Tua led the league in passing yards AND was top 5 in passer rating, that is impressive. Jameis that year he led in passing yards (2019) had a 84.3 passer rating compared to Tuas 101.1 last year. Last episode on Omar’s channel it was pointing out how some of Tua’s stats took a step back and this was evidence he wasn’t actually better last year than the year before. IMO, that physical team Perk wants starts with the OLine and a more direct Mano a Mano blocking scheme. It ends with a dominant defense in the crunch, generating more turnovers.

Grier built everything for Tua. The play calling is for Tua. The timing is for Tua. They did everything for Tua and they don't want to give him the money. This is how the Dolphins have operated for years. They make these moves and then figure out their guy isn't their guy, but the entire offense was built for not their guy. I think the offense would be fine without Tua with the players they have. Its the offensive design they could throw out most of it.
You impose your will in football with o line and d line. The dolphins are loaded at RB. But losing Hunt and Williams are big losses as are Wilkins and McMillan on D. To me, this season will come down to how they fill those holes. And Tua has to be the reason for some big late season games
We should wait to pay Tua a long term contract it just makes to much sense. If they're wrong for and have to overpay him next year that means Tua balled out as they hoped and I can live with that

Not every QB can win, yet it seems like every QB is getting paid massive amounts. Are we sure Goff or Lawrence can "get it done" as you say you are unsure about Tua? Why is that the standard he has to clear when other QBs are getting paid before they have won anything...
For the record, and I say this on the podcast in a previous episode, I didn't get the Goff deal in the least (from a Lions standpoint) because he's not elite to me and we know who he is as an NFL QB by now. We could also question the Lawrence, the only difference there being his NFL ceiling is still to be determined.
We are focusing too much on the dollars. What about the fact that having not signed him yet, you can already see the drama and distraction it is causing. If that goes all year, I don't see how this team reaches it's potential. Everyone keeps saying Tua hasn’t won a playoff game instead of saying the Dolphins hasn’t won a playoff game. Wins and losses are not quarterback stats, it’s team stats. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching, injuries all play a factor. That KC loss wasn’t on Tua or any other single player. Injuries, coaching/play calling, extreme weather conditions are all contributing factors to the play and execution of all players. People have putting both the wins and losses the quarterback.

Dolphins will still be known as the finesse team until they show different. The offense has to be more vertical rather than horizontal. IMO
I assume Perk knows the stat concerning the Fins horrible pass defense on the road.
