Idk man, Disney World just seems to be more and more stressful and anxiety inducing than what I remember it being. It was better back when they reopened as far as crowds went for sure but that'll likely never happen again in our life times (unless we get covid-19v2) but I REALLY don't understand if they're keeping the reservation system and they have the numbers and know what different capacities feel like, why they wouldn't lower the max capacity for the parks to that "optimal" limit and then at 2pm when park hopping becomes available, increase the limit to its current capacity. I feel like things would smooth over much more that way but idk for sure, that's just my take. But you're right, Disney is alienating its pass holders and Florida residents, along with the middle and lower classes for families that make 150k+ per year that can afford to buy and experience everything Disney. Heck, when my wife and I just went last weekend we were seeing families with these tour guides all around Disney that apparently cost 400-800 dollars PER HOUR and, not only that, have a 7 HOUR MINIMUM for purchase. Absolutely blows my mind who would want to spend that kind of money just to walk around the parks like normal people with cast members. At this point, it's probably cheaper just to tour the world for real than go to Epcot which is a depressing thought :(

Imagine flying from the UK paying a fortune for flights, hotel and tickets going for your one day to Hollywood Studios and not being able to ride on most of the attractions as they are either closed or the wait times are so long that you spend your day queueing. And to top off your amazing day, and just to rub it in, you get to stand and watch as the rich people walk straight on. Just think about those people who only have one or two days in the park in their one week holiday.

The cast on the galactic star cruiser that I have seen seemed to do a great job. Granted, that quality could go down. I also like the "replay-ability" that it has in that you can do different story lines from the people around you. The food and drinks looked interesting. The rooms did look small and kinda meh, however you're only staying 2 nights and I think with the idea that most of the activity is happening outside your room, they probably put less effort into them for that reason.

I just got off the Starcruiser two days ago and all I can say is wow! I paid 6,000 dollar base fee and probably spent 3k on souvenirs and Disney schlock. I think it’s money well spent considering I did 2 days or larping and watch the Ooze man from Power Rangers sing. My favorite part was watching Kathleen Kennedy take a lightsaber and stab Mark Hamill in the back. Felt weird and out of place but I’m a mindless droid now because if Disney made it - it must be right. As for the food - the orange chicken and fried chicken was amazing. I had to pay 10 dollars for a side of fries and 3 dollars to get them salted but boy were they munchy. Nom nom! The drinks were incredible too. Since no women with a brain were on the ship, I was unable to awkwardly flirt with any of them and buy them a drink against their will. However, my 25 dollar half pint wine cooler was amazing and was cool because it was purple. Ooo space drink cause purple! Anyways, it was amazing riding the Star Trek ship and spending half my salary on this trip. Looking forward to next year!!

    My own thoughts....
    1. The problem with this is that it's going to be a "one and done" thing for most families. When they do it once, they aren't going to want to do it again. At least not for those prices. This is going to really hurt Disney, because...
    2. The penalizing for a single berth is probably to drive away those particular incel-ish SW fans who have the highest potential of turning off the family-vacation big fish with their antics and very presence. However, that is a big revenue demographic for Star Wars, like it or not. And honestly, these are the kinds who are likely to do the Starcruiser multiple times.
    3. People have been boggled by the multi-thousand price tag for two nights -- for most of us, that's outrageous. But there really are plenty of die hard Disney families who go to the park 2-3 times a year and drop 10k easy each time. They're more common than one might think.
    4. While Chapek is at the helm, get used to this trend of "pay more and get less." As long as people pay, he'll keep jacking up the prices while dropping the quality. That's his idea of dealing with the over-crowding at the parks: just squeeze out the lower-middle-class families (who probably dont drop much $$ at the parks anyway)
    5. People who have never participated in a LARP before will be far more impressed by this than anyone who HAS been in a LARP. Because most of the appeal to the former is that they are participating in a roleplaying game for the first time in their lives. LARP vets will see how cheesy and superficial this really is.

It WAS 30 minutes, then it stretched to an extra 2 hours because the ride is SO problematic, poorly designed, unreliable, etc. It just kept breaking down all morning. They should have jawas in at least one market stall, I'd love to see some sort of alien beast of burden, analogous to a dewback or bantha in the streets as an interactive animatronic, some parked speeders, maybe a moving speeder or two, ( use the mirror trick from star wars 77) and add more rides outside the hotel.

The food looks bad. The lines look like a drag, and not the good kind. I miss the good old days when it wasn’t as astronomically expensive, and you could go on a week day when it wouldn’t be as crowded.

It's funny... I'm currently in the process of selling off all my toys/merch/crap that I've accumulated since childhood... and oftentimes I forget that Disney just sells mountains of meaningless merch and toys for $25 USD a pop, every day, to people like who I used to be. I know EXACTLY how it feels to look at a neat and tidy display of toys, for my brain to go "AHHH EDOPRHINS!" and to scoop up armfuls of it. I was that guy... for Sonic the Hedgehog, Dragon Ball, Power Rangers... etc.
Don't do it. One day you look at the embarrassing pile of childish crap and go ..."oh my god...why didn't I stop?" That was me.
Save your money, and buy yourself one, really nice thing that looks impressive, and LOOKS expensive. Not dump-trucks full of bottom-shelf dolls and keychains and meaningless "excess".

It’s a coin toss. The earlier promos made the bridge look plastic and the lightsaber training look lame. The new promos look great but are also over produced with flashy lighting and probably some visual effects. I think the cast members and performers will make it very special but that may not matter in the end.

Disney needs to greatly reduce the cost as not only is this above other establishments price points, the experience is directed toward a niche audience: those who like Star Wars AND like escape room / who done it type experiences. If you break it down to Park Ticket $110, Meals $35x6, Magic Band $30 then its $350 per person plus the 20 hours of 'entertainment' at $100/hour then the experience should cost no more than $2700 for a party of 2 and $3400 for a party of 4.

Without having any influence or bias, even I noticed that when watching footage of the Starcruiser. I was like 'for some reason, this all looks really cheap.' I couldn't put my finger on why. I just feel like there was so much potential with lighting, detail, LEDs, screens...and yeah, they just didn't do any of it. All the walls and hallways and stairwells look so bland and cheap and just clearly on earth. not like a spaceship. And the review people of course are RAVING but when you see it with your eyes, the footage, it's like 'this is not that impressive.' For the amount of money it costs, it does not look worth it. Like, your room should come with a bottle of champagne and a snack area. You should have an incredible tub and shower bathroom.

Just saw another video of footage of the starcruiser. Even if I had the money to waste on it, I wouldn't. You need to be some ultra hardcore star wars fan just to experience a community theater level production where they treat you like a prisoner. They turn on red emergency lights and make you run out of the dining hall when you're not even done eating lol. The rich should not pay for that until the quality goes up, it' looks cheap and embarrassing.

Did you HEAR yourself say “only 80 minutes”!?! You crack me up. Love your videos. I’m not surprised there might be mold issues in Mermaid, it always smelled so bad. Interesting about the number of costume options being sold Random question- Guests aren’t allowed to wear costumes in GE but guests on the StarCruiser who will be visiting GE are encouraged to dress up. How are they going to reconcile that? They should just let everyone who wants to dress up like Universal does.

    • @carasynthiadune9842
      @carasynthiadune9842 2 года назад +1

They ... are and always have been allowed to wear costumes. You just can't look exactly like a character performer. Like if you looked exactly like ahsoka, that would be a no. But if you wore rey's or ahsoka's outfit, even if it was a really close copy, but your hair and makeup didn't look like theirs, then that would be fine. If you dressed like a twi'lek or any kind of star wars alien, even if it wasn't a specific character, that wouldn't be fine. Also dressing exactly like you're first order, in a black outfit, isn't fine because the attractions cast wear that, but if it's a galactic empire outfit or a grey first order outfit, that is.

Honestly, I was talking about Launch Bay just a few days ago while down at DHS and it still boggles the mind that they put Mickey and Minnie RR where the Great Movie Ride was instead of over at Launch Bay. They could of had 8 instead of the current 7 attractions (yes, 7!!) and it would help with the crowds, but, Disney does not care about the guest experience at this point no matter what their PR department says.
