    Check youtube for Nuno Bettencourt "Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee", it's the intro to their song "He man woman haters", from their second CD Pornography, which also includes the song "Get the Funk Out", my personal fave, with what is considered to be one of the best guitar solos ever. The group formed in 1985 in Boston. Gary, the singer is 61 y/o and Nuno, the guitarist is 57 y/o.

    Nuno was a huge fan of Eddie. Studied him and played his rig while Eddie adjusted pedals for tone. Nunos been around for awhile

    • @pittstaffio
      @pittstaffio Год назад +1

      But Nuno did an interview for a guitar magazine and made a comment about some "silly stuff", a mild reference to shredding and not directly at Eddie. When Nuno had that meeting with Eddie and he had his rig in his hands, Eddie looked up at him and said, " And none of that silly (crap , business, or shit)". Apparently Eddie had read the interview and it was funny.

    Nuno is a guitar god. Start with with their first album "Extreme" then their big one "Pornograffiti" (I also love "3 sides" their third album but that's more concept). They are in the mold of Queen, great songs, great melodies and just a very talented band. Amazing live too. Nuno has been my fav guitarist for 20+years now. Mans the GOAT imo.

    Extrem ❤ what can we say about Extreme
    band from the late 80s that combined Funk with Metal
    the 4 members participate in the Voices in the best style of Queen or The Beatles but united with the virtuosity of Nuno Bettancout on the Guitar,
    their albums one better than another
    I think their best album is 3 side to every story, a 3 sided concept album with one side of funk metal, one side of balandas and one side with a 21 minute Progressive Rock song in the best style of YES or Genesis

  • @markgrant1302

    Extreme first hit in the late 80s, had quite a big ballad with a song called more than words which predates mtv unplugged... had a song featured in bill and Ted's excellent adventure... stole the show at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in the 90s.. Gary Cherone ( the Singer) was in Van Halen in the late 90s. Nuno Bettencourt has been a guitar hero since the late late 80s early 90s... and in reference to your velvet revolver comparison... Extreme was a big popular band before Slash left GNR.... with the passing of Eddie Van Halen, Nuno is really the keeper of the flame for guitar in rock music.

    Gary Cherone is the singer. He is 61 and still has a great voice. He fronted Van Halen for a couple of years after Sammy Hagar. Nuno is a guitar god!!! Gary, Nuno, and Pat (bassist) formed Extreme in the mid 80's. Brian May of Queen has said that Nuno's work on Get the Funk Out is something he could never begin to play. Ironic comment because both Gary and Nuno were hugely influenced by Queen. BTW, this song "Rise" is about how the music industry can make you or break you.
