  • How to tell the difference between fake and genuine Cold Steel Knives when looking at pictures online. If you own a Cold Steel Recon 1, AD-10 or Voyager XL then check them in detail because there are a lot of fakes being sold by seemingly legit sellers.
Don't trust eBay or Amazon feedback alone because most people get duped by the fakes and leave positive feedback.
This is a picture of what the fake Triad Lock looks like... it is a mess: ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H92f16ed76...

    s55day (All fakes)
    ohyasales (mixes real and fake)

    kedziekoins
    All China sellers
Counterfeit knives are a growing problem that not only undermines the integrity of genuine products but also have a significant impact on the economy. These fake knives, often made in China, are nearly identical to their US-made counterparts and are sold at a fraction of the cost. However, these counterfeit knives are often made with inferior materials and construction, which can lead to dangerous situations and can put the lives of the users at risk.
The production and sale of counterfeit knives not only harms the legitimate knife manufacturers and sellers but also harms the economy. It also creates an uneven playing field for legitimate businesses and can lead to lost sales and revenue for them.
Consumers should be aware of the risks associated with purchasing counterfeit knives and take the necessary steps to ensure they are purchasing genuine products. This includes buying from reputable sellers, checking for signs of authenticity, such as holograms or serial numbers, and being wary of products that are priced significantly lower than the market price.
As a society, we must take the issue of counterfeiting seriously. It's not just a matter of losing money, but also a matter of safety, and it's essential to support the legitimate businesses and companies, who invest in research, development and quality assurance.

I bought a fake cold steel kobun off temu. I was throwing it at a tree, and the cheap plastic that held the blade in broke after four throws. The blade on the other hand was actually amazingly durable. I was hitting the blade with an aluminum bat, and it didn't chip at all but put deep gashes in the bat. The handle was trash, but i made a new hamdle for the blade, and it became a nice heavy use knife.

Thanks for the very helpful info . I've been looking to buy a CS knife. Where I am it's next to impossible to know what is being sold . Once I saw the "real" knives (for me) it is much clearer to see a fake vs. a real CS knife . I'm at the point of buying from a reputable seller in the US and paying the import tax here, to get the real thing .

@@puddintame6310I've regularly gotten a lot of fake products from Amazon. Optics, red dots, flashlights, shoes, literally almost anything name brand has all been fake. I quit buying name brand products from Amazon for this reason. Nothing like spending $1,000 on an optic to get an obviously fake product. Maybe I got bad luck but one time I bought and returned 3 different Surefire lights because every single one they sent me were fake, all confirmed by Surefire themselves. I had an Eotech, Trijicon and Sig Sauer optics all come back fake. The Eotech was so bad it didn't come in the normal packaging and it was obviously an LED, not a holographic optic. I was told it was returned but seriously, why are they re-selling returned products as new anyways? Especially $700 holographic weapon sights.

The best way to make sure you aren’t getting a fake is to buy from a reputable dealer. If you’re buying one new off eBay at a price that’s “too good to be true”, it’s a fake. Just buy from a good retailer and accept the price. You’ll be getting a real one. That way you’re not spending money on a fake, then finding out you got a fake, you have to spend money on a real one. @@FriedPi-mc5yt One of my concerns is that it is hard to justify getting into knife collecting if the value of them plummets because the only safe way to buy them is when they are new. If fakes can be identified properly then it helps the secondary market and people are less likely lose their investment... Hence the reason for this video.

@@MikesCarInfo I would rather avoid the problem of fakes altogether and just buy new. I don’t have to worry about buying a second hand knife that someone abused or getting a fake. If someone is building a knife collection of knives that are still in production, it doesn’t make much sense to buy used knives if you’re worried about the price falling. Since the minute you use them, the price plummets. If it’s to collect and hope for a value increase. Then you buy new, never use it and keep it in the factory box. If you’re looking for an older beater knife to use, then I guess off market is your only choice. But I wouldn’t consider them collectibles. Collector knives are a whole different area of discussion because you’ll never get a “deal” on many truly collectible knives. Personally I would find an online retailer that deals in used knives rather than buying from some rando on eBay.

You know, I wonder if they'd fake
    lesser expensive models, like LUZON.
Probably not, for they'd get little profit.
Would be kind of a decent robbery 😂
There's also fake on medical drugs
here in Argentina. Top brands get faked,

Which they can't, they mess up. It's not as good. And it lacks moral to do so.
Being inspired is good. Make your own design, and take and learn from others.
    But not a 100% copy.

Pretty weak comparison. You should have disassembled them both. The replica looks really bad inside, many of them have the ''triad'' lock made wrong. You are actually misdealing people by giving an impression that the replica is not that bad, while it is bad and even dangerous.

You didn't watch the video. If you did you would have heard me say what the video was about and that the fakes will most likely break and hurt you.
Why don't you fill your EMPTY RUclips channel with disassembly videos and show us how it is done? Lazy? Weak? Can't get out of bed?

@@MikesMedia Well you say you show the difference between real and fake knives. But the real difference is in the inside. I have seen some disassemblies of the fakes and it is shocking. Maybe don't get all offended I am actually giving you a good video idea as you have all those fakes already. And that video would really show the real reason people shouldn't buy the fake knives not just some arbitrary phrase like ''they are bad quality''.
