Welcome to fordmustang98guy Everyone, This evening I will be doing a full in depth review on the 1999 Mazda Protege, I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of the car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. Bought mine 3 years ago for $500 bucks best little car I've owned dependable fuel efficient and it's 5 speed manual I love it! It even has the same rims on it.

Had a 1.8i auto version of one of these for many years. Rear suspension jiggly at low speeds, interior a bit tacky and awful steering but great performance/handling, heaps of trunk room and interior space and bullet proof Mazda reliability.

No. In US, 1999 LX are 1.6, small engine 105hp

"Those rims are from a ford" oddly enough half the parts on that mazda are. The rest are ripped off from Toyota... but mazda and Ford were partners until 2015.

From what i read it had 122 horse power which is a few hints away from the toyota corrola which has about 130 horse and honda civic having 140 hp. I suppose with a good super charger you can race with it on a track.
