After ten years of dancing and singing in green makeup and platform shoes as Frankenstein's Monster at Universal, Geoff is not shy about using makeup to help tell a story. Rick Underwood, who did the makeup here, is a friend from Geoff's theme park days. He still works as a makeup artist at a theme park. If a VoicePlay or Geoff video has elaborate makeup, it's probably by Rick. (Have you watched Little Mermaid Medley? Geoff as Ursula is NOT to be missed!) The VoicePlay guys LOVE Halloween. They've done four more songs from Nightmare Before Christmas: This Is Halloween, What's This (hinted at by the snow here at the end of Jack's Lament), Kidnap the Sandy Claws, and Oogie Boogie's Song. There's a Halloween playlist on the VP channel. For Geoff's solo channel, his other spooky videos include Monster Mash (with a cameo by his wife Kathy), Headless Horseman, and Ghost Riders In the Sky.
Rick Underwood worked his makeup magic as usual. 75% of this set came from their home and yard decor. Gave Geoff the excuse to buy the pumpkin stack and more pumpkins. Also more headstones and graveyard fencing and spooky trees, and even the Moon. The rest they filled in with items that Patty Cake had on hand. The ghost dog is Zero Jacks pet. This is all Geoff and Kathy. Arranged, Produced, Performed, Directed, and Edited by Geoff Castellucci. Concept, Creative Direction, and Costumes- Geoff and Kathy Castellucci
Geoff has a special way with all the Halloween videos he and Voiceplay have done over the years. In the case of Jack Skellington he seems to sympathize with him. Geoff has used the same makeup artist for years and he always does a fantastic job. Geoff has a problem with placing contact lenses in his own eyes and always needs help with them. I guess we are lucky he agrees to use them at all.
This song leads into another called "What's This?" where Jack discovers Christmas Town. VP had done 4 From Nightmare Before Christmas which is a little creepy frame by frame but fun. It's on Disney if you have it if not many of the songs are on youtube, I wonder if he'll do Jack's Obsession next year.. Oogie Boogie is the villain of the piece so yeah a big old bag of bugs...creepy. Great reaction. BTW VP released a couple more shorts today one is Time Warp (in the mall)
The snow is a hint that there's hope for Jack and a solution to his problem ahead. I bet you'd like the original movie--it does have some great music, the stop-motion animation is fantastic, and a big part of the premise is that the people of Halloween Town (where Jack is the Pumpkin King) are spooky and creepy because it's their job to make Halloween scary fun for kids, but they're not mean or malicious--most of them are actually quite nice. I enjoyed your reaction!
I've neve seen Nightmare either, but I've picked up hints about it from Voiceplay's covers and reactors explanaitions. At least this one didn't destroy your childhood, right? Geoff wanted to have a hopeful end that did not fit the music, hence the scene of Jack discovering snow.
This was filmem in Geoff & Kathy's home. Geoff had to take off his wedding ring & other ring as well as the necklace he always wears that Kathy gave him because of all the make-up he was wearing. The dog Zero was made & controlled by Geoff's wife Kathy. They are truly dedicated in putting out the best videos ever. In the behind the scenes you can see part of their kitchen. My guess would be that they had an open floor plan. I stand corrected.
This is not true. Are you in the Patreon? There is a full behind the scenes. This was shot at Pattycake studios. The only thing filmed in their kitchen was zero on a green screen. You could also bother to read his credits where it says filmed at Pattycake Productions Studio.
@@thisismetoday7423one of their patreon members stated that so I just repeated what she said. Thanks for the correction. Are you ? You don't have to be so smug about it.
@@marshayoung9387 Sorry, I didn’t mean to come across that way. I just see so many random comments of people stating things as facts that aren’t true and it really bothers me for some reason. The one that I think bugs me the most is Tim Faust taught Geoff how to sing bass. lol I guess I shouldn’t let it bother me and let people believe what they want 😅 Yes, I am in both Geoff and Voiceplay’s Patreons and I watch everything and read all comments there as well.
If you want another video where solo (sort of) Geoff get really into a character - watch "Way Down" an Elvis cover that made me laugh so hard I snorted.
Great reaction to Geoff as always Voice Play just released a new cover called Time Warp. It is showing on their shorts but it's not short. Please do a reaction video to it. Ashley Dianne is back with them as a featured artist.. Also Voice Plays newest cover of Hell Fire. Geoff really goes off. You won't want to miss it.
Your reaction to this awesome song was priceless 😊, I know you reacted to a Hound and Fox song before, but since it is close to Halloween you could react to their version of "Come little Children" from the movie Hocus Pocus. It is really well done
I don't know if you are up for trying movie reactions, but if you are, in the spirit of Halloween I highly recommend watching the original Tim Burton film. It is a blast. If you don't want to do a movie reaction I completely understand. But The Nightmare Before Christmas is a brilliant movie and I definitely suggest you watch it. Weather you do a reaction or not is completely up to you.
@@WhyAmIReacting Then I highly recommend this film. It is my favorite holiday movie. As a family tradition we watch it twice every year. Once for Halloween and once for Christmas. The songs alone are obviously worth watching it for.
It would be worth watching the movie for the music alone. Danny Elfman’s written a number of musical scores that you’ve probably listened to: Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Desperate Housewives and the Simpsons of all things😅! And Tim Burton is a creative genius, although he is a bit odd for my taste. But he somehow manages to make scary Halloweentown positively charming. And the whole movie is done to stop action filming which is incredibly labor-intensive. This was always my favorite song from the movie. I think it’s because I can relate to Jack. Here he is at the pinnacle of his career and he wants to try something else. But he feels like he’s stuck because of everyone else’s expectations. I get bored easily, and once I’ve mastered something I’m bored with it so I can totally relate. 😂

That's because it was filmed inside their home. In the behind the scenes you can see part of their kitchen.

OK! Wow just wow! Pulled in from first note!
Great reaction to another Geoff masterpiece!

Geoff gets better and better with every video he does. voiceplay is the same way.

So glad you loved this one. Geoff was so sad that it was all the same. When Sally comes along, it should perk him up.
This is so spooky good. I think Geoff and Tim should do a video together. Twice the bass.
Especially if it's spooky.

If you liked this one you need to see Monster Mash. You can see the theatrics along with some dance moves.
Definitely did the Monster Mash....should be in the VoicePlay play list. :)

Google Jack Skelington and you will understand the make-up a bit better.
