Victorian time in EU4 ► • VICTORIA but it's ACTU...
In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4 1.36 King of Kings) video we are checking out a mod that winds the clock back to the year "1" and wipes the map, with only a few one province minor nations in Greece, Egypt, China, India, and Mesopotamia. Their goal is to develop culture, religion, and populate the world!

Ancient Babylon won religious victory
Something tells me the reason for the bordergore is that the Jain religion has a stability hit for declaring war, so most AI are just refusing to expand and instead making use of the -25% dev cost.
ohhhh that very much could be it

Finally, a fantasia mod! In EU2 there was campaign start called Fantasia and it looked almost exactly like this game.
I loved that one!
I’ve played the mod during the first 200 years of the game and it’s really weird
There are some good concepts like ruler’s mana gains giving bonus (5 or 6) or malus ( below 3) but it gives harsh stability malus to every nations which is why it takes so much time to expand, the goal is to have as much rebels as possible and if they occupy a province for a certain time the game release the nation. As a player it is possible to maintain a somewhat stable reign but not with to many nations close by.
Also, as you have said in the video, it is a promising mod which make funny culture and religion map but it need some work, I’m thinking about ages, it could be interesting to have a variety of them and see the stabilization of society through the malus being lifted partially or totally instead of the four basic ones for the 1444-1821 period.
Also, love your vids man
2 dev province isn't real, it can't hurt you
2 dev province:
Qin is pronounced Chin
Hear hear!
Quinn
@@Chewbertyin
😂i thought it was unintentionally hilarious hearing quinnnnn in china, like Qin is why in English we call China china (qin-ah basically )
Why is it spelled Qin then? If the word is transferred into the Latin alphabet, it should follow the rules of the Latin alphabet instead of deciding that Q is ch!
I like how Minoans were just chilling in Constantinople after early-mid game
Hi this is the mod creator here, firstly thanks for the video!
Secondly, I'm going to explain a bit about what's going on.
There's 600 events for nations to spawn, basically whenever rebels occupy a province long enough, there's a chance of an event firing that spawns a nation.
New nations of they grow to like 10 provinces will get an event auto converting the religion to a new one not in the world, and a new culture group.
There's also modifiers for empires and such that can cause them to collapse and several other gameplay stuff like food/devastation, plagues etc. that you won't notice unless you're playing it and looking for it.
As for Jainism world religion, that's a bug actually, there's an event that causes religion to spread, but it's supposed to only be Christian Muslim or Buddhist ones converting pagans, because they spawn way later in the game. Confucianism Jainism Hinduism isn't supposed to convert pagans or be converted by christians Muslims Buddhists or reformed pagans.
It's already been fixed.
Normally nations can consolidate quickly due to some mechanics, I presume the balkanization is because of Jainism. Don't get me wrong, there's still supposed to be small nations and OPMs, it's just supposed to be that there's also large empires. In the beginning of the game for example plenty of AI empires form and conquer quite a bit until collapse
Also some empires "migrated" by being conquered and conquering other empires, which I find interesting, and that's how Kazakhstan ended up in China, it must've spawned in its usual place, been kicked out and moved to China.
Also the new world is empty on purpose so that EU4 colonization happens, even though it's not 'accurate: per say to real life. If there was any empires there, it would cause the new world to be filled up.
It was also interesting seeing Oudh and Saruhan form such a massive Indian empire before collapsing.
There's also new governments based on the Roman Empire but with alt history, like it can become a peasant Republic, empire, technocracy, military dictatorship etc.
It’s a dope mod with a lot of potential, I had a lot of fun watching it! I assume with the Jain thing fixed it would have looked quite different because AI avoids war when it will hurt it, like losing a stability
@@Chewbert yeah I've played my own ai only tests and just playing the game outright, for fixing bugs and balance and what not, normally the AI has little trouble forming empires despite the mechanics.
Also, I know why kazack and Moscow appeared where they did. In the mod, the nation spawning events won't fire if you are in a disaster, for civil wars in it. Because the culture was kazack in China, it must have had separatists, and the separatists broke the country and enforced demands, causing the kazack to show up because the culture there was kazack.
I love your mods so much 🙏🙏
Jainism already won a religious victory halfway through the video
I once made a mod that directly tranfers Civs from Civilization series into EU4, but sadly due to my inexperience and lack of knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting, my mod hasnt been updated since 1.28 (even though I tried).
But it's a nice spin on this by giving the proto nation to start things, instead of being Civ-like with the one nation throughout the ages.
Are you the Creator of Civilization Europa? I love that mod, it, and Liberation and Liberation+ inspired me to make my mod, because I liked playing those mods back when 1.28 and such were the latest version.
@@ChaffyExpert Civilization Europa? Nah, my mod is Civilization World. With a thumbnail clearly having Civ leaders with Gandhi at the center.
There was (probably still is) a mod that shamelessly took my mod, added their own small things, never asked my permission, didn't credited at the start until I made them to do it (even at that it was sloppy) and they even left a link for donations, which I didnt had on my mod page.
@@inspector_beyond Ah I remember that one I thought that both of them were by the same developer didn't realize the whole drama about it., that sounds like the one I'm thinking of though
@@ChaffyExpert on the mod that copied mine I left plenty of comments on the mod page that explain the situation. That's how you'll know that the mod is fake.
This mode has amazing potential, one time I delated all tags and started colonizing as portugal, I never stopped colonizing and I was creating vassals and independent states when I was over my gov cap. It was fun to create civiliziation and this mode do this in even funnier way, I hope it would get polished to avoid one religion and optymalization problems.
11:10 is it just me or is this frame lagged
It did
Is it really a Civilization game if there aren't Boat Mormons or Denouncing Venice?
Feels like this mod is missing out on the religious front.
This looks so promising, if they find a way to make neater cultures, simulate invasions and conquerors like the indo-europeans conquering India, or Cyrus conquering the entire middle east, and solve border gore it will be amazing
I had a similar playthrough earlier, not with this mod though. The trouble is, there's one particular mechanic that kills all the fun of such a campaign - and that is when you colonize a province, it gets assimilated. There's no way you could colonize it, add it to your nation, but have the original culture fully (or even partly) remain intact. So after a while you get huge mono-ethnic mono-religious blobs and any active gameplay basically comes to a halt.
the ck3 bordergore experience brought to an eu4 game near you
Well he ended in the ck3 time frame, so that kinda makes sense!
I really like how the world just steadily fills in and how nations pop out powers rise and fall.
the Minoan's survived in Constantinopel
firsy 😼😼
Edit: man i cant even spell first 😭
11:10 Uuhh, my video sorta froze here… 🫨
the mod got something right those Korean borders bascily 1444
I’ve played civ 1 and it’s honestly pretty good
"Mongol Mongolia"
just sucks that civilizations are missing, like Indo Europeans and Celts
It will be nice to have all European and Asian countries in America and all of EU and Asia continent as uncolonized, and see what the AI does, how it colonizes the old world.
Jainism is actually a very chill religion. Kinda like Buddhism before Buddhism.
EU4 but every starting capital province is Albanian land!
Idk why when i saw the Thumbnail i tought Cleopatra was Mira han

Rhye's and Fall of Civilization for EU4
Think Jain being the global religion maybe killed the game since it has -1 stab for starting a war is rough and I believe the AI realises when starting wars. Means less wars, less consolidations more wackiness with borders potentially when new spawns happen but ultimately gives no payoff and no killing ai brains to help with game performance
Great mod. Nothing to do with the civ games though.
Lebanon is acting in Lebanon’s geography not Syria 7:35
Praise the Egyptian God El Perun!
Does this mod just arbitrarily split nations once they reach a certain size? It's unsually fragmented
Drew mentioned!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS PROPER PRONUNCIATION RAHHHHHHHHHH
Now I'm curious how a timelapse would play out if the main change was just making France and its vassals Haidan and Nahuatl.
Veru cool mod. It would be nice if there was a option of more region related tags and cultures or maybe random tag spawning in remote areas.(It seems like random tags only spawn adcjent to already existing ones)
Based minoans, holding constantinople till the end
gotland that has gotland and is jannist is the most based
Try this with instant colonization I did it when it first came out and the map ends up a lot crazier
This reminds me of the Fantasia map in EU2. Good fun!
mfw I have the same CPU as chewy 🥰
Was it the colonist that was making it chug along at the end ?
I am thinking so, yeah
i remember this mod in old eu4

I thought I was smoking too much for Dutch standards when then screen started giving me these signs. 11:09
