Gaming festivals, who loves them?
I mean, honestly, I think gaming festivals would be really swell if there were less people, because I do like video games, but I don’t like having to wait to play them, often I just find myself aimlessly wandering and occasionally bumping into people who I may have seen at previous events and retaking the same photo, just this time with a slightly greater inkling of fatigue reflected in my weary smile. The pinball machines are great though, especially when you don’t have to pay for them. Hooray for free things, anyhow, the gaming festival that is of interest is Insomnia Gaming Festival 64, abbreviated to i64, this ran from the Easter weekend from the 19th to the 22nd of April. I saw a lot of close friends again, and met a lot of great creators, it’s always nice to do so because it humanises all these people and puts the internet into perspective. One of the people I met at the event was a bloke called Michael, known online as Slazo. He was pleasant, I had some facetious flirtatious exchanges with him, and after the event my life carried on. I knew some of the creators that I had met there were going to London afterwards, I would’ve joined them, but alas, I had University to complete, and I still feel RUclips is an unstable source of income so I wanted something to fall back onto in the case of everything falling apart.
A few weeks later, around mid May, I was likely alternating between University work and checking my social blade when one of my acquaintances messaged me some news. Apparently, Slazo, the person who I had multiple exchanges with at i64, was going to be shown up, he was just as surprised as I was. Apparently, these claims were going to be published in a TwitLonger in the following week, so I waited with anticipation, as I hadn’t actually seen any of the evidence I didn’t really talk to anyone about it, although I did tell one of my friends who was making a documentary about i64 to perhaps consider excluding any footage with him in, in case it tainted the finished product, more as an act of caution really. So I waited, and waited, and waited…
In the video I say "In a previous video" a few times, that "previous video" doesn't exist, had some changes to make to it and postpone its upload, so as always my schedule is all over the place.

How to properly clean your metal computer it’s a shame it couldn’t have been handled in the same way as the pro Jared case a few months ago. It should haves been fairly simple, but almost everybody handled it so horribly, and it disgusts me. It really does. Lies like the ones in this situation devalue what a lot of people DO have to go through. I wish that things like this would stop happening, as the worrying trend is just that(a trend)but I know they won’t, and I’m ashamed of that.
With situations like Slazo, ProJared, and Alec Halowka, perhaps people should try to handle situations in private rather than blast accusations all over the internet in an attempt to let social justice prevail.

Late to the party, but after reflecting on this am annoyed how imalexx acted. Thought the guy was pretty sound - hell, I enjoyed the Camp Cast episode with him James Marriot and TRO.
Yukimabi what’s the point of them apologising if most of them don’t mean it anyway. All these apology videos and whatnot are just ways of getting people to shut up and so they don’t get hurt because of the backlash.
They don’t make them out of a genuine remorse but because it is a necessity to stop their brand from being damaged.
Just be happy that we know who these bastards are now cause a devil out in the open is always better than one that is masquerading as an angel.
As a victim of an almost rape when I was nine, I am disgusted that someone would lie about being raped for clout. Rape is not a joke and false accusations can ruin someone's life.

in my experience, the innocent ones don't rush to make some half-baked response and actually take the time to formulate a response/counterargument.
I fucking hate that cliche, as if the speed of one's response proves your guilt. If anything innocent people take more time to respond because while a guilty person would have time to come up with some defense when accused, the innocent have no such foreknowledge of the accusation.

@@aartguy9829 the problem with that, is that in assuming the accused is innocent you then are doubting the "victim" so the victim is then guilty of a false accusation. I don't really know what the system should be, but either way has its flaws because both ways one person is assumed guilty. You could say assume they are both innocent, but as that is not a possible scenerio, either the accusation is true or not true, it is pretty impossible for a person to actually believe both to be innocent.
@@zach3394 The theory is that it's better to let a guilty person walk, because they can always be caught later or new evidence can emerge, than it is to condemn an innocent person because new evidence can't emerge to prove anyone's innocence, only somebody elses guilt. Therefore, it's better to place the burden of proof on the accuser. This also heavily discourages false accusations, because you have to prove what you're saying. If we go with a guilty until proven innocent system, you actively reward false accusations. Note that innocent until proven guilty isn't the same as assuming innocence; it's simply saying that unless guilt is proven, you are innocent by default instead of guilty by default. That doesn't nescisarily imply any assumptions during the actual proceedings, just a resolution of a stalemate.

The real reason why they don't go to the cops is because I found that as soon as somebody does these types of accusers tend to dissappear real quick.
Shadowcam Idk if someone’s actively being hurt or was hurt and has reason to suspect the person who has hurt them is still doing it or has the intention to, I think in some cases it’s ok to talk about it in public. While you should go to the police sometimes people are scared to or don’t have enough evidence and it’s not because they’re lying. Unfortunately a lot of people I know have gone through this including myself and sometimes you can’t go to the police. Obviously in this case it’s different but if it’s like me or my friend’s horrible abusive exs who have a big presence online, try to ruin your life in public or “private”/ in your inner group and know they’re gonna use the chance to prey on or hurt and abuse other people, I think it’s completely fine to go public with it on social media because sometimes it’s all you can do. Sometimes it gives other victims a chance to speak up. I do agree though that people who falsely accuse or exaggerate what happened do make it harder to believe people in these situations and it’s sad. If you’re upset or feel wronged about what happened but what happened doesn’t justify your feelings then there has to be another way to communicate that in public or in private. There has to be a better way to get the outcome you feel is right.

About a year later, and nothing has changed. I feel bad for Slazo. If you take a look at his channel, he barely uploads anymore, having uploaded like 6 videos in a year instead of the at least 30 in the year before that. Even though he was able to prove the accusations were false, he never bounced back from them. It's shit how his career just kind of ended like that. Even though he handled it as well as you can (waiting to make a good explanation video instead of crying on camera and having evidence etc) he still took a huge hit from it all. It sucks man, he was a good youtuber..
It's sad that now he probably choose to live in the community, trying to find job, and when someone found out about this whole "drama", it can be a reason for them to not accept him. I hope he lives a good life.

I hate how everyone turned on slazo over a female with false allegations, it was grandstanding at the very least. Slazo really did get thrown under the bus. nobody realizes how many people turned their backs on him. Slazo was on his own essentially and he had to go against a large group. I mean it would’ve made sense if he cried, but honestly I find it hard to think about myself if I was in his position. just imagine your best friend turning his back on you, and everyone you thought you knew supporting the other side. it just goes to show that RUclips’s community can never stand with someone for long, they will often betray you for a moral stand. Slazo is an example of how quickly people will betray you for subscribers and views.

If I was slazo I would have contacted a lawyer. He has a pretty good defamation case in his hands right now.
Normally I'd say there's not enough of a case to go through with a defamation lawsuit but I think Slazo could actually win it in his situation. Of course I doubt he would ever actually do that but there was such a huge abundance of lies and misinformation from reputable people unlike anything I've ever seen before that he could have definitely sued for a lot of money.
@@vaprin2019 I also think that he would never do this. He seems to want to get over the whole thing asap and a law suit wouldn't make that process any easier. Also not pursuing legal actions is the right thing to do from the perspective of a public figure, since that would probably change the whole public opinion about him. He is doing everything right there but it leaves me with a bad feeling that we let all of this go without any real reproductions for the initiators of the whole situation. I wouldn't care for a fine but I would want them to have this on there permanent records.
@@vaprin2019 And the thing is, that in a lawsuit like that, you have to prove that statements made against you are false, which he can do. He seems to have an abundance of instances where context alone disproves the allegations. Also chances are that some of the defendants would panic and galm back into their old behavior of lying. Which is literally the worst thing to do in a slander lawsuit where the thing you're being sued for is lying in the first place. At that point Michael would have the case in the bag, but that's all speculation for now 🤷♂️

Chey is a disgusting human. I hate that people are making her out to be a "young girl who made a mistake". No. She's a young adult who tried to ruin someone's life. If he hadn't been able to prove that he hadn't done anything, Slazo could have been neglected a career opportunity, or the ability to get married (if he wants) or childcare. That allegation would have followed him for the rest of his life.

I had a cousin accused by a minor just because he rejected her. He ended up getting deported because of it
I was about 14 when I told my mom I was SAed. She told me I didn't know what It meant and I held onto it for a long time. Years later I finally told a teacher I trusted that got me help, and I came home and my mom screamed at me for falsely accusing someone and ruining his life. She never once asked if I was telling the truth. I was. Suffice it to say that now in college she and I don't talk much. False accusations are disgusting and make it easy for people to go "oh little girls are faking it!!!! Men need to be protected!!" But that's just not true. False accusations don't hurt men, they hurt EVERYONE. They make genuine victims sound irrational, and attention seeking, and stop them from getting help.
I also appreciate how Slazo doesn’t outright counterargue Chey’s claims, he talks about his impression of the situation and backs those impressions with DMs from that time.

Because RUclips has provided a platform for people who don't have anything better to do, to get angry at someone they dont know anything about except for 'that one thing this person said about that person' and people are generally attracted to conflict/drama like this.. hence why we are here watching TROs vid on it. Plus some people love to hate on popular people.

Because people consume almost daily content from these people. The moment you find out the person you've been supporting is problematic....you'll get heated up one way or another.

I love how Imallexx said that they all knew about everything a year before this all got out yet ALL of them hung out with The so called predator Slazo this whole time before the allegations came out. Hell alex even lived with Slazo. Isnt that a red flag?? How all of a sudden you “dont wanna be assosicated or have a friend like THAT.” ??
Even if this was true, that he knew about this and Slazo was this "creepy predator" they make him out to be, it says more of his own character than anything else.
He should have no moral authority on the topic at all, because he *knowingly* kept relations to an "awful predator" and it didn't bother him at all - until it went public. His authority to form an opinion and accusation falls flat on him being an oppurtunist.
I really feel like Alexx and co knew it was bs. However when Slazo began to gain more fame and started to threaten Alexx’s self-perceived clout, they formulated a plan. Hell, that last part isn’t even speculation, because their private chats talk about the machinations of their plan! Alexx is a known user of fame to raise his status and then when he surpasses them he drops them. He’s even laughingly admitted it! He is insecure, and quite vicious when it comes to any “threat” to his “power.”
I laid out what happened to a therapist friend I have, and their (non binding) opinion was that Alexx probably has deep emotional insecurities and a high probability of being intrinsically narcissistic as a person.
Reading the chats between Alexx and co don’t sound like a plan to protect people from a perceived monster, rather a scheme to do a hit job on an social threat.
It just shows how sick people are.
Don't trust people too much, they are more than willing to let you die for their profit or clout.
When I was a kid, we moved & my childhood friend moved to. He made new friends, got into drugs... I met him again, he looked horrifying, invited him to our house & promised he would come. Yet, he never came because that week he went to a concert, had a overdose & all the friends made a run for it.

Things I thought were on the level back then are definitely not now when I look back. But in the moment, I didn't get that. It seems that was the problem here. Hindsight has given them different ideas of what happened.
For him, it was wrong, but they were clueless teens and he doesn't remember it being that bad. For her, it could very well be that she sees it worse in hindsight. It's even possible something may have happened to her between now and then to change her perspective.

I am really sad because I really loved their group but, they acted like the allegations were not that bad for them to make and tried to stand by em after. The only apologies I felt were actually heartfelt were The Duckies and Kwite's. Kwite was even honest in saying even though he felt what his friends did was shitty but came from a place of mob mentality n concern, and that made them act irrationally in kwites eyes. I feel that is so honest because that was his perspective when it came to the situation, so it made sense that he thought they all were thinking the same thing. I sometimes think my friends are thinking the same thing in some situations and sometimes I am wrong. As far as me n Dolan duckie goes he did not know as much as the group was willing to give, so he right away had the same idea of kwite with no further information to prove anything and going off emotions alone he acted before slazo responded like alot of people. Then alexx only responded when he became tired of the hate and his apology sounded like... I am sorry but not sorry but mostly sorry to ppl i offended but ya. -._-.

Not a lot of victims think about calling the police because sexual assault is a lot more complicated than people thinkkk.
But still don’t publicly oust someone on social media... bringing strangers into the situation isn’t going to help anyone and people on both sides just get hated on. (accuser and accused).
RUclips has provided a platform for people to just openly defame someone with accusations true/not .. i would think sexual allegations would be serious enough to go to the police but apparently not.
Now, its go online and make a convincing RUclips video and that's enough as the audience stop thinking at that point and just start taking up their pitchforks (keyboards) towards the accused. Then drama channels get into it half because they have something genuine to say about it and half to get in that youtube monzzz.
And the people who make the false accusations are the worst of them.. Making those kind of accusations on a platform like this is career ending for most people (maybe even life for some). Anyone can say anything here and people run with. If the accused has any sort of a skeleton in his closet (not matter how small it may be) he/she is screwed.

I’m a survivor too, and of course I eventually thought of police after a year, but there is no proof for what happened to me.. so it’d just end up undecided- I was just trying to say that going to police isn’t all people’s first response to assault (my excuse to myself is that he loves me and it would break his heart). The fact that he was able to call himself out for his mistakes shows me and a lot of others that he was able to cope with the fact that he wasn't the best person, and he did make stupid, sex drive induced decisions that he later realized were wrong.
