- I show you what I think deserves the best PCP rifle under £400 from 2024
To workout fps to ft lb. Use the below calculation;
Muzzle velocity x muzzle velocity x pellet or bullet weight divided➗by 450240
'Easier to throw a rock than a feather ' Perfectly summed up 👌🏻 (nice watch, BTW)
It makes sense explained that way doesn't it 👍
Agree 100% the NP02 is probably the best budget rifle ever, think the price went up a tad a few years ago, probably because Kral Knew the sales figures, bought my son in law one for crimbo about 4 yrs ago, it was the ideal first rifle for him... Reximex pretensis has taken the market by storm as well ( I have the orange laminate one in 177 ) a couple of years back, now within the last year, Reximex have chucked a curve ball in with the Lyra-K... Will it superceed the Np02, it go's without saying the budget market as far as PCPs go's is the most fiercely contested.
Reximex very good also. Thanks for commenting. 👍
Great review Luke mate, doesnt matter what gun, theres allways gonna be the key pad warriors ! Know of your background with Range Right, some amazing products at good prices coming out of Turkey, as from China , living under the SMK logo ! We cant all afford fx, daystate ect, so good honest reviews from RFD,s is great !
Thanks for the support ⭐️
really agree with you on this, these rifles were mine and my wife's first PCP rifles, my only issue was the pellet count.
Reximex Lyra is the king of budget rifles for me and Kirklees guns had them at £300 so a right bargain.
Thanks for commenting
Good honest stuff thanks 😊
Brilliant wee video...I have the kral np02 in .177..brilliant accurate piece of kit...would recommend one to anyone wanting a cheap way into pcp. I use a hand pump,I don't let it go down under 100 and it's easy to fill
That’s the key, little and often
Hi there 😊 popped in to wighill on the off chance one day and saw the perfect budget rifle i would recommend to any one all day long the reximex pretensis in .177 iam now a massive reximex fan and have the ixia carbon .22 as well and put these against any other I would recommend popping to wighill we're ever you are in the country great store and he really know his stuff hopefully popping back to see what else I can pick up soon
Hope to see you back soon
Keep up the great work and a fantastic stock shop and always willing to help
Much appreciated
I agree 👍 love mine
Glad to hear it 👍
Enjoyed the Video mate keep them Coming 👍🏻
More to come!
I have a NP02, it’s a cracking little gun and accurate too, l got mine in a sale brand new for £300 which was a bargain 😊👍
In my time I have owned both a NP03 & a NP02, the NP02 & will agree with your findings, the better of the 2 was definitely the NP02 & I have seen one in my local RFD in an Orange laminate stock, which looked the part, great video round up as always 👍
PS not a hater😜
Thanks for sharing 🫡
Sounds a great buy and you seem to know your stuff❤️
Thanks. Look out for more vids
Hi, just found your channel and subscribed .
Sound advice and fantastic quality gun.
Many thanks
Good review mate will take your word
Much appreciated
You’re 💯 right not to trust Range Rights chronograph report, one of my rifles had one and it was way off..
I've got a npo2 and I love it
Great choice
I was just about to buy one, the only thing that stopped me was an offer of a minty Ultra SE at the same price. Still very very tempted by the NP though...
Have an np-02 myself in .177 awesome rifle for the price
Whats there to hate?. Very helpful thank you.
Thank you for commenting 👍
Brilliant gun and does the job
It certainly does
Well explained, thank you
I agree with your view (I bought one great rifle) keep the videos coming
Thanks for contributing
Nice watch
Thanks for watching
When a manufacturer cobbles together a rifle from a pistol you get internal problems. This is the situation with the Kral NP-02. Yes, the barrel, stock and look is great and yes, buy it at the price. However be prepared for an early visit to a gunsmith or some work if you’re handy yourself. Start by replacing all the o-rings and be prepared to deal with issues like hammer bounce. There is no such thing as a bargain in air gunning unless it’s in a sale. You have been warned! Regards, Baz.
Thanks for commenting. I have sold 100's of these over the years. Every PCP can leak regardless of price. However the issues you have listed I have never come across with the Kral NP-02. The very early models had some barrel and valve problems, but that was rectified by the importer and new barrels were supplied as well as replacing the original valve made by Kral with a polymer one increasing the shot count.
This is a fair shout, as others have said the Lyra would be a good alternative. Neither the NP02 or the Lyra is regulated though right?
Just the wrong side of £400 (and it is just) is the Pretensis, and that’s a very, very nice regulated rifle for the money, and I’d much rather have one of those (just my opinion). The thing with the NP02, is the volume of air, a lot of people who buy this budget gun won’t be able to refill it that easily, so they’ll be getting a lot of shots per refill, which is a very attractive proposition to someone just getting started.
It’s pretty tough to find a bad Kral or Reximex these days
I have this later model np02, kral puncher breaker synthetic, and the lyra k at this moment in time. All i believe i paid less than 400 new for. I think your right about the np02 taking first spot if shot count is essential to your requirements and your lefthanded but the cocking lever being on the wrong side, (for righthanded) there being wallnut but not a lot of it and the large length of pull the lyra k wins due to its silky smooth bi-athalon lever, lovelly wallnut stock and just shoulders better. Eye relief on the puncher breaker wasnt mentioned on the design brief so that alone for me personally takes it out of the running (plus the fact it went back to the supplier for a rebuild after 1 tin of pellets under warranty) uk review
Thanks for contributing. Loo k out for new videos soon
Got one I love it.
👌. Enjoy
Interesting stuff. Im thinking of getting a 177 pcp rifle, I would probably have overlooked the NP02 (no logical reason… just personal bias for other rifles). Thanks anyhow.
Happy hunting!
Love my npo2 prefer it to my rm8
Your a verygood lad and helpfull
Thanks for joining the conversation
They are a cheap and cheerful gun for sub £400 new. If my kids get into shooting I could see me picking one up as a starter rifle. Personally I'd sooner go pre owned and get an Ultra or an s200.
Hard to argue with that choice, ok the trigger & the LOP both aren't great but you're paying very little, it's expected.
Nearly bought one but got a P15 instead when they were £299, might still get the NP02 in the future.
Thanks for sharing.
It is a nice gun, I think it would look even nicer in a black synthetic stock.👍🏻
That’s the only stock it’s missing isn’t it
Not everyone either wants to or can afford £2k plus rifles. At sub 12 ft lbs they are really just as good at 30yds as the really expensive stuff anyway, well nearly. Thanks for the explanation as to why .22 get more shots than a 177.
Thanks for watching
Always used German springer just bought Diana stormrider first pcp ever for my back garden can't believe how accurate this cheap little gun is
Lyra 👌🏻
Great rifle also
I'm lucky to have what I consider a nice collection of airguns. Theoben, Airarms, FX, Daystate, AGT etc. The one thing they all do is hit a target at 30yds. Price isn't everything and any of these guns mentioned in the video can hit the same target with the same accuracy. Its not about what you spend its about how you shoot. Top of the range airguns are nice but it doesn't make a bad shooter better or vice versa. Gun snobbery is a big problem & puts people of the hobby and it shouldn't. Enjoy what you can afford and ignore the folk who say you need more to enjoy a hobby that only 30 years ago was mainly done with £50 springers & beer cans.
Well said
Absolutely about the snobbery. It goes on with everything in life. Next door neighbour has a new car, we need a new car. Next door neighbour goes on holiday for a week, we have to go for 2 weeks. Etc Etc 😂😂
I took a 20 year break from Airguns and it was a shock when I got back into the hobby. £2500 for an airgun was unheard off a few years back and its not inflation, its fashion and good old fashion snobbery. Its nice to have nice things but it doesn't make you better than the person next to you who's gun is just as a nice to them even if its cost 20% of what you paid. Kindness costs nothing and comes in all calibres.
I’m asking to all out there what is your opinion on the RM 8 ! I’m currently using a TX200 M3 .I’m looking to have a try with a pcp any advice would be appreciated!! What would you recommend!! Thanks 👍👍
Not a bad gun at all. But well worth considering that the RM8 is quite front heavy. I’d definitely try one out first 👍
Check out the Gamo Arrow. New in the UK. Quiet, accurate and cheap
Thanks for sharing
I hope the Northern Ireland dealers can offer this price!
Can you easily travel abroad with these guns via plane, having it in the stow away luggage?
That would most likely depend on the country you’re flying to.
It can cost nearly as much as your air fare to take a gun of any sort on board a plane.
Hi
I just don’t get why people have to be so nasty and critical, especially with a person who knows what they are talking about. Life is full of opinions, and like arseholes, everyone’s got one, but just because your opinion doesn’t match someone else’s, it doesn’t mean you’re right, it’s simply an opinion. As a newbie, I listen to all the experts and then I will form my own opinion and purchase what I want at the end of the day, whether I end up making the right or wrong decision, it’s my decision to make. Thanks for your videos, and ignore the ignorance bud
Thank for your support
May i buy from Bangladesh?
I would have to look into that for you. Send me an email and I will send you some info.
Please don’t mention the Stoeger XM1🙄
Don’t worry I won’t 😇
Gamo gx40 still takes some beating pellpax were doing them for £240 😮
GX40 was a good seller and the phox package. Until Kral brought out the Nish
Ignore the trolls in the words of the revered prophet Taylor Swift..... haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate lol. I'm going to get my first PCP next month I'm looking at the Walther Reign
Thanks for commenting. Give me a call and we can can you one sorted 👍
Kral puncher k
👍
I didn’t watch this one… purely because PCP rifles aren’t my thing… I do have a question for you though…. In your pre-owned items…. do you ever come across either the Webley Tempest or Hurricane? i’m not a collector so not too worried about it being boxed… as…. I want one to use (at the right price) … if it’s something you can help me with… I’d make a trip across to your store if the pistol was at the right price of course…..
Also viciously commenting on people’s channels just shows the “keyboard warriors “ up for what they are… and like u say it helps the channel either way!
Hi there. We do get pre owned guns coming in on a weekly basis. Keep an eye out on our pre owned section of the website. 👍
I've heard the reximex myth is better.
It is a good rifle. The price has dropped in recent months too.
Np02 was a great riffle but these new version suffer with a crap magazine they just don’t last and around £25 a pop to replace them it soon gets expensive! Great guns ruined by the mags
would not go anywhere else
🤩
we all love the haters as they have a sad life.
Thanks for commenting.
NP 02 is a bloody good gun for its price but with two bits I dont like, (1) the self destructing magazines and (2) the very long LOP.
Thanks for sharing. The magazines do break if pushed too far in the clockwise direction. It’s fairly common. I did a video on this a couple of years ago. You can also adjust the length of trigger pull by removing the stock and tightening the rear of the trigger. Thanks for commenting.
BSA ultra worth considering and it's British made second hand.
10.9 or 11.45 isn’t the same it’s half a ft/lb🤔🤷♂️ in the sub 12 world is a big difference especially with a choked barrel.
Thanks for commenting.
@@wighillparkgunstv2257 not problem, just helping with the algorithm 👍🏻👌🏼
What is it about every English video about air rifles where they talk, talk talk about such irrelevant information, your background, whjat the video is about etc. just get on with it.
