What a wonderfully relaxing video for your viewers . St Anne's is a place that is sheer class. No wonder so many of the old stars bought houses there. I love the fact that there is such a lot of seating available (for those who need to sit down regularly) I loved Ashton Gardens and all the lovely shops. Thanks so much Stephen, looking forward to watching your other videos on this wonderful place.
I’m going to enjoy seeing this video. Many a time , and I’m talking 60 years ago , I visited my grandparents house in Fairlawn Road. You knew you’d arrived when you saw the windmill . And visiting the indoor circus at Blackpool Tower and seeing Charlie Caroli and the ring be flooded at the end of the show.
I live in st annes with my grandad but I loved this video because I I was able to see my grandad on this wonderful RUclips channel anyway keep up the good work
Had to miss this as it went out but caught up on replay. St Anne’s looks a beautiful tranquil place probably more for an older age group more so than Blackpool obviously. The little town and shops look so quaint. Look forward to parts 2 & 3.👍
Hi Steve, Lovely Video of St Anne's I think I could be quite happy living there, what a splendid park & some beautiful propertys & those gardens are beautifully well maintained we missed you last night. Well Steve has always hopefully catch you on the next one all the best Dave &Nigel
Great walk Stephen. My wife & I visit St Anne's & Lytham many times during the year. I only wish we would have relocated there when we retired. The Fylde coast is a wonderful part of Lancashire & indeed the UK.
I lived in St Annes way back in the late 1960s residing at 2 Singleton Avenue and working at Hadley Motors which is now J & M cars in Hove road... A beautiful town which holds many fond memories for me...
Thanks for coming to visit us here in St Annes - great video as usual. Gerrard's Auction rooms used to be a denture factory! Number 15 was Lloyd's Bank, now an excellent pub with a very impressive interior.
I used to live in a the middle floor flat at the end of the terrace houses next to the railway line, I absolutely loved living in the square. I got married in the church next to Ashton Gardens and had my wedding pictures taken next to the pond. My Grandparents lived near the old pre bonds site and my Mum grew up in St Annes and worked in Boots in the Square. The private DR’s was my bank “The Royal Bank of Scotland “ but it closed a couple of years ago and moved into the NatWest opposite. I’m not sure if the Bet Fred was the old Lloyds Bank. I wonder if they made gardens like that in Blackpool town centre if people would treat it nicer, St Annes Square is always looking nice and clean and it’s nice to hear the birds. There was another good camera shop on St David’s Road to the left of the Catholic Church and a Jesops in the Square, if someone opened another it would do well the nearest one we found was in Kendal shopping centre.
Hi Stephen, My Great Uncle used to work as train driver, and one of routes was St Annes-on-the-Sea to Preston. This station was originally 2 line-two platform station. My Great Uncle said the second line was discontinued in 1982 and completely removed in 1986 when station was made much smaller, with the removal of the original platform structures. St Annes-on-the-Sea has always attracted a more middle class holiday maker versus Blackpool which attracts more of working class holiday maker. There was also once a daily service from St Annes-on-the-Sea to Manchester Piccadilly train service which was withdrawn 2008
Are you fascinated in trains because I do know quite a few trains there are the class 158 class 185 class 700 class 150 class 156 class 153 and the class 390 pendileno . do you know any of these .
Near the barnardos charity shop in St Anne's is the building where Frank Dickinson the man who invented contact lenses practiced ,there is a plaque outside to commemorate his work and you missed it. He is an unrecognized hero and deserves a mention for changing the world for a lot of people
Now l still remembered the locals called their town in different pronunciation .. local slang like" St. Tann"..at first l didn't get used to it..a very lovely town to live in..quiet and peaceful with friendly people around..thank you Stephen once again..
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always I absolutely love st annes its so pretty and full of character something for everyone beach shops beautiful gardens cant wait to visit again take care xx
A great video from Stephen again..Down to the memory lane and all these places names mentioned in the video bring back sweet and fond memories of St. Anne's on sea...
What a lovely place. We'll establish place with the old buildings. Yes I agree no camera shops there a thing of the past I'm a wedding photographer and everything is online. Thank you Stephen. Fantastic content 👌...
Many thanks for your time uploading i never knew st annes had so many shops gardens next holiday im going to book a break to st annes for a change thanks again
Nice video found out some interesting stuff. Hope my next trip to UK to check it out and some of the publicity houses , cafes and restaurants. Thanks Stephen for venturing out in the wet and cold.
Hi Stephen great first episode from St Annes! The Number 15 pub was formaly a bank and is beautifully decorated in oak paneling in its interior, also you cant sit in the old vault and even book it for parties! You should pop on one day and check it out! Thankyou for another good video!
I really enjoyed this video Stephen, such a lovely place. Always look forward to your videos, they are all so very interesting Can't wait for videos 2 and 3. Thank you :)

It's amazing Barclays and Natwest banks still located at the same place after almost 45 years. I didn't see the lloyd's bank and assume it's no longer exists. The subway outlet is newly established and it's used to be a Chinese restaurant at the basement..l really enjoyed watching your videos with updated informative ..thanks Stephen..
Stephen I have never been to St Anne's but I must say it looks a lovely peaceful place. The Pier looks amazing. It looks like a nice place to retire to.
Great video and great memories. I grew up in the area. The Lord Derby was originally called The Bounty (circa 1982) and was themed around ships and pirates. Very tacky but very 80s.
Really enjoyed looking round St.Annes it's a lovely place.Think I remember you visiting there before but not as much detail.Thankyou and look forward to the next😁😁😘😘
Bet it looks great in the summer Gardens in full bloom never been to St Anne's looks very peace full prefer Blackpool cheers Stephen great video love Blackpool me Peter t darlington 👏👏👏👏📹📹📹📹🚶🚶🚶🚶👍👍
Hi Stephen, interesting video as usual. I just had to laugh when you said about the pub originally being the Ad meyeral instead of Admiral lol. Keep safe my friend.
Thanks for the video Stephen, enjoyed it very much. I was born in St. Annes and the family moved to Blackpool in 1976 when I was 11 (parents bought a hotel and I went to Arnold School). Brought back a lot of memories. I can vividly recall hanging out at 1 Eleven Records deciding what singles to spend my pocket money on or whether to save up for an album. I think it may have been on Orchard Road or Wood Street although I didn't recognise the shop in the video - long time ago now. My Nan lived on St. Annes Rd East and her favourite shop was JR Taylor. The cafe there was her regular haunt. I must say that it looks like St. Annes is being looked after a lot better than Blackpool. Looking forward to the next one.
Another great video Sir! I admittedly never knew the English HQ of the beautiful game was here! It’s try… you learn something new every day! I might just have time for part 2 now… 🤞
St. Annes looks to be a really nice, dare I say it, even ye olde fashioned style seaside resort. Maybe I should make the effort to go and visit it this summer. That station was interesting, it obvuously had double lines at one time, and even has the old platform on the other side still extant.
A really good video Stephen we love St Anne’s and have eaten in the Bakes & cakes on the Main Street and would highly recommend it👍 your videos are so very interesting and we look forward to part 2 Thanks 😁 Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🍁

My Mum's uncle Joe used to live in a house called Fairhaven, which was on Clifton Drive... only went there once when I was really little (probably only about 6yo).. many moons ago
My ex(alcoholic) Girlfriend hated Blackpool but loved St.Annes for the shopping and sites. I had to pretend I didn't have my wallet but I can say we enjoyed St.Annes very much away from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool(though I still like Blackpool for The Pleasure Beach) !"
Loved this tour through St. Anne's On The Sea. All of this fascinates me, the buildings, the parks, the RR station. Wonderful. As a suggestion, could you orient the viewer to place and location with a bit more detail during your introduction? It would be especially helpful to those of us living across the pond. Thanks!
Fylde Council do seem to look after the garden areas better. No doubt about it. Saying that, Blackpool has a lot more visitors, of whom quite a few trash our green spaces.
I'm looking to buy one of your photography pieces for a friend's birthday present, was just wondering what the price ranges were and if you could deliver it in person for her as she is a huge fan of your channel but unlike me hasn't met you yet.
