Another much needed escape from reality. That Brocante is incredible. The prices!!!!
14:28 Cat needs a snip!
With what I paid years ago for my large Ralph Lauren armoire I could have flown to France, bought and shipped one from your brocante back to the US and stayed at your chateau for a week. I can’t believe that armoire was $70eu. Love watching your shopping trips. They save me money. I’m sure Selmar will fix it up perfectly.
I understand! A few years ago I found and purchased an expensive US brand Henredon wing chair from Australia's largest department store. After buying American decorating magazines for years, I knew the brand well... when it was delivered I discovered it was made in Indonesia... and the delivery man thought it was Ralph Lauren, ha ha, but he told me they were all made in the same factory!! 😬
14:28 Cat needs a snip!
Alex Alex YES!!!!
I've been thinking the same thing!
I really get lost in these videos. That was so much fun! I would recommend though, that the little cat get neutered. As he grows up just a bit more he'll start spraying everything & he'll wander off looking for mates & it's a rough world out there for wandering kitties! He's such a sweetheart :)
Hello from Washington State! Celebrating the Smoke has cleared and fire is out in our community!
Chris Marcotte living North of you in B.C so glad to hear skies are clearing, here as well 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yay, wonderful news!!🌿🌻🌿🥳🌿🌻🌿
Chris Marcotte Hello! I used to live in Tacoma, then Olympia. I come back yearly. I’m wearing a Seahawks mask today. 😆
So good to hear this. 💜
Yes, back to gorgeous blue sky & few puffy clouds here on Whidbey Island, WA state. 😊
Those chargers under my Italian pottery would look great. I’m so jealous.
My family thinks my dish obsession is a psychological issue.
Nice not to be alone.
Oh, THEY are crazy. That's nonsense. 🥴
It’s amazing since I posted my comment how many of you agreed about the yellow chargers. 😊
💛 Loved that stack of sassy sunny yellow chargers, esp. understanding Stephanie's obsession for dishes, dining, and that glorious golden color.
🔔Ding, ding, ding.
I confess. I too am a card-carrying maximalista. 😔Often bullied & shamed by a society of minimalists. 🌎It is just as sustainable & earth-friendly♻️ to use gorgeous things that are already in existence. Thus saving perfectly fine things from some landfill🗑. 🎉Yay!🎉
Raised by parents that had a fabulous 👀eye, instinct for 🌹beauty & 🗝design , and 🛠talent for upcycling. 👫They lovingly taught me the importance of being surrounded by lovely & useful objects⚱.
💗I am also dangerously sentimental. Highly prize items that carry a positive history &/or memories of loved ones.
🏮Inherited a lot of heirlooms from parents, grandparents, & friends alike. 🖼All whose style varied somewhat🏺, but suit my eclectic tastes. 😍Miss them greatly, but at least I can enjoy the things they once treasured while thinking of them. Found good homes🏠 for pieces that I couldn't keep too.
🍽 Been accused of being a major dish hoarder of the first order. 🤔Would be perfectly content using a different dish set every 📅day for each 🍲meal🥗 & coffee☕/snack🍉 breaks.
👩⚖Nor should it matter if some of my collection is strictly used as 🎨art display. Or, reserved for use on 🎃holidays🎄or other special🎈occasions🎏. That is my perogative. It does not harm anyone🤗.
⛲ Unfortunately, I don't live in a massive 15th century French estate with room for a grand butler's pantry. Nor do I routinely feed hungry hoards or entertain many guests. I envy her romantic way of living in the best way possible. Appreciate her attention to detail, friendly set-up, celebratory spirit, and her comfortable ease of🍸hospitality.
🌐That's just not my world. Have a 🏰chateau spirit on a cottage🏡budget coupled with a reclusive temperament. 🥂Doing grand on a petite scale🍾. As an introvert three ppl is a 🎊party🎊 for me, and I still prefer one-on-one interaction over that.
💖Love setting up buffets, centerpieces, tablescapes for dinners & parties. 💖Also love the thrill of feeding & taking care of others. 👩🍳Meanwhile volunteer my services to help my more extroverted pals with their events.
📺Thankful, this amazing channel allows me to vicariously live through ⚜LaLande. Share a part of their positive & exciting traditions as well as enjoy their rich & vibrant lifestyle.
Meanwhile, ⚡Stephanie⚡ has reminded me of the importance of elevating the everyday to ☄elegant☄ proportions. She wonderfully shows us the importance of using pretty dishware -- even when it is simply done to perk up one's own spirits. ☔We shouldn't stow away all fine things for a💧rainy day that never comes.
Although as a result of space limitations, I must carefully put a limit on my collections. (🚫Plastic ✔Glass ✔Porcelain ✔Ceramic ✔Enamel ✔Copper )
Thankfully, I maintain enough clever storage to seasonally 🔃rotate pieces without being mired in chaotic clutter year round. (😯Or, worry obsessively over it all remaining out and possibly face breakage in another big earthquake💔.)
💪Simply have to remain disciplined about acquiring new pieces. Usually something new in, typically means something old must be sacrificed. 😉Learned to be content watching others grow their collections.
Unlike Stephanie, I favor 🍚dishes that are attractive as well as D/W safe. 👐Hand-washing fine things is very labor intensive, so I restrict those indulgences. ☮💛🌼
Yes!! Was so disappointed when Stephanie passed on the beautiful antique sofa, so glad she came back for it, what a steal! love the wardrobe find. The yellow chargers would be beautiful with the Spode!
Stephanie, cats tend to instinctually know when women are single and over 35 😅💓😹 I have finally embraced "The crazy cat lady" title! Thank you for sharing!
I had to laugh! They know when you are allergic too! I started taking a new allergy pill and I am no longer itching and scratching! I ran out and got a cat!
@@ednawarren1421 😂 It seems cats are quite intuitive! I'm happy you were able to get one! 😻
Go back for the beautiful green high back chairs across from where the sofa was sitting!! Beautiful pieces.
I was thinking that myself.
So was I ! They would he beautiful in the chateau.
I love those & have been looking for one myself...but closer to home (MD, USA) lol.😊
Exellent pricing there. 110€ for sofa & wardrbe. How does it get any better than that. I love those napkins Marie found! Goodness 💜
Get the yellow plates!
I can't believe the prices in your charity shops. That wardrobe would probably be at least $1,000 in US.
And also here in Canada!
@@Padraigan13 You wouldn't even be able to buy one of the mirrors for $70 here in Canada.. heehee..
Do you not have second-hand shops like Emmaus in the US?
Oh wow I love how the bar cart came together and you had the perfect lamp to go inside! You truly have a creative eye Stephanie 🌟
I simply adore these thrifting adventure videos! Keep them going! They are so fun!
The yellow underplates would of been pretty with spode blue
I thought so too, a classic combo, but we dare not encourage her. They'll need another building to house their growing collection. And just think how sturdy shelves have to be to hold the weight of plates and all the other accessories. Isn't their a room right off the kitchen where the hedgehogs were hiding that is close enough for overstock? Was there stuff in there already?
I bet she buys them if they're still there on the next trip
Deb Schmitt I think she should.
Make another trip for those yellow plates..restraint was excellent..but in this case NO.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kinda got distracted watching the video while reading all the comments so i always make sure to re-watch the vlog after the premiere ends😂😂😂..cant really get enough with la Lande!
Excellent haul Stephanie. I love your taste and ability to restrain yourself. You are such a worthy steward of the chateau.
I so enjoy watching you shop at the 2nd hand shop, so many treasures, I thought you were very restrained Stephanie
The Deco tray was a good find
Too restrained if you ask me! 🇦🇺
Yay! You got the sofa!!! So happy it was still there. What a beautiful bargain!!
Ok you get an A+ today , always love shopping and love it when you reduce something👍
Anyone who watches these videos knows that the bar cabinet is WAY too small for Lalande >grin
They probably need the wardrobe she bought for michaels apartment with shelving 🤣😂
yep its full already
Or perhaps one in every room ! 🤣👍🏼
😁
I love that green sofa -- I saw it the last time at the brocante and I took a screen shot of it. I hope the reupholstering is a long way into the future.
Yes i LOVE that sofa. I would not have waited a second to buy it.
“I didn’t know! I thought she was sweet enough!” ❤️❤️
I would put some plexiglass on those shelves in the drinks cabinet to protect the material. The whole thing is so beautiful and classy😍
I'm stuck in lock down in Melbourne, Australia. The biggest thing I'm missing (apart from friends and family) is heading out for a day of Op shopping. Absolutely love when you go charity shopping. Thank you for giving me my little Op shop hit!
I used to live in Bentleigh and I had 5 op shops within 10 minutes walk, I was in heaven.
Hi Diana...you might enjoy the RUclips show called The Recycled Life!😊
@@annec9859 i love tassie. Lived in launceston in the mid eighties.
punkin01ful I just checked your suggestion out and it’s one of the shows I’ve already watched to get me through my op shop drought 😂 keep the Charity shop viewing suggestions coming 👌
@Dianna Haines, I'm in Melbourne too. I would so love to visit an op shop!
I love the thrift finds, especially the couch, how the hydrangeas compliment Marie’s blouse, the diy liquor nook, the lovely warm glow of the evening, and I WISH I could try that ginger peach tea! It sounds so autumnal and lovely. This was another incredible episode. Thank you everyone! ~ Maxximo Morabito
I’m thrilled that you are using the farmers tote bag I made for you.
I can’t believe the green sofa was still there!!! Always tough it was a gem, thanks good Stephanie got it
I love the love that Stephanie and Marie have for each other. It’s so clear to see 🧡⭐️🧡⭐️
"I think it's a little too much for me first thing in the morning.". That explains why mummy is so willing to give it back to Stephanie. Had she enjoyed it,, Stephanie would never has seen it again. Hahaha
I used to have arrangements delivered for the house every week.... Then I developed allergies. It saddens me that I am unable to enjoy fresh floral weekly. Occasionally I order allergy friendly arrangements when guests are expected. We all could use the joy fresh flowers provide. If your feeling a little low right now, order yourself a nice spring bouquet to brighten your home. The aroma does wonders for your mood. To make them last ensure the water is changed every three to four days. Clip at least an inch off the stems when you change the water. Flowers with hard stems (woody), roses, hydrangeas, and the like, are cut and smash to allow the stem to drink as much as possible. Most florist will not bother smashing the woody stems. So be sure to do so as soon as the arrangement arrives. Lastly make sure no leaves are below the water line. Leaves will foul the water and prematurely kill the blooms. Oh and don't forget the plant food. As for two extra food packets when you order. You'll use them for the two water changes.
Cheers from Seattle!
Wow..that's a first its only me watching :) so have thumbs upped!!!
I’m currently on a weekend trip to the lake in the mountains and found very small local thrift shop. It was full of Limoges and Haviland plates. I bought a set of bread plates with a blue peacock as the main subject of the design, as well a very cute Lalique ring dish with frosted bird!! I can’t believe my luck in happening upon these treasures 😺
I wish we could post photos in our comments. I’d love to see your plates!
Claud P thank you. I’ll try and post a pic of them on the facebook page.
BloomSprout Cottage Good thinking! I forget to look at their FB page.
Claud P i posted it as Joel Fairhurst. It’s now. Enjoy😺
BloomSprout Cottage I see different pages for LaLande - which one did you post on?

Marie is looking particularly radiant and serene these days.
Spending our fortieth anniversary watching!
Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary 🍾🎉💐
🙏🏻💗❤️💗🙏🏻
Congratulations. 🎈💕💝
Bravo !! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🤩💝
I'm a bit of a charity shop lover, so to go to the shop you were in would be a dream come true. Very good video Ladies and Gent's. X
Love these vlogs! Cannot wait to see! Love Steph so much, also love Mari and Michael AND all the 'Lalande family'
Mummy is so fun and appreciative....love her 😅
I make pillows for the bed with white linen napkins. And use the longer ones for hand towels. At that price, you can use the thin ones for cheesecloth and wrap forts with them, too. So many uses!
The sofa is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Marie has the right idea for jugs, old liqueur bottles and Decanters. I use to use these for plenty of events and parties. I'm also a fan of over the top large arrangements. With peoney and bread seed poppies that I would burn the cut end to make it last for the day. Set on a side board cabinet or table.
I love the pink Hydrangeas that Marie bought as they remind me of my paternal grandmother. Like Isabelle, she was an avid gardener and used to grow many different, unusual varieties in her large flower garden around the house. She was born in the late 1890s and I vividly remember her, well into her eighties, in a large straw hat out in the garden busily punning or watering them. She also used to have beautiful displays of them as cut flowers all around the house. Being in my sixties now thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories as a child 🙂
I looove the jazz music and the bar cart transformation, that is definitely my vibe!
Oh please do this more often! Loving all your trift trips so much!
You guys know how to make everything special.
24:06 The blue platter has stolen my heart !!! I Love it
From sunny humid Florida, it was nice to see the familiar as well as new faces.
Your wonderful mother has the most engaging smile...
The cocktail cabinet was inspired. How clever! L♡ve it!
I used to live not to far from Wakehurst Place in West Sussex on that jug. It has a Botanical gardens. A lovely part of the English countryside.
I wouldn't want to get in Isabelle's way when she gets in a mood (I imagine she is a real firecracker) but she is just so extra adorable! 😻 I hope Percy can come soon, so she is happy.
I love the monkey candlestick holder!
Another wonderful mixture, narrated beautifully. Love the little bar with a lamp inside.
Hello from Querétaro, México. So happy to be a patreon....😄
Hello from SMA
Me too from South Africa (Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape)
I love watching shopping videos!
Looking forward to a dose of Sunshine from Lalande .
Love the videos from Brocante! The prices are sooo goood! In my country that wardrobe would cost around 300 euros. And its so nice to see Marie in the videos ;)
The green and white tea pot and sugar bowl with trailing leaves is so lovely.. adorable as Mummy puts it. Wish I had a daughter brought me such tea pots...
So happy you bought the beautiful couch
That sofa is glorious!
Wow Stephanie, the cocktail cabinet came out fantastic, I love the idea of using fabric for a shelf liner, I'd have never thought of that. Enjoyed the jazz selection while watching and can't wait to see the cabinet details video.
Great haul , the wardrobe definitely had the edge literally regarding the bevel edged mirrors and the tray at 2€ is an absolute winner . Art Deco style likely made in the late 70's early 80's and looks like high quality . I wouldn't be surprised if it had a makers mark upon it somewhere . Who doesn't love a good rummage around a charity shop or brocante ? :)
Those charity shops in France are huge! Amazing!😃
Ginger peach was my first of many, many years of tea...it is a wonderful, prizewinning tea...I am so glad for you...
I am so glad you got the couch! I remember fawning over it in a previous video (maybe one of Marie's?) and wishing I could take it home myself:) xoxo
Loved the teapot and sugar bowl for Mummy Isobel - very special x
Beautiful repurpose on the liquor cabinet....
Love how all the Ladies were dressed in shades of green, during cocktail hour.
Sundays are such a joy when I get to visit with you all. 🥂
Jajajaja Marie is like my Mother...Do we need this? Its important in your life to buy that? Its a matter to live or die buying that 😂😂😂
Another FUN Shopping trip! Mummy's Teapot and Sugar dish is adorable. Pssst....Go back for those 11 yellow chargers quick. They are fantastic. Chargers are BIG here in the USA. They give such a finished look even on a casual table, and you love yellow. Yellow chargers are very difficult to find and they go great with Spode. Great choice on the wardrobe. Will it fit in the Blue and White peacock suite? It has great lines. What do you think you will find in the bottom drawer when Selmar opens it? Kat is absolutely hilarious and so much fun. Marie your flower delivery is absolutely beautiful and I am so happy to also watch your youtube vlogs. I have a glass jug exactly like the one you chose Marie, and I serve lemonade, sangria, peach iced tea in it. Thank you for sharing an always delightful time Stephanie. Sending much love, Bren
I’ve never been this early! Hi, Stephanie and Chateau de La Lande! Thank you for creating another wonderful video that we can all enjoy. It truly makes my days brighter and happier. I couldn’t be more grateful. I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the evening over there! Lots of love from sunny Florida! ~ Maxximo Morabito
I loved the video about the making of the Cocktail station! Next time you go to the hardware store get some pieces of glass or plexiglass cut to cover the shelves. That way you won't get stains on the fabric from sloppy bottle bottoms. It works like a charm!
Oh Stephanie, since when do you have to “need” it to justify buying it?!! If you like it , Buy it then find a use for it ... that’s my motto 😁 🇦🇺 🦘
I Love, Love, Love when you all go to the charity shop. You went back for that amazing couch. Yeah!!!!! The wardrobe was a wonderful classic style. Thank you for including us in your trip.
Loving the apron, pink shirt ensemble Marie ;)!
Love the new cocktail station, great makeover.🍸🍾🥂🍹🍻
So much going on, I love it! Thrift shopping, new flowers, a fun DIY! Thank you for sharing 💛
I had a good time re-watching this episode. the tray that sparked a Chateau revolution.
The brocante had great deals. Loved the drinks cabinet . Thankyou
What a Lovely day!! I loved your purchases & the flowers were glorious!! 🌹🥰
Oh & your Mommy is absolutely precious! Her teapot & sugar bowl are beautiful!!❣️
Lovely 💗🥰🙏🏼 and fun 🌞🥰 Thank you 🙏🏼💫🌟💫
Oh my goodness you made my day I couldn't figure out why you hadn't bought it last time. I would decorate a around that sofa and you should have bought those two green chairs also. I think a room done in greens and pinks is the most beautiful. Even if you don't have one started yet I am sure there are plenty of rooms to choose from. Just wonderful !!!
Every day is a celebration at Lalande! Sante`!
Good Morning from Melbourne. I'm a long term viewer, i just LOVE your Charity Shop vlogs❤💕
I used to live on Bentleigh and had 5 op shops 10 minutes walk away. I was in heaven.
Jill Scott I’m in Sth Melbourne- we’re still in lockdown here 3 months no op shops open. The ones in France look like fun!!
Oh i loved that so much Look what can happen when folk get together to create something beautiful So lovely to see my little salt and pepper pots i sent you a while ago They look perfect placed there xxxxx
Stephanie, I love the couch just the way it is! ☺ And I love the Emmaus and brocante visits! You're liquor cabinet is the most beautiful I've ever seen!
I love love the brocante shopping! Would like to shop with you and Marie. If only I had a chateau to decorate. I can imagine that I do when I watch you shopping.
Love your shopping trip videos, and the cocktail cabinet looks wonderful. How nice to have friends working together to create something so magical. Love the use of a lamp inside and resting bottles on a piece of mirror!
It was fun to watch you all shop for the lovely antiques ... nice fines ...
So fun!! I love the Brocante shopping.
Oh Stephanie....we are on the same page when it comes to beautiful dishes! I always have to restrain myself from buying more! ;-)
Your brocante is amazing, looking at all those vases was like being at T K Max !
The wardrobe is beautiful.. 70 euros is a great price (that would be CDN $109).. I just love those roses with the orange on the inside and the pink on the outside. So unique.. You made off with a good haul at the charity shop.
Just can’t get enough of these videos. Love all the personalities and the relationships
Oh the furniture, so beautiful and cheap!
It's always such fun going to Emau's! Wonderful finds. The flowers are so beautiful, especially the pink hydrangeas. And the cocktail cabinet is brilliant! Love the orange interior and especially the fabric shelving! The teapot and sugar pot are my favorites; the ivy design is beautiful. 💗
