Hi Rob, I'm enjoying the sling build, the kit looks fantastic and your attention to detail is great. I'm wondering why all the raw aluminum isn't corrosion protected? I have worked on 3 venture questair's 35 yrs ago and we soaked all the pieces in a Alodine solution till they were a consistent color before installing them. What are your thoughts Thanks for sharing the build, hopefully soon I will be able to build my own
I appreciate the question. I have addressed this topic in a previous video called "Aircraft Aluminum and Corrosion". ruclips.net/video/hcgxCII6JpA/видео.htmlsi=XxVXl2m7OT8FaCGe
Alodine is an incredibly toxic chemical process. The SDS states the specific chemicals required to remove and neutralize it, if ever splashed on your skin. If those specific items are not present, a trip to the ER is in order. For simply getting it on you.
Actually I think it came from the ratchet strap I used to snug the tip into the wing. I installed the on the other wing and paid attention to not let that happen. Lesson learned.

Thanks for sharing. Build Speed is really fast. Thumbs up. Waiting for the next step. All the best.
Thanks a lot!
Glad you fixed the wingtip/aileron before painting. I know that would’ve bugged you no end down the road. Project is looking great!
You are right. I cannot stand imperfections! Thanks for watching!
Nice video again. Please check your flaps (and maybe ailerons as well); the top skin goes above the bottom skin.
Thanks for the tip! I noticed that too. However I did not care for the airflow restriction/disturbance caused by the top skin. Thanks for watching!
@@TheBaldPilot Not for the airflow, more for water entering the flaps and ailerons.
@@pjlatten Sealed with Sika Flex and Super Fill. Thanks!
Top work!!
Thank you 🙌
Have you considered AC for them long summer flight's
I've considered it. But I don't think it is worth the weight penalty. In flight it is not needed. So would only be needed during ground ops.
That’s weird on the wing tip alignment issue. I didn’t have that problem. I wonder if you got a bad batch from sling?

Heat gun gently
Too late! LOL. I cut it out and laid down new FB and epoxy. Thabks for watching!
