My 2 are litter mate males. Gunny is a tank at 90 pounds, and we affectionately call him "THUNDER PAWS". His bro, Odie is my shadow and about 75 pounds but definitely the alpha. Favorite game since birth seems to be "bite my bothers face to annoy him". 🐕🦺🐕🦺💌

In the spring I used to put the fur in the bushes in the garden for the birds to take for nesting material. It used to disappear really quickly because the undercoat fur is soooo soft but there was an endless supply!!😂😂
They are great dogs when trained properly. If you do not know how to train a dog with love and patience just do not bother with the German Shepherd or any other type of dog. They do not grow up just naturally knowing how to do things. The human has to spend time teaching them. It is not always simple either.

Love seeing your dogs. They are so well-behaved and have so much character. I have a GSD and am so envious because I never got him used to nail trims so that is always an adventure.
I absolutely love our GSD and we will likely continue to prioritize rescuing senior GSDs in the future when getting a new dog, but yeahhh we did not do our research on the breed first 😅 Digestive issues, allergies, skin issues, shedding, anxiety, hip issues - all hallmarks of the GSD breed. Our GSD is surprisingly quiet, but he has terrible separation anxiety. Such a smart and fantastic breed. If you want a GSD, I'd suggest getting an adult or senior as a way to ease yourself in 😂 as much as I love my boy, I know I couldn't have handled him as a puppy lol
I thought about getting a bunch of friends together to have a dog brushing marathon with our Shepherd, I'm sure if we would've brushed for 5 days straight we would have 5 fur bundles that matched what was on her. They are shedding machines and well worth the inconvenience!

I have a friend with a GSD, and she married a guy who also had a GSD. Everything went smoothly, but they had a bit of surprise when the dogs realized that she was pregnant!! When from "velcro" to "VELCRO!" Whenever she was in the bathroom doing anything, her's was inside with her, and his was outside, back to the door on serious "Guard" duty! I'm pretty sure that anyone trying to hurt her or the baby (which should be born any day now) will have the prison nickname of "Alpo" with the scars to prove he broke into the wrong house!!!

She is a shedder extraordinaire, and very active, and quite silly, though I have not been alone to any of the bathrooms in our house. I can’t go to the laundry room or the garage (or any room) without her. They have Fear Of Missing Out, and separation anxiety. She has figured out how to open the interior doors in the house. You can see them problem solving. I love her beyond measure, but I wouldn’t recommend a GSD for people who can’t be with their dogs a lot (someone better work from home). Crate training is really important. Socializing with other dogs and people is important. Think of them like really intelligent, clever 6 year old humans, and treat them with love, exercise, brain games, and more love. 🎾 is life! ❤ 😂 Jasper in the tub sounds like Bella at the vet getting her ears cleaned.

Neither of mine would have liked being vacuumed. I used to use a comb that was called a 'rake' with quite thick wide-spaced teeth. One of mine used to love me grooming him and he used to fall asleep. The only bit he didn't like was his tail being groomed!.

GSDs, Huskies, and other double coated dogs have only one shedding period in Nashville, TN! The only problem that it lasts 360 days!!! (LOL)
