I just got my first one today. Absolutely gorgeous and she's just a little baby, cant wait to get her a mate when she is older but for now she's "sticking" with me. Thank you for all the tips, this really helped me understand how I should care for my new baby :)
They're amazingly beautiful, I love those crimson red wings and I'm so very glad to see that these as well as many other animal species are preserved in captivity so that their future is safeguarded.
@@daniella4519 honestly, I just threw it in there with the other stuff and hoped for the best. My guess is that the Nymphs were the ones getting accustomed to- and, growing up, retaining a taste for it.
there stunning. dead cheap aswell. you can buy the eggs and hatch them or buy them as babies . readily avaliable in captivity but in the wild there so rare
Heya, not sure if you are still listening to comments on this video but I am looking into buying my own Black Beauties, though I just wanted to be sure I did everything right, anyway, what kind of privet do you feed your insects, (scientific name pls). Thx.
Do anyone have tips for newly hatch black beauty’s?? Rn my very first black beauty’s hatched and I’m wondering if I can keep them with the rest of the eggs or if I should try moving them to a temporary in closer till they get bigger? Thanks for any help 🫶🏼
Hi! there a stick insect called Heteronemia mexicana, did you know about their humidity needs?? I have a terrarum liku yours but filled with moss high humidity levels..... could it work??
I have too myself one is much bigger than the other and in the tank there is loads of little black balls in the bottom are they eggs and if they are how can I make sure they are successful
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS thank you so much:) I'm picking up 8 nymphs next week and trying to find good info on them is hard! I really appreciate this video, it really helped me out. I'll give you a sub:)
Privet can be found at home depot or lowes here in us. Contact a local landscaper to ask where you can get. They are usually used to landscape new houses.

I managed to get mine to feed un Bramble sometimes too so I could desecrate my neighbours hedge a bit less often.
How did you get yours to feed on brambles?

Sounds good to me

i have 3 of my own and was wondering if you knew how long it took for their eggs to hatch?
I estimate 3 months. Keep them moist bit not wet . Not cold and you'll be fine. They don't need a male to lay fertile eggs either
Mostly 6 months
But somtime 1 year
Awsome
cheers hun. its the eyes and wings i love lol
Where can you find pesticide free plants and ones that don't have fertilizers?
Where do you buy privet from?
Would exo terra tropical terrarium substrate be good as substrate ??
Perfect
Are these legal to keep in America?
Sorry but I've no idea haha
Yes
Are they parthenogenic?
classed ad pathogenic. they dont need a male to produce but for better success with breeding projects it is wise to pair them
