Please document your efforts to help and show the aftermath so much is only focused on the larger towns when small communities are just as devastated 💔
All I can do is cry watching this, and I'm a flood victim in Florida. I'm 64 yrs old and disabled and I lost everything. Thank the Lord for my son and sister.. Bless everyone 🙏 ✨️
Really happy to see KIDS taking part in this recovery. This whole storm and recovery will be a CORE MEMORY for them, and being HELPFUL in the recovery, this will be a POSITIVE EXPERIENCE for them!
Here in the UK we are seeing very little coverage of the aftermath of Helene. Our news is dominated by events in the Middle East and home-based politics. Your footage is so important to help the outside world understand the extent of the devastation and the overwhelming impact it is having on the lives of people there. There is so little we can do to help but our thoughts are with you and I hope all the family, friends and neighbours you are worrying about are ok. Watching your videos has made me realise once again how dependent we have all become on our utilities, mass communication networks and 24/7 access to retail and how so many people exist in little bubbles of oblivion never believing anything can go wrong. There is so little resilience built into our systems and our lives in this modern age. My pantry is very small by American homesteading standards but I’m pretty sure it is better stocked than most of my friends and neighbours. We have enough to see us through a few weeks rather than a few days if the worst happened. Please keep posting if you can find the time, your testimony is important. I hope the situation improves soon. Take care.
Just an FYI, this storm system impact was 600 miles long. That is the same length as the base of the UK to the north point of Scotland. This storm was massive and catastrophic.
Keep trying to build up your own preparations and independent systems. The less you're dependent on the gov system, the more freedom and time you have to respond to any emergency that comes your way. Instead of being under full control and whims of the gov system. After initial food and water preps, build up a small battery storage and solar system. Once you see how dependent everyone is, you'll never go back to being blind and dependent on the gov.
I’m in the UK too and the lack of news on the mainstream media is shocking. I think it’s because our media is so left wing and they don’t show anything that might reflect upon the democrats badly. Which is crazy as this was out of anyone’s hands. Plus the govt don’t want us prepping for these things ourselves, which we should be doing.
That's great though. Every little bit helps. I feel the same, I'm nowhere near homesteader caliber, but we could pull off a few weeks now. I've found little hacks too, like life straws for clean water, and compressed towel pellets in case toilet paper runs low, emergency medical packs (Jase, Wellness, and Duration health are the only ones I know offhand, but you can search for more.) These can be expensive though, so it's tough. But at least it's an option now. I think just building up our skills will help us too. That's where I'm trying to focus more now.
Wow Justin really had some bad damage I can’t believe that creek came up that far to the barn and washed out! That’s scary . Thanks for helping them out🙏💪🏼🇺🇸
While seeing this damage and the devestation is absolutely heartbreaking, it is also inspiring to see people come together and help eachother out. Comminity is so important. The loss of life is tragic, and we are continuing to pray for all the people affected by the hurricane.
I am so glad y'all are all ok and able to get out and help others. When Justin said the water got close to the house, I had no idea how close. Please be as safe as you can on your travels. God bless! I love you guys!
my mouth fell open seeing that barn.. I can't imagine how bad it actually is up there even after seeing videos of the devastation of Western NC! Seeing places we know makes it really hit home.
Wow I hadn't realized so much damage was done on the Rhodes homestead. The girls trip has been a eight hour shift of a job for them. Great job helping your community. This the essence of homesteading. Continue praying for your communities ❤😊
Art, you're a gem and a truly empathetic! ❤ It's heartbreaking to see all the damage! It's also great to see that you are helping one another in a crisis like this! Your children too! Amazing kids! ❤ Take care! ❤
Thank you Arthur for being available to help those in need and for having such a kind heart. I hope you find that your family and friends are all in good shape and faring well. Prayers are going up everywhere for those affected by this storm.
We praise the Lord Jesus that He kept you all, and that you can help your nightbours and friends. We keep you in prayer from up here in Europe. Abide in Him, and He will abide in you! Be blessed in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
It was heartwarming to see how the kids all pitched in. I would not be doing that in bare feet though! Lil' Miss Rhodes is tougher than me - I'd be scared to step on some metal or glass or any other awful thing washed in by the creek. I'm glad that you are all safe, health wise. There will be a lot of rebuilding needed, but for the most part I know you all feel so very blessed that no one was hurt and that your homes were saved. May blessings continue for you and your loved ones, friends and neighbours.
Heartbreaking destruction but heartwarming to see one another helping each other. Seeing the young children jump right in was amazing & the young Rhodes boys do an incredible job on the heavy equipment. They amaze me. Prayers for all for strength, hope & guidance.
God Bless all of you, and all who is working to fix things.100% country kid's. did you see that little girl pick up the bails of hay and move them as easy as the older one's .thanks to the young ladys for being in the middle and helping.
100 bodies in just one location!! That is horrifying!!! I am so so saddened by this. It is a national disaster and we aren’t hearing enough about it nor giving folks the help they need. I’m talking to people every day who are either ignorant of this disaster or just don’t care. Thank the Lord you are all safe and helping each other. Prayers being said daily for all affected.
What a blessing you are to your neighbors. I watch Justin Rhodes family daily and am so appreciative of your help. God unites us in mysterious ways and I am sure the Rhodes family appreciates all your help. God bless you❤
I would get quick concrete and go around those post to make sure those rocks don't shift. It was close! Praying for all those affected. What you don't hear about us all the people who don't have flood insurance and have lost everything. Hardly anyone had flood insurance. Praying for all.
That was so great of you helping the Rhodes family. I did not realize the creek went on the backside of the barn. It really scoured out a lot there. They were so lucky they could have lost their remodeled home. Luckily they had higher ground to escape to if they had needed. It breaks my heart to hear about all those who have died and those who have not been found. Praying for your family and all those affected.
Art, thank you for sharing with us today! I've been so worried about all of you...Rhoads, Hollar's, Fit Farmer, Sow the Land and more!! Faith will sustain all of us!!
I'm glad your family is OK. You are doing a very much needed service to your community. Be sure to take care of your own physical and mental needs. Discussion on the number of bodies found in the area is heart wrenching.
Such an incredibly difficult situation. So nice our FEMA program is destitute and incapable of providing aid to US citizens. The cooperative teaming up in neighborhoods is amazing. God bless you and yours. ❤
My heart breaks knowing all the devastation and life lost. I've watched yall and most of the homesteading you tube community in Sc Nc area for years now .( I lived in Anderson SC before moving). Clean and rebuild takes time. This has put most people back 100 years.Be safe always. And thank you for sharing.
Praying that your communities continue healing and have the strength to stand up to the mining creepers. That you are able to rebuild your lives growing stronger.
I love seeing these people working together like this. Even the young ones that can't lift those hay bales are still moving them as much as they can and just everyone working together for one main cause. If I weren't dying from cancer I'd be up there with what I could bring to do what I could to help in anyway possible,
Art, thank you for sharing your heart. I can see the stress, concern and sadness on your face and in your voice. Hold on to your family, your friends and God. Faith will see you through. Prayers for all of you. God bless and safe travels.
Art, thank you so much for helping Justin and his family it looks like it was VERY MUCH appreciated ❤ I could tell on your face that you are very worried about other friends and family. I'm praying for you and your family that the good Lord brings you "some" comfort and that your worry is lessoned. 🙏 i know full well what worry can do for a person's mental health. Art, on a brighter note, I did see where ppl are bringing in Mules to haul supplies to ppl way up in the high country. What an Amazing Family! Your kids are always helping, that's so very sweet! So well raised. So happy to hear Yous are Safe and didn't lose your home. Always in our Prayers 🙏🏼 and thinking of all who lost their lives 😭
Thank you so much, all of you, for being strong and for helping others! As a native North Carolinian, it's so hard for me to see what all of you are going through; so much worse than we went through with hurricanes Ike, Katrina and Harvey. I'm praying for all of you for strength, wisdom & hope. Thank you too for the first "real" news I've heard. So sick of the same devastating footage over & over, shown merely for the shock value, I think. North Carolinians are strong - y'all can do this!!!
My heart breaks for all affected by this tragedy. So thankful your family is okay and that the Rhodes are okay. Things can be replaced. Lives can't be. I can't imagine the time it will take to get all these communities back to even halfway normal. Praying for everyone. God Bless you all.
True friendship, going ful circle helping each other going around and around over all these years. That's true friendship! So sad and very sorry for the devastation so many people are enduring . But also so thankful you are all safe and healthy ❤
GREAT teamwork kids!.. That is crazy the haystack saved that barn that is not that old as I recall. Praying for all the families struck by this horrible storm. Thank you so much for helping the Rhodes..
Everyone helping each other is so inspirational. Gotta give giant kudos though to those kids being as helpful as they all are - thats rare to see in this day & age unfortunately. Im so very proud for you all for instilling the values you do in your families! Please know our prayers here in Colorado will continue to be for everyone affected in each rosary said. If there was any way of being there to help, we would be. Please let us know what is needed from afar from those of us that cannot physically be there to help.
I live near the Oregon coast and emergency prep include preparation for the "big" cascadia earthquake and tidal wave. One thing we have to consider is "islanding" of the communities when roads/bridges fail. This winter we had a mock islanding event with an unusual ice storm...trees falling everywhere, no power etc...something to think of is the older people in the community who are on oxygen generators...know your neighbors and their needs. ❤️🙏
It will be years before all the roads and bridges repaired. My heart breaks for all those affected by this destructive event. Hurricane Harvey and the floods it brought to Texas was devasting but we are basically flat land so it is a big difference to the massive devastation in your area due to the hills and mountainous terrain.
It's unimaginable what people are going thru. Thank you for looking out for your neighbors. I'm thankful for your homesteading community. Don't forget to take care of yourself. You've got a lot ahead of you. ❤
Those boys are both very hard workers and problem solvers. I quit watching the Rhoads channel a long time ago. Got tired of the kids having to get the job done while dad watched his watch so everything was on his film schedule.
Art thank you so much for bringing us along while you help your friends and neighbors. I feel so very helpless knowing there's not a lot I can do, but I pray for you all. Please keep us in the loop so if there are things we can help with you can let us know what is needed and where. Blessings to you all.
Look at those farm kids jumping in there and bucking hay bales and running machinery. Hard workers!
Voluntold 😂
Barefoot!!!
I am so impressed with how strong their girls are!
I am so proud of those kids for jumping in to help without any hesitation.
Wow - seeing these young ladies help with the bails of hay is amazing. Everyone is pitching in

Clapping for those Childers moving that hay, and saving that barn! Parents be proud of the work ethic you bestowed in your children.❤

I cannot believe how close it got to their house. Heaven was watching over them

Thank you for showing us and giving the rest of the US information. I’m so sorry. Please keep us informed. And thank you for coming back.
