our house had the loo next to the kitchen downstairs as well but fully inside.🙄💩
Think you got the date wrong, no disrespect meant but here is the date according to Google
Built in 1186 by Robert de Lacy, the Norman keep of the castle is reputed to be the second smallest in England
hi yvonne yes i stand corrected there was a plague on the wall as you walk in as can be seen on the vlog which i have read as it was built on that date thinking on why would a castle be built in 1914😂 thanks for that ❤
what happened to woody as in your latest vlog's you have a chihauhau dog and no sign of woody
go back to vlog called bad news and then watch big news
We have an outside toilet lol
wow amazing xx
I had a outside toilet at my house and it flushed
our did the system was above your head with a really long chain on the flush 😂😂😂
Happy Birthday Mark hope ya having a big fat Chinese 😂❤
ohh you know it faye he is a happy happy chappy xxxx
@@NorthernersonTour makes me laugh lisa , he loves it 😂just like me thinking of me belly’s 🤣❤️
Coal shoot
We had out side toilet and the SH-t men used to empty them omg rolled up newspaper for a light to run down the bottom of the yard squares of newspaper on a string POSH 😆😆😆😆
hiya pat yes we had the outside toilet as well with newspaper on a string can you imagine the amount of print that would of come off that paper 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
you guys heard of Jimmy Clitheroe
no why 👍🏻
I think it's an ash shoot it will have had an ash bin under it.
arghhhhh sound bit more viable 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
its a rubbish chute for house hold waste straight into bin..... coal chute hahaaaa
sound like a more realistic idea thanks for that
Chute would be for coal deliveries into the “bunker”
so where would the delivery come from as the shoot was coming from the building not on a outside wall bob ????
Yep coal shute
Typo, we call it a funny in Australia.
Dunny
I think it's for delivering coal
yup everyone agrees with ya 👍🏻👍🏻😊
its a coal shute
where did the coal come from though shirley the shoot comes out of the inner wall ????😱
A ginnal
Ginnal
i’m a alley person 😳that don’t sound right lol 😅😅
Yep coal chute
its a coal shoot
yes it is
What a shame there wasn't much Christmas stalls there like Manchester but I think everything is over priced, you keep wrapped up stay safe
yes think we looked as wrong date ellen 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it’s a shoot for rubbish between the two houses 🤷♀️
i want a shoot the goes to the bin save going out in to the cold 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too 😂
Nope
coal shoot
🤔🤔🤔🤔not sure
Really surprised you guys didn’t take the motorhome over Pendle Hill 🚐🗻☃️ lol
Went out yesterday and ended up reversing back up a hill in Yorkshire Dales after seeing the cars which had gone off road - slight change of plan 😀🌨️
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
your a braver man then me david or dafter 🤣🤣🤣 hope you all got home in one piece 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
