Japanese literature can be hard to connect with when you're starting out and not used to it, but I've really grown to love the style! I think the Japanese book you were reading was the third book in a four-book series so perhaps that's also why you struggled to connect with it as you need to have read the earlier books hehe🍊

Asia is definitely the place for the best creative art right now and has been for quite a while. I’d love to do an art tour through China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. What I’ve seen in magazines is so inspiring.

I think the same! I love her videos! As you've said, they're so calming. I believe they nourish a part of me that needs inspiration through art. This makes me rethink my styling and editing, though, because my videos tend to be chaotic. But, as with most things in life, everything's just a work in progress. :')

@crisannegenil 👋🏽 So, I just watched a snippet of a cooking video. You have your own unique style of editing. It seems old school, and it you may say chaotic, but it's a good chaos. I just subscribed to your channel. I ❤️ to support female artists... empowerment, sisterhood, and inspiration. 💯👏🏾✨️🥰

    Hi Sunny!
Welcome back to the interwebs !
You were sorely missed but I totally get that artist's, from time to time, need to take our extended sabbaticals to recharge our creative passion and open ourselves up to new inspirations.
As a lifelong artist myself who was fortunate enough to have been born and raised in what was essentially an artist's atelier where every square inch of the walls of our home was covered in my father's oil and acrylic post abstract expressionist art, easels abounded inside and out in the garden, my father's library was filled with books on art genre and movement from the Greek golden age to post modern abstract minimalism and with the biographies and collective works of the great artists of every age of art. I really appreciate having the opportunity to peek into the life of a young artist finding their wings because it reminds me so vividly of my own time as a newly fledged young artist perched all wobbly-legged on the edge of my nest/atelier, heart about to burst through my chest in anticipation of my launching myself into the boundless abyss of creative possibilities.
Thank you for being and for allowing me the chance to peer through the window of your wonderful artist's journey.
    Pono ✌️🙂

I don’t know if anyone else has told you but “Before Your Memory Fades” is part 3 of a 4 part series starting with “Before The Coffee Gets Cold”. It would probably make more sense if you read the first 2 books first! ❤😊

maybe you'll like the japanese authors mieko kawakam (wrote heaven) and osamu dazai (wrote no longer human). both books tackle such difficult emotions in a beautiful way. (i know people hate booktok but im so glad they recommended these two books!!) hopefully you'll enjoy them. since you looked into japanese writers i'm wondering if you read any books by kazuo ishiguro. i have my remains of the day on my to read list, and i would love to know what you think of his writing (if you have read something of his). ps. i can't say how good heaven is yet, since i haven't finished it yet lol so don't blame me if the ending is bad !!
