@@tonyarceneaux286 Scott Putski received opportunities in the GWF here, the AWF, in the WCW, the WWF, Texas All-Star Wrestling, the USWA, I believe even ECW at one point and even got started working for JCP or Jim Crockett Promotions. When R.Bruce Tharpe took over the reigns of the NWA, though still a territory based or rather grouping of independent promotions, Scott Putski came out of retirement to perform. He had a run in Mexico as Konnan 2000 which didn't win him any favors as the Hulk Hogan of Lucha Libre, bigger than Hogan really, Konnan was still a legit star in his prime in the country, Japan, Puerto Rico....The only person Scott Putski can blame his lack of success on his himself. And also don't forget that when his father was popular in the World Wide Wrestling Federation though the company name suggested otherwise it was still only a regional territory not unlike any of the others with the exception of relying moreso on their own WWWF Championship than the NWA Championship though they still booked the NWA Champion there was no way they could attain as many dates on the Champion as required to draw in an MSG monthly or Boston Gardens monthly...that's why Vince Sr was still every bit an NWA member promotion without officially being an NWA member promotion. So it's not like an Ivan Putski got the exposure or popularity of even a Hercules or Rugged Ronnie Garvin or Red Rooster or Blue Blazer as those curtain jerkers were performing to national audiences. So in that regard I don't know that Scott and Ivan weren't really actually on the same level.

I haven't been involved in indy wresting for a while but if I was I think a great heel character would be to book a 300+ pound guy and have him wrestle in and win the light heavyweight title or cruiserweight title...I'd create one just for the angle if we didn't have one and the angle would be that he 300+pounder IDENTIFIES as a light heavyweight and the promotion gives in and eventually a smaller guy I'd wanna get over would pull out all the stops and finally defeat him for the belt!
Thanks for posting! GWF came on TV right as I would get home from school. My buddy and i would never miss it! Great memories.
Keep up the good work! And most of all, thanks for keeping the memories of the territories alive.

What channel was on gwf TV wrestling in the year of 1994
ESPN
I miss the commercials.
GWF wasn't as good as WCCW but at least they didn't have to put up with USWA.
Yes they did!!!
But GWF did a feud with the USWA.
Awesome Kong's music?

Who did you think was GWF most underrated wrestler ever?
That's hard to say. It was a farm club after all.
I'll say Mike Samples.
Lightning Kid
So kerri von erich was already dead when this aired. He had all the fame, money, the woman, the body, but still ended his own life
Can you please upload WCW and WWF PPVS Preshows
Koko at 268?!
I remember Koko was in a heel tag team with Novell Austin.
