Those raspberries look great and the plants very healthy! I've tried to find someone here that I could get some nice plants to start my own raspberry patch with no luck. Good explanation of picking quality berries.
Hello Mrs Laura , y’all have a very big Raspberry patch . Those looked so good . I bet some of those berries and a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream in the blender would taste wonderful !!! Thanks for sharing . Del
What a beautiful patch! We've got a small patch of wild berries and the birds grabbed most of them. Thanks for sharing this. We'll be expanding next season. Cheers Laura!
Hi thank you for watching. I have heard a lot about birds getting into the berries. We haven’t had this issue but have several bird houses. I will have to check into how to keep the birds away and why they aren’t bothering our patch. Hope all is well!!
@@osiadaczfamilyfarm8036 Our culprits are the Robins. The berries are ripening just as the baby Robins are maturing. Easy food for Mom and kids. When we expand, we'll need bird netting. Cheers!
Hi Laura, you have a beautiful raspberry patch. I am new to raspberries and am wondering what variety you have, also are most raspberries varieties susceptible to sun blistering? Thank You for the very informative videos, I'm looking forward to many more. Thank You.
Hi Robert, We have Nova Raspberries, also known as Rubis Heritage. They grow in zones 4-8 and are quite hardy. As for the blistering I am not sure if there are other varieties that are less affected by the extreme heat. We live in Central, Wa were we get extreme weather. Lots of snow in the winter and hot/ dry summers. We always get enough berries the blistering doesn’t bother us much. In our state the berry fields are closer to the coast where the temperatures are more mild and they get a lot more precipitation. One other thing that is helpful for our berries since we live in an area with hot dry summers is the use of irrigation. We water quite heavily to ensure we get nice plump berries. 😀 Laura
Totally amazing!❤❤❤

Good tips for knowing when your raspberries are ripe. Laura are all of your raspberries the same or do you have different varieties?
Thank you! We have all the same kind. They are the Nova Red Raspberries.😊
