To people who say oh it's just Anime or oh it's just a movie well anime and movies in general are an art designed to mirror reality and it can even mirror fantasy but when it's mirroring reality it's just putting real life through a filter and a telling a realistic story something that could happen and probably has happened in the real world into something that you can watch and experience without having to actually witness the horrific events and the pain of it. So people like that are just dumb
Is not really the most emotional anime but is The most Influential and most Relatable Anime in the real world. It tackles Bullying, Emotional trauma, Depression and suicide. that is common in Millennial and Gen Z.

SPOILERS THIS IS JUST AN EXPLANATION FOR THE RUclipsR Basically, she’s deaf and he’s an immature kid that doesn’t realize the pain of disabilities, so he bullies her, while she keeps trying to become friends with him. Eventually, as he keeps throwing away her hearing aids, her mom makes her switch schools because she suspects a bullying case going on (the girl never snitched on him), and because of that, his friends betray him and tell the teacher what he did. This makes his previously popular status go down and he becomes practically a nobody to everyone there. As he starts spending time alone, he realizes the impact of everything he did, and vows to get redemption. He plans to commit suicide, so he wants to get her forgiveness before that. He gets close to her, gets ready to suicide, but is caught and stopped by his mom. Now that he doesn’t have a plan, he just keeps getting closer to her, until she tries to confess her love to him, but he doesn’t understand what she says. She goes home alone and tries to commit suicide, and he ends up going to her home and saving her, falling in the process and getting hospitalized. Edit: Yeah it’s a movie Edit 2: The hand holding thing is sign language for ‘friends’

I won't say the real reason because SPOILERS and it also should be mentioned that he wasn't the only one bullying her, basically the entire class either bullied her or laughed behind at behind her back. The boy there got scapegoated.
