Hopefully the GUI scaling is better for some of you in this... I did manage to zoom out and forget to zoom back in at some point in the video though, sorry!

The first thing I did when I got Bitwig was replicate plugins and hardware I didn’t have to curb my G.A.S. - worked like a charm. Excellent tutorial 👍

I would've been happy with just the Beat Stutterer effect, this goes so much further. Thanks. great vid, super helpful.

Nice one! I built my own midi triggered stutterer using the Grid, but this is probably an even simpler way of doing it. It still amazes me how flexible this system is :)

Lol, yeah, there always seems to be 10 different ways to do anything in Bitwig.

just a side note , modulation targets can be moved/copied between modulators, with simple drag and dropping (on the left Modulator panel, video at 2:00) with pressed ctrl/ctrl+alt or even from their context menu (copy/paste routing) so the index assigning has to be done only once (especially handy with ParSeq8), btw. there is a "Sequenced FX Trigger" preset... in the Space, Time, and Color sound package which is also a useful one if you would like to build your own Effectrix

Brilliant! I'm subscribing. I had some ghost note grid fx that I used from Polarity's channel and when I tried them in your example, they mysteriously quit working at some point while I was trying different MIDI patterns. I was also setting up midi notes for playback and using the note fx and arp to randomly play each one. I even setup Riffer to push notes into it for some randomization. Maybe something got screwed up in the experimentation. I basically removed and reloaded those custom grid fx and they started working again.

Marula - You mentioned around the 10 minute mark about a trick to get the reverb to stop free running at all points of a track. I'd like to do reverb throws essentially. Can you please share? thats something I've been wondering about for years.

Can't this be much easier using FX / Instrument's selectors Note/MIDI source in Keyswitch mode (in the Inspector panel) ?
If you want to curb the tail, you'd probably have to add a note filter and note sidechain modulator there in order to stop on note end. This way the FX with tails will sound only when triggered, but that should be much easier than a Pitch-12 modulator.

Sure you can do it that way too, but with the pitch 12 modulator you can assign addional modulation targets like the feedback on the delay in the first example. Thing with Bitwig is there doesn't ever seem to be a right way to do something... I love that about it! :)

@@MarulaMusic Hmm true, though I suppose you could also place a note filter in combination with a Pitch-12 modulator on one of the devices in each of the FX layers that reacts to the specific note coming into , but yeah that on its turn can also become quite a hassle. I indeed too love Bitwig Studio's flexibility and power to provide us multiple ways of achieving the same thing :)
