Best wishes with the claw hammer style🙌🏻. I am glad you will still be posting some 3 finger style videos. I really appreciate them and they have been very helpful. Looking forward to seeing some claw hammer progress videos.
Think you are absolutely right to focus on one style. I am still working on 3 finger and a long way from where I want to be I tried taking up the claw style but it just distracted me from getting better on 3 finger. Your advice has been important to me. Your style and the issues you discuss have been very relatable. Looking forward to your future posts. Thanks
Hi Sandy...click bait ? No way, I just thought that you'd maybe had your banjo stolen, or you'd lost your picks...Haha ! Anyhoos, I just hope that I can reach the same skill levels as you have, and feel the need to explore more styles out there...At the moment I'm just about managing to knock out 'Banjo In The Hollow', and weirdly I can play more confidently with the banjo muted. I guess this is because I can be more positive in picking the strings, and not worry about the noise I'm making. I look forward to your future videos, and thanks for taking the time to do them. Cheers, Steve.
Actually I feel like I play better with the banjo muted as well. I’m not sure if it’s the mellow tone or that the strings don’t ring out… but it is something I have noticed for years .
There are so many variations to learn In each style it’s hard for me to say to say it’s limited. But I do feel like clawhammer is more universal than the 3 finger style.
@@BanjoAddict your videos are a great help to someone in my position, someone starting out in the wonderful world of banjo playing. I have a couple of questions: 1, can you recommend a good claw hammer style banjo? 2, can you recommend a good claw hammer style banjo course? Kind regards
@@chrisfuller767 honestly the deering goodtime is a great banjo. im looking at getting a deering senator later this year. recording king has some nice open back banjos as well. I am using clawhammerbanjo.net to learn clawhammer. i think its about 20 dollars a month but all the resources there are wonderfull

The banjo is a lifetime instrument to learn. It takes devotion. It comes with rewards.

Clawhammer is what I want to play too.
Stay tuned, I am planning on starting another page dedicated to just clawhammer around the first of august
Personally I think 3finger is limited, there is so much more in frailing . Now if i can get my fretting and timing right .

Be very very afraid as you may get addicted to clawhammer and never go back 3 finger style.
You are right! 4 years later and I mainly play clawhammer. And I am loving it!!!
