i used to spend entire days at my local slot car track as a kid ... this video brought back a lot of memories .. glad the sport is still around and kicking
In scale speed, it would be faster than F1 cars, but yeah, it's not faster in reality. F1 cars aren't even the fastest in cornering. That title goes to F1 powerboats.
Just got into slot cars with my kids and this speed is insane. I love how at this caliber theyre barely even "cars" but more so just hunks of aerodynamic plastic on wheels, lmao. Very cool, though!
I raced in the early '90's. My fastest time around a track like that was 2.4s. They were doing it at 1.65 which is insane. I think they were using glue in the corners.
I was thinking the same, cpt Kirk.. How on earth can they keep track of this? Unless it's all flatout it looks impossible to throttle control this. Insane fast.. And we are used to Warp and FTL, so we know what fast is. lol.
Lol man, the one dude with the Mad Max nightvision goggle looking things bopping his head... the dude who casually looks away at the thing that fell on the floor while still racing somehow...
After some practice it becomes easy like the car is a sixth sense. An extension of your body and mind. It also helps that drivers usually pick and stick with their favorite color car.
There was some tracks like this in southern Ontario. They all seemed to have come and gone. Would love to find a track. I still got all my cars, Ready to race!
Honestly the only real driving is on White, red purple and black, the other 4 lanes those guys were running flat out. And believe it or not, the ear is better than the eye at this level
Faster than an F1 ONE CAR . well they go so fast l cant see the Little Buggers . At least l can see an F1 Car wizz by @ the Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 F1 GP 😅😅
high current. the motors pull~40 amps at start, cruise(full on) @ ~2 amps. 120,000+ rpm. this has been going on since the 70s actual 70mph+ ~mach2 @scale
Pls, tell us: how fast is this? It's hard to guess on this scale, but it is UNSANE fast. Too much for myself to have fun, but impressive nevertheless. :)
Cars are ugly, the track is ugly, it is too fast to enjoy anything. Absolutely not my thing. I prefer by far slot cars looking like real ones and track looking more real with some landscape and decorations.
The smell of hot grease, solder and burnt up motors those places had.... nostalgia

Looks like it's all about feeling the rythm of successive rounds! Impressive
😂 that creep in the background 2:02 😆
F1 Team: We built cars with the fastest cornering speed of the world!
Wing Slot-Car owner: Hold my beer...
Great video, JJ!
Greetings from Brazil!

Good point, John!
I still have my slot cars from when it all first started

I’ve driven one there is multiple classes I drove wing-10 in Australia very hard to get use to the speed and timing of corners. But very awesome.

Goop
wow that is crazy fast, this is huge change in the old slot car tracks i was raised on I need to look into this!
Das ist total klasse gemacht. ❤
One can bearly see them? It’s like racing Atoms ⚛️.
i used to race as a kid, a big challenge was keeping the motor alive. quite a bit of strategy comes into play with gearing selections and tires etc.
I would love this have this machine.
Sensational Slot Car Track .
🤯 WOWWW. How do they keep track of their car...that's insanely fast..

@@bsg75husker tracking device probably.
Practice. Practice makes perfect in the slot car kingdom
best Ive seen wow I can feel the love !
Lol man, the one dude with the Mad Max nightvision goggle looking things bopping his head... the dude who casually looks away at the thing that fell on the floor while still racing somehow...
how can you know what is happening at that speed?
Paint them neon, drop the hammer, and race one corner ahead of your car..
Thx - awesome video bro!
Sehr gutes Video, Danke 😁
Danke😁
there just little blurs on the screen you just see the racers heads going from side to side as they try to keep up with the speed of those cars
Cool! You wouldn't run those times on our track! Original "Blue King"! Guess were I'm at!🤔😊! Est. 1963, track....65'!
Holy crap!
Ridiculous speed lol, how do you even follow your own car?
After some practice it becomes easy like the car is a sixth sense. An extension of your body and mind. It also helps that drivers usually pick and stick with their favorite color car.
Blue King track: 155 ft lap length. Best lap tine 1.632s. Best average speed: 94.98 ft/s, 28.95 m/s, 64.76 mph, 104.21 kph, 56.27 knots, Mach 0.087.
04:05 Dude wears gloves to prevent his fingerprints adding weight to the car where he doesn't want it. Clever!

Would love to find a track. I still got all my cars, Ready to race!
Does RaceWorld in Thornhill ring a bell? Late 90s I was racing there. Had a drag strip aswell!!
how fast are they going please???
I used to race group 7 open wing cars till the place near me shut down😢
How fast are these cars going?
I'm not in the class with these guys, but my son has a wood 8 lane track and we have wing cars turning laps around 600 mph in scale.....JC
is this a blue king?
yes
The vision and hand eye coordination of the drivers is impressive.
Honestly the only real driving is on White, red purple and black, the other 4 lanes those guys were running flat out. And believe it or not, the ear is better than the eye at this level
i'm pretty sure they just need to hold the trigger down.
@@33LB In the middle (green to yellow) yes probably, but red, white purple and black (the outside 4) are almost impossible even with those bodies
Are these Parma cars ? That was the brand in the 70s
No, these are much faster then Parma cars.
These G7 motors cost at least 500 up very high tech expensive hobby
unless you fully wind the armatures yourself
so is this a super common track design because im pretty sure this is the same track in my area.
lt's called a "King" and it is the standard design for wing car championships since the 60s.
Interesting
If you look closely...there are no front wheels...

I say make em drive. Race on an American King
👍 👍 🚀🚀
I don’t mean to be Naïve, but are these cars really that fast? What’s the voltage they being ran at? Totally amazing!!!
I couldn't tell you the voltage as I myself am new to the hobby, but yes, they are really that fast. I've seen it in person, and it's nuts.
They run at 13.8V

@@beroth1 crazy. looks even faster.
About 800mph to scale
Actually about 100 real speed at least in the straight. Been into it for 30 years. It's my favorite hobby still.

These are grown men..
california is the epicenter of slot car racing or it was when i was racing.i think it was called buena vista speed and sport
How do you even know whats what?
I have no idea what's going on here.
Too fast to have fun.
it';s cool, but way too fast for most of us to have fun indeed.. still impressive. :)
WTF oO that speed )))))))
What's the use?....everything is a blur.
Amazing , but they seem to go 100% throttle all the time ?
Yes, así no es funny
no
Wow too fast for any fun
This is absurd
Too fast, very unrealistic sorry..not for me.

Super boring
Way to fast
Complete nonsense
Clapping....hmm
Weird
World championships 😂😂
1.7 seconds around the track...... 1.7 seconds.
The current record is less then 1.5 seconds!
