Yes please! How do you go about processing the mesh? Do you recreate the meshes to poly surfaces or rebuild the entire model from scratch using the 3d scan?
Would I be able to do this for a full bumper to accept newer model headlights ? Like scan the “old “ bumper and the new one and mold a hybrid to accept the new headlights but the old mounts are the same ?
Did you take the opportunity to take the sag out from the original that occurs over time? Looks like you might've but you didn't mention it. Mine has sagged and I'm going to have to make a bracket for the centre to hold it straight. Also, JDM 180sx "50/50" front parker/indicator lights don't belong on a Silvia front end
Hey this is so cool! I would like if you could help me doing a mod for my mazda3 hatchback trunk. I modified it but it’s not as smooth as I would like it to be. Can you help me?
But in the end it looked awful? You'd need to use filler, sand it a bunch and perhaps even make a mold and maybe use resin or something to make a super nice finish?
IN some way why not, of course it is totally wrong if you returned and at this world it would not be miracle that people would do that. But this 3D printing is cool, when now day oem car brand´s are not product some parts, so it is cool when someone will printed those/will do
Asa should be alright, There are a bunch of tests on RUclips saying it’s good for outdoor use. But I’m also printing my own grille so I can let you know how mine turns out if they can’t get to you!
I see nothing wrong with returning it. I buy the stairs cutout at home depot trace said stairs onto the wood i want to use for the stairs cut that one and return the pre cut stairs back to home depot
And it's not a very good scanner for sharp edges with car parts. Requires a lot of cleanup. I ended up with an Einscan HX and it's far better and almost half the price.
Imagine the seller seeing this video after getting the returned part back 😂
I am a fan of yours, I was inspired by you and I bought a new 3d scanner to modify my nissan ga16de
If your return smells like Dr Scholls,... you've been SCANNED !!!!
This is great , these discontinued parts are stuff you come across and wish you could buy. Wish i had the equipment to do this myself
Reverse engineering tutorials would be amazing!

Will cover in a future video :)
@@illumaesthetic Looking forward to it!! Love your work!

Great work! What is the type of filament?
Nothing wrong with reselling the part as long as your not returning it 😂. Some people always want oem stuff
But what if you parts make form this out of business like Pontiac
Is this part ready to install? Can u use it pretty much right out of the printer?
What software do you use for modeling 3d? After scan .
i need this for my bike. cant buy the fairings anywhere
How much for the clips that hold the cables on the sunroof on that 1989 honda civic hatchback si printed part?

They're S13 parts, they fit. This whole frontend is a swap anyway, the car's a USDM 240sx, not a Silvia, being pure was out the door a while ago.
Nice!
What kind of 3D software did you use?

This is just prototyping. Having a correctly fitting part is a lot harder than making it look nice.
Finish doesn't matter at this point. He now has mount locations and dimensions, so can refine the finish & it also allows for custom designs 🤙
Do you have the finished file by any chance? Asking for a friend😂
wow this is a life hack
I need some bumper grilles 3d printed how would that work
3d scan them model them in software and print thousands of videos online
Is there anyway y'all could do this to a Subaru svx and if so how much
Shoot us an email!

What 3d scanner is that?
Artec Eva
Is the printed with ASA?
Video is PLA, production is ASA
Stl please xxx
as long it not involve Adobe it legal I think....you have debt almost 50 thousand dollars still dare call people poor
Even printed in ASA wouldn't it melt and bend in hot sun?

If that’s an issue no problem reverse casting the part with aluminum and boom got a metal part.
No, it's not illegal and shouldn't be.

$20k for the 3D Scanner
