The ticking seems to be the extruder gears skipping on the filament. Mine does the same thing when the pressure between the extruder nozzle and print is too high. The ticking can cause the extruder to bind up and clog if it gets too bad/frequent. The bubbles are a problem, my XXL has the same issue and I'm not sure what causes it.
Morndenkainen How has the XXL been working for you?.... I want to buy one but I read a lot of complaints from both the product and the company not responding, but I want a fast 3d printer with large built area and this XXL seems to be the only one to fit the bill, can you share some of your experience? maybe make a video of a print (but please not the vase something else in real time) thanks.
Peter Saravanos The XXL is a piece of garbage.. I finally got a refund from my credit card company as Nathan at QUBD refused to fix the issues with the printer despite acknowledging them and promising parts and support. I've had nothing but issues with the Z-bed not wanting to level properly, you have to re-adjust the build plate with every build. The extruder still doesnt want to work properly, I'll set a temp in repetier and the hot end is like 10* off. I really wish I'd never bought this thing but since it turned out to be free, (QUBD doesn't want their defective crap back either) I guess it's not a huge loss, just a major headache. I'm probably going to buy an E3D bowden hotend and make an adapter next month and see if I can't get this thing working. If I still have issues with it, I think I've learned enough to be able to build one. Honestly, I can't recommend buying one. Nathan is a piece of crap and just a lying waste of space in general.
I do not use it anymore. Its basically collecting dust at the moment 😊. My experience is that fast speed = unreliable prints. Printing a vase is easy since it is almost same speed and very few retractions. My qu-bd was very unreliable printing other things. I have since bought a wanhau duplicator 4x and a Ultimaker 2. Both those printers are much more relible. Ultimaker is perfect. Support from qu-bd is horrible. I have not yet received my complete order and it is now several years ago. Sending them emails is like sending nowhere. I would strongly disadvise buying this printer. It does not help printing fast, when most prints will fail. Then its much better pressing print and wait 2-3h and get an successful print almost everytime.
Frode Marton Meling I'm having the same issue with my RXXL It's been a dust magnet for the better part of the last year. Finally got a refund from my credit card co. Guess I'm going to splurge a bit and buy and E3D hotend and a good bowden drive and get back into it. It's a lot easier to look at something when you dont feel like you've just been screwed out of nearly $2800
